My Brettonians will be fighting Rasputin's Dark Elves in a 1000pt game on Monday, using the new Scenario generator. I think it will be quite a photogenic battle - shiny knights, Rasputin's conversions... orangeness... anyway, if this thing isn't dead I could do a battle report.

Issue 2? Doesn't that imply there was an issue 1? Also I can see its going to be one kick ass magazine. One battle Rep which I don' tthink I will consent to allowing to be in the mag. perhaps you should of let me in and not pissed on me. Then you could get your first article. Huray!

I would like to see somthing about some of us preparing our armies for the storm of chaos as it seems rather relevant at the moment. I wouldn't mind doing somthing on starting a warhammer army

I like the idea of some SOC material. We've gotta keep up with the times after all.

I'm feeling a little creative, may I do a short story for a few issues? I think it might make a good addition now and then, especially if this first issue goes well.

I could do something about army collecting like the Prince suggested, I recently started a Witch Hunter army which could be somewhat relevent to the SoC. It'll also help those trying to do a themed army.

What so far do we have going for the second issue? I mean, we have people volunteering but so far nothing concrete as to what they will in fact do.

I would like to do an article about doing a bret army themed towards to becoming a grail knight. Also I would like to see somthing on a a paint about how maybe me,krangar and sombody else have started their new armys

....how far developed would these armies have to be?

I now feel compled to write a series, the lure of the big ol' tree. :lol: . I have money comming in now, and I am right at the beginning of the army. I could do my DE but well you have all seen them before etc.. Lots of green and converting. I will give it a while before I get going so I can get my Dryad unit finished. Once they are done (by next week end) I will start talking as I hope to have a mage and a treeman bought next week end (well ok I am hoping to get the mage of chili). Then I just need to make glade riders, lots f glade riders. :D

Ohh I'm converting various units (brett men-at-arms, Empire knightly orders, and alot of other stuff) to make a DoW army made around human units. I could write an article about converting them, or again makeing terrain (which i am very good at) :)

I have £15 a week at the moment so I could do my new army quickly, somthing about my new vc army which is going to have 200+ converted minatures

Yep I have decided to write the series. I have made a start on the army and will be getting some mroe stuff of chili. King do I PM you the article or post it here. I hope to have the first of about 6(?) done by this week end. It will be a planning and basic start one. Whilst the second one will be me making up my border patrol force and perhaps a mini battle report.

I will get a thrall going but am going to need some more models before border patrol. I will then post some border patrol battles in the articles.I will be slow as verything is quite major conversions

As for me - as soon as King verifies he actually wants this 'tale of three gamers' article I'll write something about collecting, painting and experimenting with the initial core troops and characters of my force. After that I suppose I can move on to the construction and testing of the support choices (Yeomen, Grail Knights) and also the addition of a damsel.

Yea chilli is right we should go into much detail until king decides on it.

well could one of you write just a simple summary of what it is you are wanting to do.

title tale of three gamers
aim: show the develpment of three players armies ect.

Just a little more detail, minor details such as title of article can be changed of course just so I know exactly what you want to do.

What we want to do is show how we are preparing our armies. So we could do based around storm of chaos. So what we would do is show how rasputin started his new army, chili is developing his army and how I am getting my army ready as I am revamping High Elves at the moment (new colour sceme and lots of conversions), the title would need some thought but somthing like "In the eye of the storm. How three gamers are getting their armies ready". Which is really rough and needs work on. It would be how we choose our lists colour scemes e.d and could have battle reports. As well as articles on painting to show which methods

So if Rasputin wants to do like that big long article thats fine right but if for instance we have him doing one big article and you doing one big article and chilli doing one big article there won't be much room left.

It would have to be done like the whit dwarf does one big article and each of you explains a bit.

They both play each other reguarly and I can get to were they live very easily by train as I am in St. Albans which is just outside london and I used to live there. But anyone can do this if they want. Also it would be better if we had 4 articles which we all did so from 2-6 in the magazine where we did your idea and have it in one article each time.

Rasputin? I was under the impression his article would be stand-alone.

Anyway, here's what I think should happen - please tell me what you think.

2 Articles - Lure of the Big Ol' Tree or whatever Rasputin wants to call it, and Tale of Three Gamers (an alternate, SOC-associated title would be 'Weathering the Storm').

Lure of the Big Ol' Tree is an in-depth article on first the planning and then the construction of a WE army, with a heavy emphasis on modelling and painting. I imagine that Issue 2 would contain the initial article of planning, in order to grab peoples' interest, and that the construction would begin a few issues later, when the holidays begin, as that's when Rasputin plans to start building his army.

Tale of Three Gamers/Weathering the Storm is a less detailed, shorter article focussing on the construction of Khrangar's, mine and Caledorian's armies, using a specified budget (30 British pounds is I think the equivalent now of what the WD series used). We build the armies up from scratch, or at least write it that way - i.e. I'd say I bought with my first 30 pounds two boxes of KotR, despite the fact the first model I purchased was my Duke, and that I actually bought all three KotR boxes at the same time. Even Caledorian could do this, just saying he bought the units instead of re-painting them to create a valid army. The emphasis in these articles would be more on the army list side of army construction, although there would be some painting/modelling input.

I imagine the Lure of the Tree would take up a page and a half or so in Word, while the Tale of Three Gamers articles would take up about half a page each.

You could go as if you remember ages ago there was a tale of 4 gamers in white dwarf which was very good.

Its actually my Witch Hunters, but same difference. I thought I was being excluded for a minute.

BTW: I have decided not to go with hawkmen as I just love the idea of the air cavarly smashing home. Hawkmen is something that my Druchii may expereince at a latter date.

This needs wait for a while following rasputins suspension for a while.

Now recently Vrish and I went into GW and there is a tournement coming up that starts next Wednesday. It's a different style where the first day you bring 250 points an army, painted of course. The next weekend you bring an additional 250 points and then the next week 250 points and so on. The first 3 weeks it's a skirmish game but once you have 750 points it turns into the real game.

Both Vrish and i are starting new armies, myself with Tzeench daemons and Vrish with Sylvania host. So i was thinking we could write how our armies are being built. The next couple days are going to be hell as i'm working full time and i need to get my 250 points by Wed. That's my proposition if the herald isn't dead.

BTW what happened to the issue 1? was it ever even released?

We need a re-think. I will put my new dwarf army in. But we no longer have rasputin's article. So what do we do now. Should we have the tale of 3 gamers and xris and vriishnak in place of rasputins one?

We've both got topics up here (mine is called My Sylvanian Adventures) that give a rough idea what our article would be like. If you want, I can expand on that, including more on the modelling and painting I'm doing, as well as trying for more detailed reports and battle analysis.
We might even be able to talk the third person involved into joining the site and contributing a bit, though I'm not too sure on that.

Also, my fluff bit introducing my army is almost done, if you want to include that, too. I might even be able to make it a monthly thing, with a new story to include with the same characters. Just a thought.
