~Setting~

Zyxzz'Kyizx (Or 'Zyx' as some preferred to call him) tapped his feet in rhythm with the second hand on the clock tower adjacent to him. "Tch...he's almost late." he scowled as his sharp violet eyes stared intently at the clock as it slowly counted down to midnight. He stepped over to the edge of the skyscraper and peered down to the city below, this late at night there were few people out, Zyxzz'Kyizx hoped to catch a glimpse of his opponent in the bright streetlights below.

In honor of his 'date', Zyx had opted for a change in his usual attire. Instead of the brighter casual clothes he usually wore, he was dressed in a black tank top, seeing as it wouldn't really matter much if it got torn during the fight. His dressed in black pants held up by a black belt that had three full scabbards hanging loosely on it. He pants were stuffed in a pair of sturdy leather boots, also black. Around his neck he wore a black stone inscribed with his name on it, and over all this he wore a black coat, the hood pulled up over his head. Were it not for the moonlight shining down on the city, he would of been completely invisible.

A loud "DONG" shattered the silence as the clock read 12:00. Zyx turned away from the street and scanned the roof for his opponent as the bell roared once more.

The bell would ring and ring, but no sign of Kozmic Kat in sight. It stuck it's last bell, and the space pirate was nowhere to be found. It was not until 1:30 when a bright light shined in the sky. It was no light however, BUT A SHIP. At high velocity, a ship in the shape of a star was flying fast towards the ground. The star hit the building next to Zyx, making it collapse in a giant explosion of rubble and glass shattering. Quite the site to see, lucky Zyx.

A light shined from the ruins of the building, and as it did, boulders and other things that a building is made of, shot from the light. A man, if thats what he could be called, stood from the rubble. "AH! Earth! How sweet a place!" This was said, off to a chorus of car alarms, screams, and some expressions of affection. This man was quite the pleaser to the ladies.

The man held a shiny item in his hand, a long item. It was a cane, with a star at the top end of it. He stepped from the rubble, down to the skyscraper, and looked up, with his hands on his hips. "Guess I've got some climbing to do." He laughed, and made an attempt to run up the side of the building. Yet, his attempt was thwarted by the evils of gravity. The man stood up, "..Oh right. Damned laws of physics." He sighed and went into the building, he would have to take the less cool, elevator.

The door opened with flare as the being stepped out, dusting himself off, "Sorry for the entrance. Not as spectacular as I'm known for. The ladies will have to get off some other way." He said with a distilled pride, as he put his cane to the ground. The man, was in fact, part kat. No, not cat, kat. Katicular, in fact. An elite race from the planet shaped like a yarn ball. Kat made, of course. Though, sparing the long story of the Kat race, is the best option in this case.

Kat's long purple hair flowed down to his shoulders, galient in purple brilliance. He had two mechanical kat ears on his head, and a visor over his eyes, silver with a red streak going from the left to right side. He wore an old school pirates coat, complete with the things on the shoulders and everything. It was a light blue, and yet dark. He wore a light purple shirt under that. On his waist, a silver belt with a star belt buckle. He wore blue bell bottoms, the same color as his jacket, with purple starts on them. On his feet, boots, pointy, and quite fabulous.

"Sorry," He said, his tail swooshing out from behind his jacket, a long kat tail, with a more fluffier end. It was purple and light blue, and pretty. It seems as he shook it, stardust came off it, like a trail a pixie would leave. "It would seem it's 1:30. Oh earthers and their time zones, I thought it was 12 here, and I was only going to be a little late." He bowed, "Allow me to apologize with an introduction. My name is Kozmic Kat. That would be 'K-a-t' kat. Everyone seems to mess that up." He stands back up straight, chuckling, "You're the boy who called me for a play date, right?" He said, holding up his cane, and wiggling it around and him. "A brawl of sorts?" He grinned, "I guess I can have some fun with that then. Not a blushing beautiful babe with me tonight, but a duel of sorts with you would be acceptable."

He clapped, "Nice color of eyes by the way!~" He said, his tail swinging around again, stardust floating off into the sky.

Zyx had been idly watching the clock through partly frustrated, partly tired, and partly angry eyes. "Is he even going to come?" Zyx sighed. As if on cue, the pirate ship fell down from the heavens and destroyed the adjacent building. The feel of having a huge ship come crashing down and destroying the building right next to you all in only a matter of seconds was such a shock to Zyx he almost fell off the building.

After everything Zyx had settled down and regained his normally cool composure, he stepped over to the edge of the building and peered down inside the ruins. He spied Kozmic Kat and began analyzing him for any hints of his abilities, "...Doesn't seem like he can run up walls. Perhaps I can use that to my advantage." Zyx observed as Kozmic made his gravity defying attempt.

Zyx turned to roof's entrance for the non-gravity defying and waited, "Mmmh, perhaps I should ready my swords now, or maybe I should wait until he gets up here for a more dramatic effect. Then again, for I know those doors could explode open and he'd come charging at me, that would probably be bad if I wasn't prepared..." Zyx's thoughts came to a halt as Kozmic appeared on the rooftop.

