Title: TF2 Issues

Right, up until now, I've been piggybacking on Myke's account because he's an awesome guy. No problems other than my connection making me quite laggy.

The free weekend rolls around, and I decide to try using TF2 on my own account, as I plan on buying it as soon as a money transfer goes through to my paypal.

I turn off every other program so only steam and TF2 would be running, and, it boots up fine, but just as I'm about to get into a game, it crashes. First it says "Out of Virtual Memory", then next time it pops up with: "CMDLCache:: Out of Memory"

So I try uninstalling TF2, and re-downloading it, nope, five hours just wasted, still problems. I completely uninstall steam, re-install (lol whoops didn't know that uninstalled all my games), and then spent the night re-downloading and installing TF2. Tested a few minutes ago, now I have a new problem! "failed to lock vertex buffer in CMeshDX8::LockVertexBuffer"

Now I can't play TF2 at all. And this makes me quite sad, especially if this problem persists to when I actually buy a copy, though I am planning on purchasing a new computer as soon as I get paid from working that rave awhile back.

Um, computer specs:

Windows XP Professional
Service Pack 3
Celeron 2.40 GHz Processor
1 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 6200 256 MB

Until mykemaster flex arrives I'll ctry coming up with something:

Got your latest drivers? Is your page file adequately proportioned?

Huh apparently there were updates I might've missed, I'll check that.

Driver update failed, still get the "failed to lock vertex buffer in CMeshDX8::LockVertexBuffer" message, along with a little pop up in the lower right corner saying,

"Windows - Out of Virtual Memory

Your system is low on virtual memory. To ensure Windows runs properly, increase the size of your virtual memory paging file. For More information, see help."

So um, how do I increase this? D:
