Title: You Can Kiss My Ring
Description: I got my new G5 yesterday

I had one ordered from Amazon but the projected shipping dates came and went so in typical "ME WANT NOW" style, I called my local Apple Store to see if the had any and...sure enough they said they had about a dozen. Phewww, I only wanted one. The week before and this week too I have been madly selling off some of my lesser used toys to get up the dough to buy the thing. I almost made enough to pay for it and a 17"Studio monitor. I have one more thing to sell and I'll be there. eBay is a wonderful thing. I sold a camcorder, a digital video mixer, a fancy VCR and a couple other things all very fast. My flat panel iMac is still on there for sale.

OK- the G5...WOW--I mean to tell you, this thing is fast. I was able to get it started without blowing a hole out of the side of my house but I had to really hold on to the chair. My first impressions are that it is big and heavy. The aluminum case is really beautiful and there is a molded acrylic panel under the aluminum access door. Boy, the inside of the box is so clean- No wires showing at all-- very tidy. I spent the day loading software on to it and tweaking all the preferences to make it mine, all mine and so far there is only one problem. It did not recognize my iSight camera. iChat came preinstalled but did not work. I had to download the beta version off the Apple site to get there and I'm still not sure about it. My virst video chat did not go well. I was sending but could not receive audio.

Importing music into iTunes is very snappy with the G5- I did about 5 CDs yesterday and it was just sucking them up at around 20x. That will be a blessing. Looking at pictures is also very quick. I took about a dozen pics of about 400K each and they downloaded from the card very quickly. Almost instantly really. Yep, I think I'm gonna like this baby. I haven't tried iMovie yet. More reports later.

SSSWWWEEETTT!!! SPECS! I need specs, oh and an xBench would be nice, you can compare it to whatever Macs you haven't pawned off to afford this puppy or test against the G5 I xBenched.
