Title: Starcraft + Brood War Troubles
Duo Maxwell - July 24, 2003 04:31 AM (GMT)
I finally decide to play Brood War after getting my iBook back from the repair shop(replaced HD) I had Starcraft installed and was using the carbon patch to run it in 10.2.6 but when I installed Brood War it removed the carbon patch. My question is what files do I need to install, do I install all of the carbon files or do I download a new Brood War patch or what

hey cool, I wanted Starcraft + brood war but it was too expensive here. ($100 here even though it is $20 in the states).
I wonder how much it would cost for you to copy the cd's and send them to me..... [happy mac]
Can't help you on the question though
I have a question:
Where are all the icons gone?

The icons have been temp. removed until I find out if we are allowed to use them without breaking copyright, etc. I have emailed the moderators at the discussions, and haven't gotten a reply. I'll keep you posted.

I figured it out, you gotta install them both then the carbon patch. I was just wondering if it would cause any problems.
Hey, I just might, give me some conversions, and figures and I can see if I can hook you up, I've got I've only got a few games but I've got Starcraft + Brood War, Warcraft 3 + Frozen Throne, Aliens VS. Predator Gold Edition and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, the rest are just Freeware(I.E. Doom Legacy) and Demos.
P.S. How do you make the games work without the CDs? I've been to a few L.A.N. parties(mostly with online PS2 games) that have had a problem with thives.

Conversions? Figures?
What exactly do you mean?
If you mean exchange rate, your 1 US Dollar, gets about 2 NZ dollars. (lucky ßä$tärd)

Exchange rates, sure, Figures, shipping costs, if I can talk my mom into letting me get Earthlink cable then I could wire them to you.

The wiring? Easy, I just get the disk image thing to work for me once and place the files in my public folder, then you just use iDisk utility to see my public folder on your desktop. I will of coarse password protect the folder.

I just got given starcraft and brood war but every time I try and
install it from the CD I get this message :- couldn't open installer archive
you must run the intaller on the starcraft CD. I am running it from the CD,
I have tried first Aid on the CD but that don't work. I am using an I-mac running
Mac OSX 10.2.3 and still have 11.5 gigs left on the hard drive. What am i doing wrong? it looks like a good game.

I'm not sure how you copied the game, But if you just drag-and-dropped the files, it may not work.
You need to image the CD properly, and then burn the image to CD. This gets all the invisible files, which is probably what you are missing.

This happend to me as well, its an easy fix, you'll need
this installer and to run it out of classic you'll need one of
these carbon patches.
