Title: My own DOW unit

Greetings, having read a good half of 'Blades of Chaos' by our good friend Gav, I now want to create one of the mercenary groups depicted in said novel. They are simply known as the Black Company and seem pretty cool.
I thought I would make them.
Any army that can hire DOW may hire the Black Company except evil races.
Black Company 4 4 3 3 3 1 3 1 8
Captian 4 4 3 3 2 1 3 2 8
(forgot name)
Equipment: Heavy Armour, Zweihander (great weapon), brace of pistols
One may be upgraded to Musician for +6 points
One may be upgraded to Standard Bearer for +12 points
Must include Captain for +12 points
They are basically the same as Greatswords without being Stubborn and only heavy armour, although they do have pistols.
This is just a first draft.

Not bad; stand and fire with pistols is rather mean. How much would they cost though?

I was thinking something like 14 points each. Since they are greatswords, without stubborn and full plate, so they would go to 10 points I would think, and then brace of pistols is 4 points on everything so it would add up to 14 points per model.

Sounds very nice, and has a Historical basis too - there was a German Regiment called the Black Legion in the early 1500's. They were part of the German army, but rebelled and turned mercenary. I don't think they had pistols, mind you, but it's still a great idea for a regiment. Just remember to ask your opponent's permission before using them.

1) Why is the captain S2 T2?
2) Perhaps they should be skirmishers.
3) Also there is no pint in a great weapon and a brace os pistols. Every one will always go for 2 S4 armour piercing shots rather then 1 S5 shot that strikes last. Its common sense really.

For 1) It was a typo and has been fixed
2) They are Greatswords with pistols basically and so should not be skirmishers
3) A brace of pistols means you can shoot every turn not 2x a turn and so the pistols will be mainly used for stand and shoot reactions to charges.
I based them off a DOW unit in a book and so all the equipment and special rules that I have made have been to accomodate what they were like in the book.

Since they might have a hatred for the things after it stepped on so many of them?
