Title: Libre Gloria

Athias - February 13, 2008 10:16 PM (GMT)
Once, the whole world was blank.

The skies were grey, devoid of luster, and the earth flat and desolate. The world was empty, empty of life. And even if there was life, what would have been the point in living it meant living in such a place? There would have been none.

But then, amidst the bleakness, came a reason to live. Two beings emerged from the ground, and they brought color and meaning wherever they went, until the world was no longer dull, but lush and vibrant, the beautiful blue sky we know today replacing the old one, and the earth gaining texture and color. And, eventuallty, with the two, came life. Wherever they stepped, valleys were formed, wherever they spit came seas, and from the fungus between their toes came forests.

But eventually, these two gods grew bored of forests and valleys and seas, they knew that the world was still missing one thing, life. So, on the tenth day of their appearance, they created life. First, they created the birds and the mammals, formed from the loose strands of their hair, then they created fish and lizards, from their dry skin. By then, the world was teaming with new life, and for a while they were content, but by the thirtieth day, they began to grow bored. So, they decided to create one more thing, to complete the world, sentient life. The gods started with the simple fae, but they were not enough to complete the world, so then they created man, but even THEY were not enough, so they spent seven days designing and creating all of the sentient races, to complete their world.

Once the world was complete, the gods eventually grew bored of it, as such beings were to great to be content for long. And, on the sixtieth day, they left the world, departing for all the new and interesting things that the universe had to offer.

This is the story of how the world came to be. But it is not the story of what the world is now, no, that story is still incomplete.

((IT'S DONE, YES!))

Tahuman: (Warning: Writing contains trace amounts of suck! Plot is okay though. I really hate this, if I spent time on it, I could make it good, but that would take longer than I can afford.)

As you woke up, a voice went through your head, your own voice. “I’m Tahuman,” it said “I’m the son of this forest’s elf king, and the youngest hunter in my group.” You paid no mind to the voice, you heard it in your head everyday when you woke up, and if had ever bothered you; it had long since ceased doing so. The morning was an ordinary one; you got up, got dressed and ate, then donned your armor and joined your group for another day of hunting.

Your group was one of the best, consisting of the two renowned elf-princes, you and Tiares; the best shot in the forest, and three of the best hunters, Saer the quick, Baers the smart and Dargin the strong. (I can’t make elf names alright, SHUT UP.) You had just started out and had already caught 2 deer(s?) today, and today was a slow day.

Though unknown to you, something was happening during your hunt, something you wouldn’t know of until you got back, by which time it would have been to late.

Shortly after you lefts your village, a black hand poked out of the sky, it was so small, that no one noticed it, and those who did only gave it a passing glace, believing it to be something like a bird. However, the elves’ ignorance did not last long, as the hand descended rapid from the sky, behind it what seemed to be an infinitely long black arm.
The elves’ formed a crow around where they predicting the thing to hit, curious as to what it was. Right before the hand landed, it curled up into a fist, and once it hit, the color drained from the world. The sky surrounding it was as white as the ground under it, and the elves near it, who were wreching on the white ground in pain, slowly dissolving. The hand was dissolving too, and as it dissolved, a man came into being, at first, he was just a faint outline among the white, but soon he was gaining color, and as the hand fully dissolved, he was fully formed.
He was a tall man, especially compared to the dying elves, at 6’2”, his clothes, which covered all but his face, hands and feet, were as black as the hand had been, and his skin was as white as his surroundings. His eyes were grey, but far from being lifeless, they were as vibrant as anyone’s, only instead of joy they were filled with hate. And unfortunately, you happened to gaze upon them right as you returned from your hunting trip, only to find him, standing amongst your dying kin in a field of white.

You looked at him, and he looked at you, and you had two options, run or fight. Which one would you choose?

Sukerton:
“I am Sukerton, 19, of the Kaguya, and I am the Elf-slayer.” These words rang through your head as you woke up, as they did every morning. You wouldn’t mind it, if it wasn’t for the last part, the part about being the ‘Elf-Slayer.’ The elves and the Kaguya were always in conflict. The Elves were constantly spreading, constantly taking more and more land, and were slowly and steadily forcing the Kaguya deeper into the swamp. The land around you was wet and plagued by mushrooms; some so large they could have been mistake as bushes if they were green. But still, you were no elf-slayer, only an unlucky boy who happened to stumble upon a few freshly-dead elves. The fools smelled of wine, and the deep gashed in their chests indicated they decided to mess around with a bear. But in these troubled times, the Kaguya who found you when you screamed in surprise were so desperate for some sort of hero, they declared you an elf-slayer, and held a festival in your honor.
It was great at first, but as times grew more desperate, you were called on more and more, constantly being sent into the middle of the battlefield. At 19 years old, you had been in more battles than most of the other Kaguya had been in all their lives. That being said; most Kaguya who had been in as many or more battles than you had were already dead.
Your current assignment was a much less harrowing one than most; a small band of elves had settled camp close to your swamp, to close. They were mostly women and children, with only a few warriors in between, so you and your group of 10 would have little trouble wiping them out.

