Title: Ideas for DoW units
Description: Make your own.
Sultansean - October 17, 2004 02:02 AM (GMT)
I was just wondering what kind of units people would like to see as Dogs of War. I think a unit of humans armed with dwarven handguns and full plate armour would be cool, expensive but cool. Well enough of me, what can you come up with?
LordChilipepa - October 23, 2004 09:48 PM (GMT)
More pirates. More pirates. MORE PIRATES.
There is only one pirate unit in the range. That is disgraceful. We need more pirates.
More pirates.
More pirates.
Really, we should have all sorts of pirate units, for all sorts of races.
More pirates.
Human pirates, perhaps with swivel-guns.
More pirates.
Skirmishing pirate boarders.
MORE PIRATES
Skaven pirates with warplock pistols galore and a half-sunken ship powered by some crazy engine.
Pirates, dammit!
Greenskin pirates!
PIRATES.
If I say the word "Pirate" enough in this post, you will be battered into agreement!
Pirate! Pirate! Pirate
PIRATES!
Aesgareth - October 24, 2004 01:16 AM (GMT)
I think that they should make a unit of Cathay/Nippon irregulars, just to piss off the people who think that such units will destroy WFB as we know it.
Also, why hasn't anyone mentioned Pirates?
Ross - October 24, 2004 09:04 AM (GMT)
I would like to see some of the dogs of war mentioned in the army books, like ludwigs wondrous grenadiers
some pirates would be good tho ^_^
King Ulrik Flamebeard - October 24, 2004 09:44 AM (GMT)
I think GW are coming out with more DoW units (maybe, tho dunno). But I'd like them to actually get a book, they're a cool and diverse army but are a rareaty amongest the gaming world.
Oh and Chilli.... you got a pirate fetish or something  :P

I would like to see some kind of Babarians, with great weapons, or just with shields. Wild babarians like Highlanders etc. Would be cool IMO
bretonnia_ekiz - October 24, 2004 02:51 PM (GMT)
*imagining barbarian savage elves  *
Well I dont know all DOW units, but I would gladely see some units looking like the bretonnian questing knights  .
Actually I dont care that much as I cant take DOW in my army list but it would be cool. B)
mumba_jumba - October 25, 2004 10:08 AM (GMT)

The_Eye - October 25, 2004 05:37 PM (GMT)
I would like to see some crazed, frenzied, fast moving(m4!!!), skirmishing dwarfs, some of those guys who totally lost thier mind and would do anything for money.
Or some more inventions of malakai makaisson, some cool warmachines ^_^

I agree here. Especially when using the Empire Militia boxed set.
I'd like to see maybe a unit of men with swords, shields and light armour, with a hero carrying maybe just a sword and a pistol. This could be given a name, but I would personally use it and rename it to suit a theme. These sort of warriors could be found in most places.
Vampiric - January 16, 2005 01:12 AM (GMT)
I'd like to see some ethereal ghost unit........it would just be too stylish :thumb:
Well since ogre kingdoms came out we got somemore Dow....
hmmm has anyone thought of making a pure pirate army ? :D
Johann von Maulheld - January 16, 2005 02:27 PM (GMT)
Well, you can just hear the outcries from the opponents :D A pure skirmishing army? With pistols? For less points than a pikeman? Nice...
Treeman - February 2, 2005 02:31 AM (GMT)
Id like to see a unit of musicians. They could each hold a magical instrument and be a character. It would just be too cool to say:
Julius wails on his guitar, causeing your Chosen Knights to die.
Icepick - February 7, 2005 05:15 PM (GMT)
How about a unit of gnomes? You never see gnomes!
No im not a halfling lover
Or, Barbarians (kinda like male wardancers)
and yes... pirates would be good...
Paymaster - March 12, 2005 09:31 AM (GMT)
There are already barbarians, they're called norse marauders. I wouldn't mind seeing humans with chaos dwarf style blunderbusses
mumba_jumba - March 13, 2005 03:20 PM (GMT)
i think a unit with grenades would be awesome. Like they throw them (8" range) and KABOOM!
but thats cheesy and wont happen so oh well
Paymaster - March 13, 2005 10:39 PM (GMT)
In another forum, I think it was the merchant prince they had made rules for the grenadiers I'll try to find a link for you.
Derek101 - March 19, 2005 07:13 PM (GMT)
I'd like to see a bunch of trained hawks swoop in and peck the eyes off their enemies. Also, it would be really cool if the trainers were pirates with wooden legs and eyepatches. Wait, I think someone may have already covered the pirate aspect, I'm not too sure....
Sultansean - March 21, 2005 08:06 AM (GMT)
Pirates seem to be popular I wonder if Games-Workshop is listening? Here's a link to an Empire Pirate army the other links provided are good,
http://www.warhammer-empire.com/forum/view...ighlight=pirate I'd like to see some handgunner mercenaries with pistols and full plate, and they could be pirates too!

I think that there is a unit like this. You can find their name on the dwarf army book but i can't found their profile. It's also familiar with the globadiers these guys.
Now about new unit i would like to see some elven archers.
Paymaster - March 24, 2005 10:36 AM (GMT)
Yes, Ludwig's Grenadiers are mentioned in the Stunty Army book and you probably couldn't find the rules because there are no official rules for them yet.
Here is a link to unnofficial rules for Ludwig's Wondrous Grenadiers:

Steve The Rash - March 24, 2005 11:12 AM (GMT)
Tnx Paymaster.Another idea for a new skaven unit is a cavalry unit for them.Yes cavalry.Clanrats on giant rats.clanrats with light armour shield and +1bonus because mounted.
lee_chitty - March 25, 2005 09:06 PM (GMT)
WE need a Dow unit that ride big cats big nasty mountain lion cats
Venusius - April 6, 2005 11:39 PM (GMT)
I think they should transfer some of the units from the PC Game into DoW miniatures!
Bring on the Grudgebringers baby! :fight:
Paymaster - April 8, 2005 01:29 PM (GMT)
They had them on MP as well
Venusius - April 8, 2005 04:21 PM (GMT)

Merchant Prince. At least I think it was on merchant prince. It could have been the black tavern.
farsight - April 9, 2005 05:15 PM (GMT)
what about, model wise, the ogre maneater with the money chest on his front as an DOW paymaster (with some bodyguard on his base as he takes up four slot?
