Title: Fallout 3

Am I the only one who got this glorious piece action?
-DISCUSS NUCLEAR SURVIVAL NOW.
Wolf - October 29, 2008 12:53 AM (GMT)

(It looks pretty neat, but I can't say how it is compared to the other 2 games, seeing as how I've never played them.)

I honestly never played the other two either, but I'm really enjoying fallout 3. You don't need to have played the other two to understand and be able to play the new one. Now, there are a few things that makes it like Oblivion, like the character set up and the controls, speaking to people and things like that. HOWEVER, there are some key differences. You have Karma that shows if you're being good or evil, and it actually has ramifications for your actions, (unlike oblivion, which pretty much didn't matter what you did.)
And plus, pit-boy.

The only ramifications being evil in Oblivion had was being chased by every guard and their mother, and possibly getting a visit from The Speaker of the Dark Brotherhood if it was murder.

No it isn't. If you gain enough renown as an agent for the DB, people tend to fear you.

...I'm not seeing the bad part in this? I personally did well as the leader of the Dark Brotherhood, and as the Grey Fox. And a vampire.

I fully agree, unlike obivion, where no matter what you did, the world did not change that whole lot, but in Fallout 3, that's a different story. Very early in the game, the first town you come to is a place called megaton which is built around a nuclear bomb that fell but didn't go off in the war. You meet a guy there who will pay you to rig the bomb to explode and wipe the town off the map(literary) or you can disarm the bomb for good(and get payed by the town sheriff. If you rig it to blow, the town, and all the quests in it, will be gone for the rest of that game and you'll get your karma all the way to evil, but if you disarm it your karma goes all the way to good. On top of this if your karma is on ether extreme, you'll have bounty hunters(evil) or assassins(good) wondering the wasteland that are out to kill you.

Yeah yeah. I was going to wait until I had accumulated enough good karma to get that achievment for having full good, and then BOOM EXPLOSION.

It took a four-day torrent.
Two cracks.
Much cursing.
A Russian translator.
A missing driver.
And more cursing.
But Fallout 3 is mine.
Been playing it for a few hours, just about to hit level 4. Loving the game, seriously.

HYDRO SLACK!
Anyway, back to the game. I decided not to blow up Megaton, and as a result I'm poor as fuck, low on ammo constantly, and have less than 50 HP half of the time 8D

Fallout's gritty brownish countryside and greyish brownish ruined structures, while nicely rendered and presented, make me long for Oblivions lush green forests and countryside...

Oasis quest.
If you do it, you turn the entire wasteland into a lush forest.

Oasis quest is pretty much the last mission.
Also, which ray gun?

Nonono. The Oasis quest you get at, well, Oasis. A small lush area in the middle-northern area of the map. It'll take some searching. And the whole WASTELAND INTO FOREST thing only ends up happening in the credits if you make certain choices in said Oasis quest.
The Ray Gun, I found it randomly but forgot to note the location 8D
Sorry. Though, the second alien gun, the Firelance, DOES drop (literally, from the sky) at random.
Fireyone - December 7, 2008 10:01 PM (GMT)
Decided to go to the 4 corners of the map, and see if I can't find the power fist, and the non-breaking Gun.
Paragon - December 18, 2008 01:40 AM (GMT)
The Alien Blaster is a special gun that is found directly north of MDPL-13 Power Station. You will know you are getting close when you pick up a Recon Theta Radio signal. Be forewarned though, only 110 shots, Use them wisely. I was also wondering you wanted to help me create a small Fallout 3 RPG topic on this site. Just reply your answer...

Revived to lament over the DLC, such as Broken Steel. There are a few new locations I've noticed, but not really that many. By the time you get to this part you'll probably be in the high tens low twenties if you went wandering around the waste, and while the enemies certainly show this, the side quests in it(I haven't done the main quest that was added) are rather simple and easy in comparison. Frankly, I'm just going to focus my hate against the Radscorpion Genus, and their addition of the Albino Radscorpion. Giant was bad enough, thanks very much. And while they probably are much easier with the insect damage increasing perk, I didn't take it so crap for me. Also, Lincoln's Repeater kills quite nicely. And I have both of the Blasters, but I used a large portion of the ammo for it when I ran into a pack of Deathclaws at Old Olney. Least I got the Medic Armor from there. >.>

Cador_2004 - July 22, 2009 09:44 PM (GMT)
Alright. The game is great, VATS makes sniping easier. The unique weapons are quite powerful, and I have trouble deciding on which perk to get with each level because there are so many useful, if a little situational ones. So...Anyone have a favorite weapon, or a preferred weapon that they use the most?
Straa McLovin - July 22, 2009 10:24 PM (GMT)
I punch everything. Everything that is and ever was or will be.
-I also blew up Megaton and tried selling kids to slave traders but I kinda pissed them all off.

I've a singular gripe with the game for the moment.
Why would you add a scope to a pistol?
A .44 Magnum for that fucking matter. How does that even work?

I had way too much fun in Operation: Alaska. Not needing to worry about weight or stimpacks made it more fun, for some reason.
Also, getting betrayed by half of the Outcasts? Saw that coming a mile away.
