I have got a G4 Power Mac running Mac OSX. I would like to know whether is possible or not to save, download or capture pieces of animation from websites, ie. trailers, animations html, etcetera.

Depending on the web browser try ctrl(control) clicking on the image, or link you want and select the option that sounds like download file to disk.
