Please someone help me and my Mac which will very soon be thrown through my office window with sheer frustration. The answer you'll give me is probably "re-install" but we have lost the disc and I'm also very frightened of losing my emails which would be the greatest office-based disaster of all time.

Basically, I run two email applications on my iMac (OS Z 9.2.1) Outlook express version 5.0.6 and Entourage 2001 version9. A couple of weeks ago I got a recurrent message from "security@microsoft.com" (to my Outlook Exp) with claimed to be a virus 'patch'. I deleted it each time, but accidently opened the email the last time I received it.

Since then, I have had a very strange problem in Entourage. Every other time I send an email, an old email appears at the top of my inbox - generally they're from March this year and are sent to me from other people. The same thing happens in the Sent Items folder, where my replies to these random emails move to the top of the list. When I try and sort by date, they just remain there.

Since three days ago, the emails I sent the day before have been mixing up with emails from three or four days ago and will not sort again, so I can't find any of them as they keep moving around.

What's going on?
