I just bought an HP Pavilion dv67000 today, and am currently having issues already.
Vista came pre-installed, and I decided I didn't like that. So I formatted it, and installed Windows XP, everything ran smoothly.
Until I actually tried to do anything, really. All of a sudden, all the devices aren't installed. I don't have any wireless, no sound, ethernet slots apparently don't work. USB, mouse, keyboard and screen seem to be the only things working. My dad didn't quite know what to do, so he suggested downloading drivers from the HP site on one computer, and transferring it over. Far as I can see, none of that worked.
Currently I'm trying to install Service Pack 3 to see if that will help the situation any, god I hope so.
I kind of feel retarded fxcking up already with the laptop, but oh well.

Well, see, here's the thing. HP have customised that particular install of Vista so it contains all of the Drivers and software needed for the laptop to operate correctly. By formatting, you've also removed all of the things they but on it to provide basic operation. Suck it up, put your recovery CD in/boot from your recovery partition, and try having a functional laptop. :(
