Title: What Has Happened So Far....

James M. - July 31, 2003 05:58 AM (GMT)
Here is a list which will be upgraded each time something happens.

All of these problems have been fixed

- The board's logo was deleted.
- Buttons faces were changed.
- IP/Your stats images appearing.
- Random images with graffeti put on.

This Hacker has hacked many forums, and there have been many complaints to IF, and they are going to do there best to make sure that the ISP of the Hacker is notified and his/her account is destroyed. Hacking is a serious offence and a substantual fine will also be in place for the hacker. Every time you come on to this forum your IP address is logged. This IP address can be used to locate you.

Mods/helpers feel free to edit this to add to the list of damages.

As Shadowlord said, he could get your I.P., this should be enough to get you to get a good firewall and antivirus, while he/she/it may not be able to affect your Mac directly, could load your computer with wintel viri that you could in turn spread to those "friends, relatives and coworkers" that you share files, E-Mails with. I've dabbled in the whole hacking thing before, its not hard for the script kiddies out there to do real damage in a short time with these "do it yourself" apps.

Yes. I know the hacker's IP address, and if you look through the member list, you'll find one user that has been banned.
Duffman, IF admin, is working on it.

A tip:
Please, when you make a password, use letters & numbers. Example:
Hgy323678BBV
But, you'd want to make it something you can remember. Many people make their password:
password
Just so you know, my account was not hacked, he just got into the HTML. Correct, Shadowlord?
Thank You.

Also, if we are hacked again, the board will be turned offline, and restored to normal ASAP.

Yes, some of the best passwords are right in front of you, look for serial numbers on things that you'll probably never get rid of and use that as a password, a social security number or telephone number isnt a good choice, since with that info and I.P. they can try to get more info and credit card numbers...
