Hello Batosia Fans!I loved the show, but the Toonami stopped it....it was great, and I really wish that they would show it again....I kinad forgot the name...but meh.....all fans, please respond!

Itachi - October 14, 2004 08:14 PM (GMT)
Hitokiri Battousai would be the proper term I do believe.
Eh... The one they showed on Toonami was to edited to get the full enjoyment out of it. They should of showed the original on Adult Swim.

Ultimate Creature II - October 14, 2004 08:17 PM (GMT)
this show has one of the laziest editing jobs ever....

<points to a few episodes>

uuhh....Sanosuke....your "toothpic" is on fire T.T

Jeffk38uk - October 14, 2004 08:19 PM (GMT)
And his true name is Rurouni Kenshin. Though his original name was Himura Shinta before he was taken in by his master.

I heard about this on animenewsnetwork, but since i don't have toonami i guess it wasnt as bad to me. Still need to watch the last 20 or so episodes and the OVAs.

And yes, I am a fan.

Dragon 665 - October 14, 2004 11:58 PM (GMT)
Yaaah...I could tell by your avatar....anyways,I'm thinking of going to buy the DVDs...if there are any...

Jeffk38uk - October 16, 2004 12:06 PM (GMT)
Oh they are around. But being that the series is 95 episodes long, the OVA's are 4 dvd's last time I checked and that of a movie. Its gonna cost a fair bit.

Heh you mean Hejime Saitou. Sanosuke didn't have the smoking toothpick.

I agree with you though it was a very bad editing job and I should know. I have the entire original series on VHS with the exception of the Hiko's training VHS and the one with the train episode on it. Man that episode was awesome.

Jeffk38uk - October 16, 2004 11:16 PM (GMT)
You mean that train robbery one? If so, you are right that was decent.

One thing that i would mention on the series, but which voice you think sounds better for kenshin, the japanese one or the english one? To me, the japanese one fits so much better than the voice for him in english.

Aethos - October 16, 2004 11:55 PM (GMT)
Yeah the train robbery. Spazzing Sano was the best part of the episode.

Sano: I TELL YOU IT'S A KETTLE!

Heh I also have this blooper thing on the last DVD of the series which I find very funny because there's one part where Sano just yells out

Sano: Oh and one more thing! Get me a sandwich!

It was funny because it was during one of the fights in the last few episodes and well it's funny to hear Sano saying something so random.

XD

Anyways I find the english version perfect and I feel the voices really fit the characters. At least that's my opinion since I've never heard the Japanese voices.

XDDDD!Thats Funny!Anyways,I like the English voice better....mostly because it's the only one I heard.....Meh,anyways.....I like the ones where kenshin started to get all mad and become a killer again, that was cool!Plus,he rocks with The reverse Blade sword flipped over!

Aethos - October 18, 2004 03:30 AM (GMT)
I loved the part during the Shishio fight where Kenshin went Super Battousai! and everyone was all like "OMG His swordsman spirit is getting stronger!" It was during the part where Kenshin was screaming DBZ style while leaves just snapped all around him from his swordsman spirit alone.

XD

I just couldn't help but yell out "No you idiots he's going super saiyan!"

Man Ruroken is one of my favorite series ever. It's just too bad the Reflections OVA sucked badly and ruined the Jinchuu arc.

Vadon - October 18, 2004 04:26 AM (GMT)
*Ahem* I have seen the whole series three times through, in jappanese with English subtitles, I also as of late have been collecting the manga (Which, in my opinion, is better by tenfold)

(I can't stand Anime Dubbed)

Hajime... Hajime Saitoh... Heheheh... One of my favorite characters.

When I heard Toonami was showing it, I watched the first three episodes and almost died laughing at the editing. You Witch! (Since when was Kaoru a witch?)

Correction, the proper spelling of his name is... Hitokiri Batt(long o, you know, the one with the line over it)sai

Himura Kenshin

******************************************************************

Kenshin's name was just Shinta, he was a slave, he didn't have a last name.

...SWORD SPIRIT!? Ken-ki... Ken-ki... Warrior's Spirit!

His name is not Rurouni Kenshin, Rurouni means wanderer, a title often given to the swordsmen of Japan who wouldn't let go of their blade and would just wander aimlessly. His name is Himura Kenshin.

(Remembers train episode and laughs... Ah yes, I agree with Sano, pictures steal your soul.)

My favorite episode... Where Kenshin accidentally proposes to Kaoru... Mmwahahaha...

******************************************************************

My opinion on the English Voice acting...

Sano = great
Kenshin = not so good, Nobuhiro Watsuki wanted him to have the voice like in the Jappanese version
Kaoru = Ugh, She doesn't sound seventeen! She sounds as old as kenshin!
Yahiko = I suppose she was alright...ish in doing the voice.

And I leave you now with the classical saying... Oro?

Sky de Insane Wonder - October 18, 2004 04:29 AM (GMT)
Have something to say Vadon? :o

Vadon - October 18, 2004 04:32 AM (GMT)
*twitch* *twitch* Yes almighty master, I do... If you do watch it, stop watching at the end of about episode 70... Then it all turns downhill away from how the story is meant to go... (For example, Kenshin's scars slowly go away. That's supposed to happen but noooo... Gwwwrr)

Aethos - October 18, 2004 04:43 AM (GMT)
Hey the Shougo Amaska arc was AWESOME but yeah after the Shougo Amaska arc you should stop watching it... well except for maybe the Fung Shui arc I mean that was a pretty cool arc.

AkumaTh - October 18, 2004 04:52 AM (GMT)
I've seen the series on Toonami and have 4-5 episodes on Tape uncut. It's a great show. The final villian makes my Undertaker look like Kitty. That guy puts EVIL in a whole new level.

Vadon - October 18, 2004 04:55 AM (GMT)
Which Final Villan? Toonami cut the series off short if I'm not mistaken.

Aethos - October 18, 2004 04:56 AM (GMT)
I think he means Shishio and yes he was one of the better villians of the series. I mean all the others were so knavish.

Well except for Saitou cause he's THE MAN!

And well the only english voice that got on my nerves was Misao because of her endless screeching.

Vadon - October 18, 2004 05:00 AM (GMT)
Pfft, compared to me Shishio is nothing... But compared to Saitoh, Sky, and Sephiroth... Umm *Starts bowing*

Why are all the most evil people always start with s?

Aethos - October 18, 2004 05:45 AM (GMT)
pffft Sephiroth... Sephiroth is a weakling I say! A weakling! I mean come on he was the easiest final fantasy boss EVER and in Kingdom Hearts he was BARELY a challenge... but that's my opinion.

Bah Saitou is a better villian just because he's just that awesome but then again he's much cooler as a good guy. Hmmm as far as Aoshi goes he was practically as awesome as Saitou.

Jeffk38uk - October 18, 2004 06:02 AM (GMT)
Which is ironic since both of them are on the good/bad side.

Aethos - October 18, 2004 06:08 AM (GMT)
Yeah but did you notice how all the villians before the Kyoto arc (I'm excluding Sano and ummm that artist guy can't remember the name) were just plain awful? I mean Kanryu was like a clone of Bill Gates. and then there was Raijuta who was an even WORSE villain and let's see that guy who hired Sano he had to be the most pathetic out of all the RuroKen villians.