Hayate:
“I am Hayate Jay, 18 years of age, a human, and yet a demon.” You heard this every morning; it was odd, though you didn’t want to tell anyone, in fear of being considered crazy. Your lineage wasn’t secret, but you had been nothing less than a model citizen, albeit a shy one, so almost no one held it against you, at least not anymore. Today wasn’t a terribly abnormal day, but it certainly wasn’t a normal one. Two strange men had arrived in your village at night, and taken up residence in the inn. This wasn’t anything new, until the men revealed they were knights, looking for the town’s finest swords to recruit. All of the boys were crowding them, trying to prove their worth, however, they all failed to impress. Despite your best efforts to remain out of sight, the men spotted you, and asked you to try out, along with (and against) another boy, Kio.

Kio: (This one is lazy, so sue me, I’m so bored of making morning-intros that I decided to skip right past that and skip into what I established with Hayate.)
This had been a great day so far, you were going to become a knight! Last night, the knights who had visited your families’ inn decided to spar with you, to determine whether or not you were ready for it. You had easily exceeded their expectations, actually beating the knight you fenced (though you expected he was going easy on you.), a young man, no older than 25 with golden-brown hair and similar-colored eyes. He wore light armor, engraved with the strangest symbol you had seen, a pen of all things. When you became a knight, you would request for an emblem other than a Pen. The second knight was cloaked at all times, he was obviously older, perhaps 35 years of age, and his mouth, the only visible part of him was stuck in a rather depressed frown.
Perhaps the knights had high expectations after fencing with you, but so far none of the other boys had been accepted as knights thus far. However, they had their eyes on one boy in particular, Hayate, the quiet demon boy. He was a quiet boy, and despite his demon blood, you doubted he was a good fighter, and you were especially surprised when the knights asked that you fence each him. You took out your sword and prepared for what you expected would be an easy match.

(Kio’s intro really crapped out near the end but it’s finally done! Oh, and BTW, sicne this isn’t a serious fight, make it quick, if it’s more than 3 posts per person, I decide the winner. It really won’t matter much, it’s just going to set the tone for your character’s relationship’s.)

Sukeruton - February 17, 2008 04:28 AM (GMT)
(SWEET! Its awesome! I like how Im gonna have to fight with others in the rp. My story is like kimimaro except he was like 8 when he had to do that stuff. anyway)

Sukerton looked at his surroundings. He saw no traces of life besides a few bug and birds and his fellow Kaguyain elf-slayers. Well, fellow wasn't the right term. He did not want to consider himself an Elf-slayer. He had hardly any fighting experience. The only reason he was still alive was the fact that his bone manipulation abilities supassed most of the members of his species. He had the power of a 200 year old Kaguyain at the very young age of 19, and that was saying something.
Most of them were women and children, he had been informed. That made it worse for him. Sukeruton hated killing but loved to fight for sport. And that was just it. Most of his moves, all of them being named after some kind of flower, were made for killing in one blow. This made things hard on him. but this had to be done. He could not reveal that he was not the warrior everyone thought he was. He would be hated by all and would have to leave to travel the world on his own. Even though that was the exact thing he wanted to do, their was buisness first.

((YAY! My first super cool post!)

TeaOfJay - February 17, 2008 04:53 AM (GMT)
Hayate sighed. He was going to be dragged into something, again. He would try to talk out of it, but since he was dealing with knights this time it would be difficult. Plus Kio seemed more than eager to prove himself to the knights. Well, might as well put out your intentions from the begining. "I don't really want to become a knight. I'm not interested in the lifestyle." Hayate said bluntly. He pulled out his Dual Edge, which in comparison to Kio's sword looked very odd. "However, if you want to see a fight, then I shall oblige." Hayate made sure to hold it as normal as possible. No need to show off the hidden katana to men you didn't feel like working with.

Bolts - February 17, 2008 06:04 AM (GMT)
"Actually I'd be more than happy to settle the whole thing over a simple drinking match but if that's not your style..." Kio muttered as he extended his arm out to his side. Upon doing so he flicked his right wrist, causing the two predator-like blades to fly out from their folded position on his forearm like a freshly sprung mouse trap. "Perhaps we can have that drink afterwards?" He grinned as he drew his right leg behind him and assumed his usual stance, the two claw-like blades covering his right arm drawn closely to his face.