As Kozmic took time to give his 'excuse', Zyx took the time to look him over for anything that might give a hint as to what his abilities were. It was hard for Zyx to keep from smirking while doing this, as the Kat looked rather odd to him, and the only thing Zyx could determine was that his opponent was either trying to make a fool out of this dual, or he simply had a few screws loose.

"Heh, well...nice hair." Zyx complimented back with a slight grin. He grabbed the hood of his cloak and pulled it down, revealing a pair of white horns shining in the moonlight. They sprung out from the side of his skull and slightly curved downwards halfway. The demon looked at Kat, "Now then, you've kept me waiting for an hour and a half and then you come up here and start rambling on, so let's cut the chit-chat and have ourselves a nice bloody dual." He grinned at the last words and drew two swords from their sheathes.

In the moonlight they shone more brilliantly than his horns. The two rapiers had a silver colored blade and the most elegant hand-guard. Zyx idly twirled them around in his hands a few times, "You know, you were taking so long, I though these might rust." He said as he looked his two swords over. He looked towards Kozmic and stopped twirling, "Well, I'll let you go first, I'm dieing to see you actually do something now."

Kozmic ooed and aahed politely at his new enemies horns. They sure were an expression of ones manliness, especially a demon's. Good thing he didn't have ram shaped horns, those were for girls. Though, Zyx wouldn't be a good girl at all. His flare was rare, his clothes bare. Black and whack, out of style, couldn't go a mile in that. Oh look at me, rhyming on like a rapper.

Kozmic kat started flipping around his cane, swinging it in his hand, to show he was capable of working such an object. He through it down on the ground, and the star began to shine. Kozmic Kat put his hands behind his back, and flipped up to the top of the part of building where the door came out. He tail swished back and fourth, star dust floating around him. "Come on then." He held up his hand, pointing one finger at the demon, moving his finger back and fourth towards himself. "Less your scared."

Zyx looked down at the shining star, then back up to Kozmic, "Well, it's not like I didn't expect a 'kat' to not be agile. That glowing and the star-dust worries me though, I better keep my distance and see what he does. Zyx nodded and drew his glistening blade up, and aimed it at Kozmic. His feet scraped against the rooftop as he shuffled into a defensive position, ready to run away from a counter-attack.

With a crackle and pop, a white hot stream of lightning jumped out of Zyx's coat and onto his sword The lightning streaked across the blade and charged at Kozmic Kat. If the bolt of lightning was unhindered by whatever defenses Kozmic held up his sleeves, the searing bolt would pierce his chest and run straight through his heart. Zyx doubted this would be the case, however, and kept a sharp violet eye out for another hint at Kozmic's abilities.

"PLASMA!" He said loudly, holding up his hand. As the lightning bolt his his hand, the charge went into his four fingers, the charge shaking his arm, as the plasma energy went into his system. The lightning bolt eventually was stripped of all it's power, and put into Kozmic Kat's body. His fingers were red, but not burned. His tail was stuck up now, frizzy from the new flow of energy in him. However, his purple hair stayed straight, and beautiful, as always.

"See, as a Kat." He said, and jumped with an electrical discharge off his feet towards Zyx. As he hit the ground close to him, he swung around Zyx's right side and appeared at his back, all in the matter of a couple seconds. "I can take plasma into my body and use it as power." He chuckled, flipping backwards and standing on the edge of the building. "We are a race that is highly in tune with the universe and space. Yet, a kind race as well. Sadly, I can't actually go and shoot lightning at you or something, just feel about 10 years younger."

A voice sprang out from the doorway that Kozmic Kat was at, though it was the same voice. "Indeed, isn't this fun?" If zyx inspected it, there would be two Kozmic Kats standing on opposite sides of him. Clones? What was this mystery?!

Zyx lowered his sword and stood silent as the two Kozmic's continued chatting. It didn't feel like they were going to attack him, "Perhaps that's a theme of his, to keep me waiting and wasting my time." he pondered as he looked back and forth between each Kozmic. He looked over at the glowing cane on the floor and tapped his foot silently as he took a few seconds to think.

With a flick of the wrist, he pointed his right-handed blade at the Kozmic on the ledge behind him. With the other blade it aimed it at the glowing cane, "It's just a guess, but perhaps trying to destroy this will get a reaction from him. He shot two bolts of lightning down his swords and towards his targets. He aimed the bolt behind him under Kozmic's feet, hopefully blasting away that part of the building and sending that Kozmic down to the city streets. The other bolt was aimed at the cane itself, Zyx just hopped it didn't have the same lightning sucking abilities the Kats possessed.

Kozmic gasped loudly, sprinting at the speed in which no human could make. He got in front of his staff and took a bolt to the back, as he protected the staff. He hissed, as he pulled the cane out of the ground, the other Kozmic Kat fading away into sparkly dust. "How.." Kozmic looked back at the demon and knew he was an actual contender.

