Title: iPhoto .. sharing slideshows with PC users??

Hey all ..... i'm new to the forum so forgive me if I make a procedural error. QUESTION: I enjoy iPhotos slide show function and want to share these slide shows with friends and family. What is the best way to do this? I have exported them to a Quicktime slide show , burned them and handed the disc to friends but my PC user friends are having trouble even when they download Quicktime. I can email the Quicktime slide show ... however this works well for only one friend who can receive these large files but most can't due to their size. Is there an easier way??

Thanks.

I've never tried sending them to a wintel, What codec are you using? its been a while since I've actually used a wintel but I'm pretty sure that QT for x86(window$) doesnt support the new codecs like AAC, MPEG-4 and M4A, so you should save it as a .mov(regular QT exclusive format) or better yet .AVI since they don't need QT to veiw it, its a format thats been around so long that just about every A/V player can read it.

it could also be a disk format problem, I can't seem to remember what forfat the disk has to be in to work, I wanna say ISO 9660 but I'm not sure. I do know that windows has issues with them if you put the files in a folder.

And before I forget, Welcome to the Mac Forum, tell us if it works for you.

dd,

Does your slide show have a soundtrack- like music or narration? If not you could just hand your friends a cd full of jpgs and let them run the slide show from their pc. I know that winXP has a pretty good slideshow feature. Boy, don't you just wish that everybody used Macs? They should.

Hey, what about .Mac? Do you have an account? That's a good way to share pictures as a slideshow. You could make your slideshow in iMovie and then post it to your iDisk and publish it on homepage.

That would be a great way to do it.