TeaOfJay - February 17, 2008 06:11 AM (GMT)
Hayate didn't speak. Instead, he opted to start with a horizontal slash as his response. Considering the sword was a little on the large side, he had to rear back a little bit to put some strenght into the slash. Either way, it would do some damge; whether it was to Kio or the ground near him.

((Note: When I say "do some damage" I don't mean a critical hit. I just mean a shallow cut, or in the case of the ground a slight but obvious crack.))

Bolts - February 17, 2008 06:26 AM (GMT)
Kio lept back from the oncomming attack, sliding backwards on his righ knee as he came to a grinding halt. "Not much of a drinker I take it..." He grumbled before bringing his own blade behind him and charging straight for Hayate. Once he was about ten feet away he lept straight up and over the demon-boy as he spun around, swinging his blade down towards the boy. In doing so a large spiral of flames began to spew out from the blade in an attempt to fully engulf Hayate.

TeaOfJay - February 17, 2008 06:50 AM (GMT)
Hayate struck the ground where Kio had once stood. He grit his teeth as he looked up, seeing the spiral of fire coming towards him. He dragged the blade on the ground behind him, preparing for an upwards slash. As he slashed upwards he sent a mixture of water and earth at the spiral of fire; both of which were created using magic.

Bolts - February 17, 2008 07:05 AM (GMT)
The two forces collided, creating a mass of steam and dust as Kio landed behind Hayate and reassumed his stance. "Figures they'd pit me against an aquamancer......" Kio groaned before again launching himself back towards Hayate, this time without any visible flames being generated this time.

TeaOfJay - February 17, 2008 07:08 AM (GMT)
Hayate spun around and swung the sword for a horizontal slash, this time sending a small gust of wind towards Kio. "Actually, I can conjure more than just water. Although I'm still a novice at the art." Hayate said bluntly

Bolts - February 17, 2008 07:16 AM (GMT)
((With this being each of our's 4th post I believe we should let Athias determine the winner after this one as planned, agreed?))

By keeping low to the ground, Kio was able to barrel under the oncoming gust of wind. Once he was again withing range a small amount of fire began to swarm around his foot before he swung said foot up straight towards Hayate's chin.

Athias - February 17, 2008 03:03 PM (GMT)
Hayate & Kio:

"That's enough!" shouted the cloaked knight in an aggravated tone. "When I asked you to spar, I didn't mean try to kill each other! That boy, Hayate wins the match, he's shown just about as much skill as you Kio, but unlike you, he held back, and didn't try to incinerate his opponent!"

"...that being said," started the other knight, meekly, "you both did tremendously, so you both pass! You two are going to become knights! Now, unless you have any objections, we should get going immediatly, today will be a busy one."

Sukerton: (I just KNEW you would make you guy that much more powerful than the other Kaguya... you're powerful from battle experience of course, and I'll allow you to be more powerful than other Kaguya. But come on, as powerfull as a 200 year old, that better mean you're just capable of beating up a corpse...)

Still lost in thought, you barely realised it when you neared the small elf-camp. You and your brothers were filling up with a wonderfull feeling of bloodlust, this would be over quick. When suddenly, an ambush, 8 elves jumped out of the bushed and trees, already killing two of your men. They had evened the odds a bit, but they were still ragged and weary, and hopefully, they'd go down quickly.

(Note, try to allow your group-mates to kill some atleast, they're not useless. Also, auto hitting is allowed, but try to make it look like the elves put up some struggle, maybe even killing someone.)

Sukeruton - February 17, 2008 03:28 PM (GMT)
The elves had ambushed. To of the men had already been killed. Now They were about even. His brothers waited for a command from him.
"Scatter and attack!" They went in different directions. Kaguya were not known for stealth. Sure they could be very sneaky, but close combat was more their style. Suker potruded a bone arm out of his palm that was sharp and looked like a sword. The fighting had begun. A Kuguyian soilder slashed at an elf warrior. He fell back. The Kaguyian made ready to stab him in the arm to finish him, and as he did this, the elf sharply stabbed him in the same area as he came down on him(eww!). They both fell. The numbers had then in both groups even more. 3 Kaguyians left and two elves.
"Leave them to me." Suker ran. He extended his arm blade at one of the elves. The elf knocked the blade out of his hand. The elf smirked. Suker smirked right back. The happy face went off the elf's face. Suker pulled his sleeve down to reveal his arm. "Look closely." The elves looked. Small spikes of bone slowely rised out of his arm. He made a sharp jab at one of the elves. If you had been their and looking from the side, you would have seen Suker's arm go all the way through the elf. He took his blood hand out. And struck it through the other. They both fell. Even bigger spikes then before them came out of his arm and they ripped his entire arm off and in a matter of seconds, another arm not covered in blood had been their. he didn't like being messy for too long.

