I'm a TPV2 person, who's just found this site. There's not much in the way of army list suggestions, or strategy / Tactics discussions on DoW. Is this because every DoW army is so very different? I don't think so - there must be some general comments about - best use of duellist/pike combos, or how to make the birdmen get their points back, etc...?

For a humble starter, here's my 1600 point list. So far, W1D0L0!

CHAR
general
barder horse, hvy arm, longbow, shield, sword of might

paymaster
barded horse, hvy arm, pistol, lance

wizard, lvl-2, power stone, lore of light

CORE
Pizarro with 19 men

9 duellists (pistol) with musician

5 light cav, bow, spear, shield

10 hvy cav (full command), barding

Vespero & 8 duellists

SPECIAL
Cursed Company (R & 11 skels)

RARE
Canon


The general joins the hvy cav, and paymaster sits with the light cav BEHIND my ranks. That way he can run to and fro', ading his reroll wherever the lines need it. All the time he looks for a pot-shot, or a chance to run out behind the enemy, and rear charge.

Any (constructive!) comments would be appreciated! I know that Cursed Company are not everyone's fave unit, but I fight TK, and I they fit with my "Hired Angels of Light" fluff, so tough!

I play them with two pike men units in the middle supported by long Drong and berserkers. Followed by hvy cavalry, ogres and lght cavalry on the flanks. And cannons? you just gotta lov'em!
I tend to play draws using this army.

I would not take 10 Heavy Cavalry: use 2 units of 5. You see: 5/6 wide: almost every unit can hit, and you dont need a rank bonus with cavalry for combat resolution I think <_< (5 wide, 2 ranks)

So I suggest to take 2 units of 5, maybe with a champion or something.
