Title: The tsunami

Tsukiko - January 2, 2005 04:48 AM (GMT)
*sigh* It's sad that the tsunami just had to come during the festive season. x.x;; It really dampened everyone's spirits. So many ppl have been lost to this killer wave.

its life ...... our feelings foes to those who survived and with new year new hope for them

It damped our spirits alright but still we should smile or people who have lost their lives will never move on. It was an event which gives the surviver a chance to realise to start living life to the fullest and to love one another so we don't die without regrets.

I was at first shoked at this. In fact, I was watching Day After Tomorrow when I first heard it. It just made it more of a shock than ever. My school and church are having fundraisers for the victims of the Tsunami.

I was at KL when it happened... I was lucky enough not to be near coastal areas at that time... I'm somewhat grateful that none of my family members there lost their lives... But I also do feel sorry about those who lost their lost ones... I believe that we should just move up and not let this incident hinder us from our work and we should work harder for the sake of those who lost thier lives at this incident...

This is a really big disaster...so many people have died. I have a friend who I'm not sure is alive or not in Thailand. I really wish all the survivors good luck for the future, and may the dead rest in peace.

It's really sad that this has happened. The death toll is now almost 150 000. And it's already one of the top three natural disasters in the world. As in, highest number of deaths. I just donated a sum of money to the tsunami victims.

Tsukiko - January 3, 2005 07:31 AM (GMT)
School's gonna do some fund raising soon. I'm gonna donate through my school. There's was an article in the papers recently about how ppl use this as an opportunity to get rid of old stuff rather than donating for the sake of donating. x.x;; It's very sad really.

At this point of time... Donating anything is a help...

Not old boxing gloves and ice skates. -_-;; Seriously what'll the poor people in the affected countries do with these things?

To sell and make use of the money they get...

So far I have'nt donated anything... Maybe my family members did. I'm not really that sure though... And I better donate soon I guess...

One of the things which I don't get is, why are they counting dead bodies... I won't be surprised if the death toll even reached 200 000... I know its for the records, but they should stop that and help those who are living at least...

What I don't get is why people is making a big fuss over it when its already over and using it as an excuse for many things... Just go work hard for the sake of helping the people... Or at least those who have pass on...

Alot of ppl are doing their own little thing to raise money for the affected communities.
Supermarkets donating food and such,, tv fund raisers, ppl traveling there to personally lend a helping hand. Really good to see some Sincere initiative these days. To bad these things need to happen to trigger those
Have donated some money to charity myself , because every little bit helps :x
Still no word from my former Co-worker >.> been 8 days now . Hope he's allright x.x

mmm, i feel so sorry for everyone over there. i've donated some money to my church that will be sent over there. the death toll will continue to rise ... besides those who are missing, break-out of disease might come along and that could be much, much worse.

Have you heard of the salvation army?

Tsukiko - January 11, 2005 07:24 AM (GMT)
Do you see the salvation army doing anything? I think not. I wonder why the money hasn't reached the victims yet. >.>;;

Rikku-chan - January 15, 2005 10:14 AM (GMT)
I know. Over $3,000,000,000 has been pledged, but not much of that's got there yet. They should hurry up and get it there, instead of talking about it.

Hinoto - January 15, 2005 12:57 PM (GMT)
It's so awful. There are people there who lost parents, grandparents, siblings, children and friends in mere seconds. Their pain's infinite...

SakuraKP - January 19, 2005 08:08 PM (GMT)
I wasn't home when it happened, so I only got the news somne days after the incident... All I heard waas "a big wave in asia killed -many- people" I was reallly worried.... I thought about the friends I made in asia, if they were OK....
