Title: [X]emailing webpages

dynae - October 24, 2003 08:49 PM (GMT)
We have been trying to figure out how to email web pages. We are on OS X with Eudora 6, and cannot for the life of us figure this out. We can email links, but how do you view the pages in your email inbox? If anyone can answer this it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

So, your trying to send the Web page in the email?

Well, I'm not sure if this will work, but while on the web page in your browser, go to 'View' (Safari), and select View Source. Copy-Paste all the HTML into your email, and send. Send a test email to yourself to see if it worked.

If that doesn't work, try going to the HTML source in the browser again, and saving the code. (not copy paste). Open the HTM, HTML etc. file into Mi¢ro$oft Word, and just save, and send as an attachment.

If the web page you send dosen't have to be clickable, you can do a screenshot of the page and then in preview convert it to a jpg and send it that way. Drag it into your email as you would an ordinary picture. I do this when there's a news article I want to show somebody and the article dosen't have an "email this to a friend" button.

Along the same lines, why not just email the link?

Not sure exactly what you're trying to do (be more specific).
If you want someone to view a website, the simplest way to do it is to send them the link......
but if you simply want to send a "picture" of a single web page, the simplest way to do it is hit PRINT and then SAVE AS PDF. This will pdf the page and allow you to email it as an attachment.

If you want to actuallly email a page along with it's links, you can also get to the page within Explorer and then hit SAVE AS, then WEB ARCHIVE, hit OPTIONS and select how deep you want the save the links and or any other things like picts, sounds, etc, and this will save the site to a single file called a web archive. You can then email this, but be warned, it's going to have some size to it.

As I said, a simple link in the body of an email is by far the simplest way to have someone review a website..... so I'm not real sure what you are asking or trying to do.

All of the above is done within OSX and using Explorer.

Now that I'm re-reading your post, I think what you're asking is how to read a html file from within Eudora. I'm assuming that you are receiving a html page (web page) as an email and it's comring through as garbled text. Eudora should have the ability to switch to and from text and html. This actually should be done by default, but if not, you may need to turn html code ON in your preferences.

Outlook does html by default, but you can turn it on and off if needed.

If this is what you're trying to do, then excuse the long explaination on previous post. Again, you weren't real clear on your request to what you are actually trying to do.

This person has created a new topic on this, aparently he needs more assistance. We can continue this discussion there.
