My computer has been acting up on me lately. For the past few weeks when I start is up, it takes forever to boot windows. It will boot as normal until it reaches the desktop, where it only shows the wallpaper for about five minutes or more until it finally loads the task bar and icons.
Anyone got any ideas? I've already tried to run Norton in Safemode and it wouldn't pick anything up.
Your problem IS Norton. The program is such a system hog that is should be classified as Malware. I recommend moving on to another antivirus solution, as well as running a scan with ad aware, and a good defrag might help.
I've been thinking about getting rid of Norton for a while now.
Did a scan with Ad Aware and defragged, but it still takes forever to boot up Windows. It just shows the wallpaper for about five to ten minutes before it'll show things like the taskbar or desktop icons. I'll be uninstalling Norton as soon as I'm out of Safe Mode.
