Title: Moive "bombs" That You Like

Lightning Hedgehog - September 26, 2004 12:34 PM (GMT)
Have you ever gone to a theater, saw a film and though to yourself 'Man, this is a good movie!" Only later to find out mostly everyone else hates it? Posts your thoughts here.

My favorite "bomb" would have to be School of Rock. I'm a rock and roll nut, I loved this moviein every way. Others didn't think so however. Mostly 'cause of Jack Black. XD

Grand Master Eastwood - September 26, 2004 12:52 PM (GMT)
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Whilst it is nothing compared the graphic novel, I loved the whole look of the movie. This is probably because I'm a massive steampunk nut.

Katsu - September 26, 2004 02:12 PM (GMT)

School of Rock was awesome. And it still is. It didn't really bomb, though, didn't Jack Black get an award for it?

Lightning Hedgehog - September 26, 2004 02:57 PM (GMT)
Yeah, but I know a lot of people who hated it.

Katsu - September 26, 2004 03:03 PM (GMT)

No, but the movie drew some serious cash at the box office.

Equilibirum. It never even got a wide theatrical release here in the states, but it kicked ass nonetheless.

Uhm . . . Treasure Planet. It's sucha neat idea.

Yes, I know. It's Disney, shut up. Hrumph. I also liked Pirates of the Carribean, but everyone I talked to likes that as well. I'm a pirate-o-phile . . . I go to RenFests as a pirate. :D

Iota - September 28, 2004 06:29 AM (GMT)

Right.Sure.I doubt that.

Hmmm...that;s a toughie.I don't get out much anyways.

MST3K the movie. At the time it was released, there wasn't too much hype (at least I didn't see any.) on it,and the idea of seeing a movie in a movie, once again,at the time, sounded absurd.

God,I wanna slap myself 9 years ago...

Movies with Hulk Hogan. It was still the time before Hulk joined and formed nWo,and was still a big fan of his.Who wouldn't be?

Cool World.yeah.A little wierd, but also interesting at the same time.(Although it might've been a bad start for Brad Pitt and the ending was a sad,sad excuse.)

Kyte - October 4, 2004 01:09 AM (GMT)
me, Harold and Kumar go to White Castle. I for some reason liked the movie.

Venom Orca - October 4, 2004 10:18 AM (GMT)

Shaun of the Dead

How people cannot like Shaun of the Dead is beyond me.

AkumaTh - October 4, 2004 02:31 PM (GMT)
I didn't see it in the theaters, but I like "Final Fantasy: The Spirit Within". The story is good, the graphics are great, and look at the cast. The problem with it was it was called a "Final Fantasy" movie. If they took that out of the title, it would of been better in the theaters.

I also like...
Aliens Vs Predator
League of Extraordinary Gentlemen
Tron
No Holds Barred (Hogan's first starring role)

and a few others.

Katsu - October 4, 2004 03:40 PM (GMT)
the leauge of extrodnary gentlemen rox! is so incredbly cool. go shaun conery XD.

and for shaun of the dead... itz R, so i caint see it.... >> *sob*

The Wise Mankey - October 4, 2004 04:04 PM (GMT)
I'll have to go with Bulletproof Monk and Evolution.

I'm not totally sure if they were "bombs", but I'm guessing they weren't selling much in the box offices, but I liked them.

Odd, both of those movies had Sean William Scott in them, too...

Itachi - October 4, 2004 07:25 PM (GMT)
The Digimon movie.
Yup, I liked it, and I'm not gonna deny it. =/

The Man Who Likes Da Moon - October 4, 2004 07:41 PM (GMT)
I liked Hulk. It had a angry man. He destroyed many, many things. It was so relieving.

Plus, that scene with David Banner and his dad when he's being chained down. I really liked that one. If it ain't fatherly love when a dad wants to eat his son, then I don't know what fatherly love is.

I too liked that movie, and Digimon. The manga Digimon V-Tamer isnt that bad either.

Dragon 665 - October 6, 2004 08:51 PM (GMT)
Digimon the Movie......Sonic the Hedgehog the Movie....Hulk.....LoEG,and a few others....

Army of Darkness
How someone can't like this movie is beyond me.

Persona - October 8, 2004 02:31 PM (GMT)
Digimon the movie- It's a good series plus i'm an anime nut. You don't have to do the math!

Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within- This is a good movie if you watch it for what it is: a beautifully CG'ed si-fi movie. Most people were expecting to see someone with a sword larger than life bust out the aeons, and felt like shooting themselves in the head soon afterwards.

MST3K: the movie- All shall bow down before this work of greatness! Ever notice how some things that bomb comback later as one of the largest following on the net?
