1: Let me just say that I still like Thomas, not so much for the storyline, but for the fantastic modeling work those guys do. man, would I LOVE to have that layout in my basement!!!

2: LUFF Schemer! always trying to con anyone for nickels. very funny!

3: The early episodes with Ringo Starr as Mr. Conductor. Dammit, his British voice just fit the part perfectly, telling stories about British trains and such. that and he was the second (And most famous) drummer for the Beatles. which i like even more.

4: the scenes of Union Pacific #844 in the intro and ending credits. hey, the song was sappy, but Big Steam is always cool!

Yeah, that was great. I also like the modeling work, although I don't have my old videos anymore. I wish I did, though!

Y'know...I actually saw this...and I saw who Mr. Conductor was. Thing is...I saw the later shows where they to replace Mr. Conductor with...

George Carlin!

Okay...'splain this to me. What brilliant executive at PBS thought it would be a good idea to give a well known role in a children's show to a guy best known for a routine called "Seven Things You Cannot Say on Television"?!?

Jim Prower - September 21, 2004 02:40 PM (GMT)
yeah.....that does seem kinda odd. George actually very good in that role, and he wasn't as bad as the movie Mr. Conductor.....suddennly his name slips my mind.

OMG THAT WAS THE GREATEST SHOW. XD;;;

I used to watch it RELIGIOUSLY when I was five or six. RELIGIOUSLY, I say.

It's too bad I can remember almost nothing about it, except that there was a magical jukebox of sorts. It takes effort to make stories about TALKING TRAINS interesting, even for little kids, but they did!

Yes. I did love it. ^^

OOOOOH Yes, Thomas the Tank Engine. Long ago before I even knew what anime was, I was TOTALLY OBSESSED WITH THIS SHOW, while at the same time being obsessed with Power Rangers Season 1 (back when it was good...) At one point I even thought of a racing game called "FRATE" which was about 2 british scientists that open up another dimension (to the island of sodor) and they find a world completely destroyed and wasted, where tons of old machine parts are scattered all over (the trains =P) they take the unique machines back to their dimension and create Robots made for deliveries and races. Each characte in FRATE was a derivative of some character from Thomas the Tank Engine. It was awesoem, a lot of the characters I designed for each one were all really cool (especially the ones for Thomas, Duck and Diesel) and I even amde a story to go along wiht it! Pathetic yes, but it was fun ^^

Kirb, that is totally wierd. I wanna see Duck!!!XD

as for me, i only made a Thomas fanchar when i was into Microsoft Train Simulator. he was a 4-8-8-4 Big Boy....lemme see if i can find a pic of a real one...

and Gordon was kinda scared of 'im at first, as he was bigger than any engine he'd ever seen (And it should be, U.P Big Boys are the biggest Steamers ever built) but he calms down when he learns that this behemoth only carries Frieght. talk about job security.

I don't remember Shining Time Station, but Thomas the Tank Engine is the BEST. KID'S SHOW. EVER.

Edward rules!!! :P

Kirbopher15 - September 23, 2004 11:54 PM (GMT)
Edawrd WAS cool, (I made his character in FRATE old because in the original show he was supposed to be really old) AND YET HE WASN'T IN THE FREAKIN MOVIE!!!

Also I made a sketch of Thomas, James, Duck and Lady in their FRATE forms. I'll scan it...as soon as I'm near a scanner U^_^

yeah, that's wierd. Toby was in the movie, but Edward wasn't. Dammit.
