Finally, we have taste in GOOD Anime.

Frank N. Furter - August 25, 2009 12:53 PM (GMT)
So wait, they're mobsters for chocolate?

penispenispenispenispenispenis - August 25, 2009 12:58 PM (GMT)
Quick plot summary from what I've gathered:

1700's, Alchemists on a boat, find answer to eternal life, start getting killed off. Get to America, disperse.

1900's, they all start to gather in New York, in a clusterf**k.

That's what I think Baccano Means. Italian for "Big Messy Noise".

KEITH GANDOR

Linken Rocuta - August 25, 2009 04:17 PM (GMT)
I love it. Cowboy Bebop theme song with more notes and a more upbeat tune.

Real creative. :<

Straa McLovin - August 25, 2009 07:40 PM (GMT)
The chocolate is just Miriam and Isaac being silly. They tend to have themed robberies.

They once stole from the mob dressed as baseball players.

-You all live for the sole purpose of being killed by Ladd Russo.

Because Cowboy Bebop invented jazz.

Is it just me, or does Luck Gandor look eeriely alot like Aizen from Detergent?

There's very little difference in their hairstyles when Aizen goes "Too cool for glasses" mode, except Aizen has his hair spiked more like a brunette super-saiyan emofag.

Claire/Rail Tracer is pretty much the biggest badass in for ever. This is arguable, but, I mean, DAMN.

Just,

damn.

Frank N. Furter - August 27, 2009 12:14 AM (GMT)
I started watching the series. I'm on episode 2 right now, and honestly? I'm pretty fucking confused on what the hell is going on. Someone want to help me out?

fuel combustability rating - August 27, 2009 12:24 AM (GMT)
It's all happening at different times; pay attention when they flash you the years. Nothing makes sense until later on. If you watch the years when they flash, it'll be easier on the brain.

Straa McLovin - August 27, 2009 12:32 AM (GMT)
Baseline: 1931, there's a train robbery going on with three or four separate groups trying their own shit.

1930: Origins. Some background information.

You get used to the time skips, it is confusing as fuck at first though.

What is this, the Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi? :|

Cador_2004 - August 27, 2009 09:05 PM (GMT)
Judging by the intro, it looks more like a combination of Lupin III and Cowboy Bebop.

The hell is this Haruhi? Sounds like some kind of overrated high-school sitcom from Japan.

So much relation.

Samuel La Croix - August 28, 2009 01:42 AM (GMT)
Haruhi was a sincerely bad show.

:>

So much relation.

The relation is the fact that Haruhi does their episodes like Baccano! In an order that isn't linear, that you have to watch the full series to understand what's happened, and the order of the events.

But Baccano is good.

But Baccano is good.

Why do you people think I'm saying that Harhui is just as good as Baccano, or that I even LIKE the show? All I said was they have similar ways of telling a story, not that I'm a total fag for the show.

-Sheesh, thought you guys knew me better than to like something like that shit. D:

I've never seen the series so I was going by visuals alone. :;D:

Firo Prochainezo is the best.

Ta Mere - August 30, 2009 03:49 AM (GMT)
You know, trying to figure out who the immortals actually are in the show is FAR more confusing than the time skip; The only ones i've figured out to be valid thus far(Only on Episode 7) is...

-- Ennis(LolHomunculus)
-- Czeslaw
-- Firo
-- Maiza
-- Luck
-- Szilard
-- Ladd(God I hope so; ???)

Everybody else seems fairly mortal, especially that fruity cupcake Jacuzzi, though Nice is definently tappable. Scarred or not <3

Then there's Isaac, Miria, pretty much the entire Gandor family, and Dallas, who can die of old age. Ladd isn't immortal; Czeslaw gave Ladd a fake name. Ladd's just a crazy.

Finished the series; All I have to say about it is Ladd's rampant killings have lit a fire in one's heart, especially his little monologue with Chane before Claire came in and broke up that "lover's spat".

Straa McLovin - August 30, 2009 10:59 PM (GMT)
There's also three OVA episodes to be had, they were included on the DVD. It has more Vino and that's all that matters.

fuel combustability rating - August 31, 2009 09:01 PM (GMT)
I fucking love the way the Vice Director says Clare. Or is it Claire?

Whatever.
