Title: Resident Evil: Apocalypse (big Spoilers)

Mr. O.M.A - September 11, 2004 12:02 AM (GMT)
Having to go from town to town to get to my local theater, getting food, eating it, and STILL making it for the trailers. Oh, I'm good.

Yeah, I just got back from seeing Resident Evil: Apocalypse as I planned to today. My thoughts? Well, if you don't mind getting spoiled majorly...

Yeah, I'd have to say that this movie definetly kicks the first one's ass. And in my mind, while it still had an original storyline to it, "Resident Evil" has gotta be the only SUCESSFUL video game-to-movie transistion I've ever seen. And Apocalypse only made it better.

The addition of actual Resident Evil, in this case Jill Valentine, Carlos Oliviera (Is it that? He kept saying Olivera. I thought it was Oliviera in RE3), and the ever-so-lovable Nemesis, was a welcome addtion. Someone went by the name of Nicholai, but I DOUBT he was the same as RE3's Nich (Only played up to when you meet Carlos in the diner. Chickenshit, remember?) If the people who played Jill and Nemesis showed up at a cosplayer convention, everyone would have a heart attack from how very much they looked like their characters.

And I say this even for Nemesis now. When I first saw the trailer, I thought he was being done wrong since he, from the footage, looked like a Muppet from Hell. Seeing him in action made me change my opinion, that it did. Blasting the living Hell outta a diner full of S.T.A.R.S. members. Even the sniper, who I thought looked like a hick version of Chris Redfield at first glimpse. Yeah, Nemesis cleaned house there, but left the obligatory comedy relief African-American alone...I'll get to him later...And him and Alice going at it (more the first time than the second) proved very good to watch. Something I know that'll prolly make RE Hardcores get their panties in a twist was when Nemesis turned on the big Umbrella executive dude and his troops and started helping out Alice and crew. Since, in this storyline, Nemesis was once human, I guess it couldn't be helped. But no matter what, he still got squashed under a helicopter which he blasted out of the sky with his rocket launcher...and sent one of the rotary blades smacking right into Alice's face. :P

Alice. Yeah. I still stand by my claim that if she was in the games, things would be a lot more easier. Although considering what Umbrella did to her, I guess she could be considered some kind of Semi-Tyrant since she could take quite the licking, keep on ticking, AND scrap with Nemesis of all things. A GOOD Tyrant...what are the odds.

Getting back to Homes...or LJ as he called himself (I think). When I first saw him, I thought he would be amongst the scores of people to perish. Then he kept coming back in different scenes. Then he joined our little crew of survivors, making smartass cracks along the way. so I think it was fairly obvious that he was there to stay unless something got him first...which was entirely possible, but didn't happen, suprisingly. And his guns didn't look too bad, either. Shame all they did was look good. He dropped them at the sight of Nemesis. XD

Umbrella themselves proved once again why, in my mind, the big corporation always makes for good villians. The whole Raccoon City incident, not to mention their bullshit excuse of covering it up and sending Jill and Carlos on the lamb.

Much like the last one, when it looked like the movie was over, it kept on going.I honestly thought, since their botched evacuation landed them somewhere in the Arkalay Mountain/Forest region, that now they'd have to deal with the Mansion incident...or that place in RE Zero. Nope. Alice is once again made Umbrella's guiennea pig, seemingly made more Tyrant than usual considering how she took out this one security guard all the way in his little office just by smirking at the camera. Jill, Carlos, and LJ pick her up under some poor excuse for an incognito approach (well...LJ pulled off the look better than Jill and Carlos did...and I think it was some kind of rescue attempt to pick up Alice). Then "Project: Alice" or something of similar terms is initiated.

"Greaaaat. A Tyrant among us...THIS we need." I imagined being said in such a situation.

It didn't set up for a sequel as much as the last movie did, but after this one, I sure as Hell wouldn't mind another helping. And even though it was only once, it was the first movie in AGES to make me jump at one scene.

So...yeah...I'm no movie critic, but that's my view of Resident Evil: Apocalypse and I'm sticking to it.

Heh, yeah, I saw RE:A yesterday as well. That LJ guy really bugged me, I mean he shot NO ONE, and he only made one funny comment, "GTA MOTHERF**KER 50 POINTS!" the rest was stupid. The Nemisis looked really badass, and when I first saw his armamaent, I couldn't help but think, "I want that minigun." And Alice, hell, when she drove that motorcycle through the church window and killed ll those licker things... damn that was cool. *hates the licker things in the games*

I think that the first one. Well, it was an OK movie, but not as a game movie, and I think they went as close to the game his time without completely disowning the first one. So yeah, I really enjoyed it, and jumped at some parts. So yeah, 8/10

BTW, what part made you jump O.M.A.-sama?

Amen to that. Seriously, Nemesis ALWAYS scared the living crap outta me after RE3: Nemesis. But now I have respect for the big lug, lol. XD And LJ may not've done anything too useful, but, he was HILARIOUS!!! I say it's a great movie, lol.

I havent seen the first movie, and yet I went and saw this one today. XD None of the parts made me jump, but rather when I saw Nemesis' armory I thought, "...Awsome!". LJ was pretty funny. At first, I thought he was going to die when he crashed his car, but I guess I was wrong.

Oh, when Alice gained those nasty psychic powers and whatnot, I almost thought she turned into Phage the untouchable. XD (Magic TG)

Ah, heck. I can't really say anything that Mr. O.M.A hasn't already.

1. It's D.T.A, not GTA.

2. When Jill's partner came after her and the reporter lady as a zombie. He like...bashed on the car and I'm like "BASTARD I HOPE JILL SHOOTS YOU RIGHT IN THE EYE NOW."

XD Funny, with that "50 points M.F.!!!", I woulda sworn it myself, but, oh well, lol. What does that mean, anyways...? *Shrug* Anyhow, that movie was awesome. First part that made me jump was when the SUV got hit... >.< Normally, I never would, honestly. Problem is, same day as car wreck, but, meh. Anyhow, worst part I jumped at had to be with the little kids. Seriously, I mean, I knew that one girl sitting there was a zombie, but, it was STILL freaky, what, with all them squirts and all that. XD "WATCH OUT FOR THE DEMON MUNCHKINS!!!"
