Me, I play dwarfs, but I'm planning on starting too play with skaven and I just want to know what you think about jezzails :P

Unless I'm writing a fluff list, or an appendix list, I'll usually include them. Even as the only missile fire in the army, they can do some damage. I aim them towards smaller, expensive units usually.

I find them not always worth it. The kind of armies that I fight that would require jezzails, have ways of neutralizing them within 2 turns. however, they have been usefull to me on the rare occasion.

I do think jezzails are great, with their strenght, they are almost always wounding on 2's, removing almost every as, even those of mine ironbreakers <_<
they are cheap for what they can do I think
the only point is, they have a bs of 3, not that good I think <_<

Jezzails have their uses. They are the main anti-cavalry weapon in the skaven arsenal. Long range and they have a very high strength. There are very few cases when they will not have a suitable target to shoot at (the only army I can think of off the top of my head is a skaven army with no screaming bell or rat ogres).

I generally use them in my current format. But my most successful army did not have any jezzails, but then again that army did not work against cavalry, it just got torn apart against anyone with more than a single unit/very hard cavalry unit (such as chosen knights).

I ALWAYS use jezzils. My freind plays dwarfs and i rip him apart everytime. Foucus the fire on heavily aourmored units and have rastling guns go for the slayers. Game. set. match. B)

i never use them, for long range i have warp lightning which will always be in range because of the way i set up. warp lightining is just tacticly better as it can tear through lower quality troops faster.

I always include jezzails , about 9 of them , they can do some serious amount of damage , but since there skaven it can all go wrong tho ^_^

Although they are one of the only reliable skaven artillery, only backfireing on a result of a 1,1

Yes, it can go wrong, but with jezzails the chanche is incredebly small I think.

I find them to great against cavalry but not as effective against infantry as a warp cannon but more reliable

farsight - February 26, 2005 09:53 AM (GMT)
they are great verses cavalry as well but i find that if their main down side is the fact they have bs3 which means 6's verses long range and skirmishers, but hey they are -4 to their save ^_^
