Title: Problems with i Tunes and disc burner with cdrw

Hello
I have a firewire formac designer cdrw, using a lit-one drive. I can burn cdr's from i photo and back up. But cannot get i tunes to see the drive. I was hoping that i tunes 4 would work, but no luck. I have toast but still would like to give i tunes a try. I also don't seem to have the OSX version of disc burner could this be the problem?
Any ideas?

Can your computer see the CD drive? Were you able to burn CDs in an older version of iTunes? What do you mean by, "I also don't seem to have the OS X version of disc burner could this be the problem?" Are you saying that you don't have the OSX software?

Hello
Sorry, my i book see's my drive, and I have never been able to burn c.d.'s from i Tunes in Mac OS X with my Formac drive. (Only with my old USB Iomega Zip CD, which I no longer have) I could use my Formac drive with the OS 9 version of i Tunes. I have a copy of disc burner in my applications folder in OS9. But I haven't got it in OSX. My system is Ice i book / 600 / DVD / 348MB / Mac OSX (jaguar) 10.2
Sorry for the confusion!
Paul.

OK:
If you run iTunes in CLASSIC MODE and try to burn a CD from iTunes, does it work? Are you saying that you don't have iTunes for OS X? If you don't, Click here. I'm confused about your zip drive.......what does that have to do with burning CDs? Can you burn a CD from the FINDER? (Or any other application?)
Hope this helps.
George

Hello
I used to be able to burn c.d.'s using i Tunes in OS9 but i didn't install it because I hardly ever use OS9. My Old cd-rw which was a USB Iomega Zip CD worked fine in OSX. I can burn c.d.'s with i Photo and back up, but not directly with the Finder.

You CANNOT burn CDs from the finder?

Hello
No, I could when I first got my i Book but since I have upgraded to Jaguar I seem to haver lost that function. I am really beginning to think that is why I cannot burn c.d.'s direct from i Tunes. ( I can burn direct from the finder if I boot in to OS9)
I usually use Toast, but it would be cool to be able to burn c.d.'s from i Tunes.
Paul.
PS I only found out that I lost the function to burn direct from the finder the other day when I changed my system preffs to stop having toast lunch when a blank cd- r is loaded.

I had a similar problem after I wiped and partitioned my HD, in your iTunes prefs, goto the burn tab and see if your drive name shows up, if it doesn't, try installing the latest version of iTunes(iTunes 4), after I upgraded from iTunes 2 to iTunes 3 it fixed my problem.
