Indeed they are! One of my favorite regiments. Unfortunately for me, one of my local opponent's Dwarf Lords has written their names down in his Book of Grudges...

Oh, and yes, that's correct. 3+ armors save in hand-to-hand and missile, total, except for Braganza himself - he doesn't have the pavise shield, so he's only 5+.

but of course he does have the look out sir and the not being targeted for being in a unit. Defense enough for shooting :)

:( Doh! I need to correct my previous assesment - in the new 2004 Chronicles, they changed the rules for the pavise shield! It doesn't have *any* effect in hand-to-hand combat. The Beseigers have a 3+ save against missiles, but only a 5+ in hand-to-hand... *sigh*

They're still cool, though. ;)
