Your second entry is illegal as you cannot combine any type of armour with Armour of the Gods.

Personally I'd take the first as you still have some punch then where as with the second you lack it totally.

Actually, his first two characters were totally legal, just a waste of points.

Armour of the gods provides a 3+ save and cannot be improved and also confers to the bearer +1S. You can waste points and give them other armour, it just doesn't do anything.

I would say the first combination is the best. You have hitting power and the heml of fortune does not increase your save but gives you rerollabilty, making it much easier to save when it is modified up to 5+ (S5 which ost lords end up with)

If I used High Elves, I'd equip my prince with Armour of the Gods, Swordmaster and Guarding Phoenix.
