Title: What's your first memory TFS?
Streea Barra - November 14, 2008 05:40 AM (GMT)
We were driving past some apartments (I called them motels for some reason) in Penticton, and I /distinctly/ remember, not remembering anything before that. Other than some scene of a hallway, I don't know. Then I asked mum if we ever lived in a motel, she said, "No, why would you think that?", and then we turned to our new house on Government street.
How about you? What's the first thing you remember?

3 years old. Woke up on a bed, looking around at the sunny light from the window and my mother baking. I was about knee high at the time, and I remember exactly the layout of the rooms as they once were.

Uh
The earliest thing I think I remember is eating at a dinner table, probably in one of those baby chairs, when my dad gives me some toast with peanut butter (allergic) spread on it. I take a bite of it, scream, then I black out.
That's it from there.

I distinctly remember waking up in a crib(maybe playpen?) of some sort in my grandmother's house when I was pretty much only 1 and a half years old. I asked my mother about it and she said we lived with my grandmother for a year after we left my father. Other than that, the first less obscure memory I have is my second birthday.

My first memory was probably looking out the window of a plane whilst flying from New Zealand to Australia. Must've been close to landing, or taking off, because there was naught but paddocks underneath.

I was pretending to be a velociraptor (loved Jurassic Park when I was young), and got in trouble for biting some kid.
I must have been a little over a year old, maybe 2.

My first memory was begining on a road trip...I didn't know then, but it was a trip to Nebraska...I think I was maybe 2 or 3...

Waking up in the room I shared with my two older brothers when I was about three or four. At the time I lived in Maryland, but I know that I was born in Holland. I don't remember anything from there though, it is kind of odd.

I remember standing out in the rain one evening when I was about 2 or 3...'don't remember many details..

Car accident when I was 4. Sideswiped by a tractor trailer truck into a tree on an icy Feburary 29th. First memory was from the ambulance, there were two and I was in the one with my mother. They had me seated in some weird harness on the wall and I was just watching my unconscious mother lying on the gurney. They gave me a bear and I promptly threw up on it. When the madness finally ended (no one died or anything) they for some reason let me keep that damn bear, but as long as I ever knew where the hell it was all looking at it would do for me would be invoke those memories and make me feel ill.
-Damn bear

earliest I can ever remember at this point in my life was I was about 6 or 7 and was playing a old game on the NES. Can't remember which though, some guy with a Yo-Yo for a main weapon. not earthbound though, no random encounters or stuff like that.
I don't know why I don't really remember anything past that point in my life though...always bothered me.

The first memory I have...is taking a desk and slamming an annoying kid in the face with it. This was in Grade 1. (About 14 years ago.)
He deserved it, trust me.
(...VGM, could it have been Yo! Noid you were playing?)

You guys are fucking losers. >_> My first memory, I was like 2. I remember playing
Super Mario Brothers. On the NES. Y'know... The original that WASN'T the one where you were trapped in the exact same level forever. The good one. :D Yeah... I beat it for the first time when I was 2. It's pretty interesting... I remember a lot from when I was two... I don't recall being 3, to be honest. I mean... I remember being 3. I remember shit from when I was 3. I just don't remember ever hearing "You're 3 years old." Or any other recognition of being 3.
One of my fondest memories though... Is from when I was either 2 or 3.(like it matters. >_>) I had a moment where I looked up at the sky during the night time... and it all looked like a big blue egg carton. For some reason... I felt like a man. I don't know why. I could honestly say it feels like, now... I had that memory at this current age and mindset. As if for that one moment, I was a man.
Pretty cool. :O

It's one we had on tape, thankfully lost, and STILL serves as blackmail material about me (to my family):
Running around at the age of two, buck-naked, to "The Streak" by Ray Stevens during a family reunion...
I have no shame. :;D:

I'm not sure what came first in my lane of memories but a possibility of three:
Walking down the hallway of the duplex I lived in with a mid-afternoon light illuminating it, my bedroom was at the far end and the drapes were open.
The car accident on the way back from the Y downtown during winter, had gone swimming that day.
Watching my mom try to learn to play I think it was Dragon Quest or something like that for the NES.

My first memory is when I was probably about 4-6 years old.
I remember being in a Krogers grocery store, having gotten a pink Matchbox car. My mom had bought some groceries, including a box of Honey Comb cereal. I then remember being in someone's house with a crying lady and a lamp/vase that felt oily on its surface.
I asked mom about this memory later on in life. It turns out the women was one of her friends/co-workers whose husband died of a heart attack.