Kozmic's back was burning from the impact, the heat was immense, but it didn't seem like it fazed him much. He flipped back his coat, and pulled on the star part of his cane, it pulled out a sword. The other half of his cane, he placed on a little notch on his belt, that couldn't be seen before, as it was covered by his coat. He got into a defensive position, "I don't know how you figured out my secret that quickly, but I applaud you. Now, we're serious." He said, his fangs starting to show in his mouth.

Zyx grinned, showing off his fangs as well. His eyes gleamed in the moonlight as he took the moment to revel in his 'victory' "Oh please, I'm surprised you'd call something so obvious a secret." he taunted. However, while he certainly acted as if he had just won the fight, he was still very suspicious, "Either he's a fool for leaving something so important on the ground, or he thinks I"ll be the fool and fall for his little game. Either way, it looks like he'll stop chit-chatting my ears off, thankfully."

Still in his defensive stance , Zyx raised his swords and aimed once again at Kozmic. He could really care less how much power he might accidentally give Kozmic in this next move, after all, he didn't come here to fight a pussy. With another crackle the lightning leaped off his swords and shot forwards at Kat, one aimed at the sword and the other aimed at the part of the cane hooked onto his coat.

As soon as he finished his shots he loaded up his swords with a bit more electricity, not to fire at Kozmic, but to get his swords superheated. If Kozmic decided to rush over and attack him, Zyx planned on cleaving through the Kat's body like a hot knife through butter.

Kozmic Kat rolled his eyes, this trick again? Zyx really needed to diversify his attack strategy. Personally, Kat liked not having to have a giant arsenal of weaponry and striking styles, as long as they were effective. Yet, plasma, wasn't going to work, yet he insisted on continuing to try and strike him down. Oh well, it was his loss.

Kozmic swept up his feet, kicking up some dirt as he rolled to the right, the bolts of lightning flying past him. Kozmic held up his hand, electricity starting to flow to his arm. He was using the little gift Zyx had given him early on in the fight. His hand started to glow, like the light from the sun. Steam rose as a small ball started to form in his hand. It erupted, and crackled as it was made larger and larger. Soon it was the size of a small comet. The heat from it was so enormous, the flames became white. This all happened in a matter of time it took Zyx to heat up his swords.

Kozmic picked himself up, from being in a crouched position, and sung around, "Batter up!" He said, and posing like a pitcher, he through the small comet at the Demon. The temperature of the little ball, almost unnameable. The trail from the mini comet made it seem like one long stream coming from Kozmic's hand. It soared like a comet would, at high velocities towards Zyx, sounding off like a true manifestation of solar energy. Or how more accurately, it didn't. No sound travels through space, you know.

"Damn! Zyx cursed mentally as he observed the mini comet hurdle towards him. Thankful that he had decided to stay in his defensive stance, Zyx immediately dashed to the side before the comet had the chance to slam into him, which could of very well put him out of this fight. As the comet flew by Zyx could swear he heard a few of his hairs get singed by the blinding heat the comet emitted. He turned to look at Kozmic with a slight grin as the comet instead flew towards a building behind them.

As the comet approached the glass windows of the building they cracked and shattered under the intense heat. Without giving the building time to recover from its white hot flames, the comet slammed into it, and the building erupted into a sea of smoke, fire, and screams. The upper-half of the building toppled over onto the streets, shaking the Earth under it's massive weight as sirens, car alarms, screaming, and crying continued to fill the air.

"Well well, that was what I had hoped for. It seems you're not all that playful once you're serious." Zyx shouted over the din, smiling. That was a lie though, if everything had gone as Zyx hoped Kozmic would of been dead by now, but nothing ever goes that perfectly. His feet shuffled back into a defensive position as he began thinking over what to do next. hen, with a slight nod, Zyx sheathed his swords and reached into his third sheathe. With a wide grin his unsheathed a plain looking, two foot long, stick. There was absolutely nothing physically remarkable about this 'weapon' it was a stick. A regular old stick. "Heh, I guess since you're serious, I might as well get serious too." He laughed as he twirled the stick idly around his hand.

Kozmic spent his time enjoying the spectical his little fast ball had created. "Ohh~ How pretty!" He said, his tail swooshing around in glee as he walked over to the edge. It wasn't the whole, crying and death that he found pretty, but the explosion and violence. Glass shattering was always kind of nice to look at, when it wasn't hurtling towards your face.

The katicular pirate looked back, and his head quirked to one side. A stick? What, was he going to do? Prod him to death? Nevertheless, Kozmic Kat took the demon seriously, anyone wielding a stick isn't insane at all. It could even be used as a quarterstaff. Kozmic squatted down on the edge, his arms resting on his legs, his hands flopping down in front of his knees. His sword, glistening in the flames, had qualities of a rapier, especially in the blade region. A pirates weapon was his rapier, so he had modified it a bit.

"So, stick eh?" He said, yawning slightly, as all kats do during the day. He hadn't had a nap yet, and manifesting a comet takes a little out of you. He'd be draining a bit of energy and life out of himself tonight, it would seem.

Kozmic stood back up, looked at the ground in front of him, and snapped his fingers, a small flickering light showing up on the ground. He looked back up at Zyx, and smirked. "Well come on." He chuckled, standing back up, holding his blade out. "Come attack me"