(I have a question. Does the planet have like technology and stuff. Like what we have. Or is it like medieval times but on a different planet?)

Athias - February 17, 2008 04:07 PM (GMT)
((Closer to mideval times, however, magic allows for more advanced technology than the middle-ages had to offer.))

TeaOfJay - February 17, 2008 04:32 PM (GMT)
Hayate put away his Dual Edge, looking at the Knights. "Like I said before: I have no interest in becoming a Knight." Then Hayate walked away, going home.

Bolts - February 17, 2008 06:34 PM (GMT)
"I'd like to have a drink first but if time is truly of the essence....." Said Kio as he again flicked his right wrist, causing the spring loaded blade to fold back over his forearm. He watched as Hayate left and questioned the boys reason for even fighting him in the first place. If he hadn't planned on becoming a knight then why bother fighting one?

Tahuman - February 18, 2008 04:34 AM (GMT)
Tahu's mind churned, if this man was responsible for these deaths than it would be pointless to fight him as losing was almost definite. Tahu turned and ran for the trees as fast as an elf could.

(Sorry about the lack of postings I'm assuming that I'm in the right place and that im not actually somewhere else for whatever reason)

Athias - February 19, 2008 02:33 AM (GMT)
((UGH! I just wrote three pages, three pages chock-full of quality I might add.))

((You know when I said characters would die? Yours would have if you decided to fight, no joke.))

Tahuman: (I made up the crapiness of the last post up to you with this!)

You were smart, but your group mates were not, as you began running away the man, they began running towards him. Everything after that point seemed to slow down, the man uttered a single word, in a dialect you had never heard before, which did not simply end, but echoed until it was to faint for your ears to pick up. For a brief second, the word seemed to take the shape of a character you had never seen, before truly fading from existence. However, as the word faded, so did your friends, who grew whiter and weaker with each passing second, until they were writhing on the ground like everyone else, merely emaciated outlines against the white ground. After that, you didn’t dare look back.

After what felt like days, you stopped running. Tired, hungry and hopelessly lost, you stopped and set up camp. Thankfully, the deer-meat which you had strapped to your back had not come loose, and would give you several days worth of food. You started a fire, cooked some of the deer, and began to eat, but with every bite you took, you began to cry more and more, until you were forced to spit out the chunk of meat or die choking on it. Hot tears ran down your face, and everything within half a mile must have heard your sobs, but you didn’t care, everyone was dead. You felt no guilt, as there was nothing you could have done, but that barely consoled you, and it certainly didn’t ease the sadness.

Once you had finally managed to cram some food into your mouth without choking on it, you realized how sore you were, your arms and legs were so stiff, you could barely move them. So, without further ado, you put out the fire and tried to get asleep, but to no avail. At first, it was merely the memories of the day that kept you up, but there was another problem, something was moving closer, you could here it in the rustlings of the bushes. It was no animal, it was moving to carefully and steadily, no, it was humanoid, and it was trying to sneak up on you. It was not the Man, you could tell, since it didn’t give off the same presence, one of emptiness and fear, but it could very well be a Kaguya. Very slowly and quietly, you grabbed your sword with your shaking hands. It was a broadsword, a very unusual weapon for an elf, but you were an unusually strong elf, due to your magic blood.

“Stop right there,” you shouted, jumping up just as the thing emerged from the bushes, “or I’ll use this.”

What you saw certainly was a Kaguya, but it wasn’t anything you had ever seen before either. (CONTINUED IN THE NEXT PART, READ ON TO GET THE FULL STORY)

Corsage:

The forest life was quite possibly the best sort of life your feeble-mind could think up off. To be surrounded by playful elves and beautiful wilderness, surely nothing was better than that. Then again, you had gotten yourself lost a while ago, and were relatively sure you had been moving around in a circle, especially since you passed that weird rock that looked like an elf five or six times. You had tried to talk to it the first three times you passed it, but it made such poor conversation you eventually decided it wasn’t worth your while. Honestly, you were beginning to grow bored, it had been months since the last time you met some elves, and the ‘beautiful wilderness’ begins to grow boring after the fifth or sixth time around.

However, it seemed like your day was beginning to look up, as a frenzied elf whizzed past you. You waved and said hello, but he, (if that was a he, elves didn’t have much of an obvious distinction between the sexes.) didn’t notice you or didn’t care. Intrigued, you decided to follow him, to see that he gave you a proper greeting; elves simply shouldn’t be that rude. Unfortunately, by the time you had caught up to him, he had started a fire, the sight of which had scarred you out of your wits, you ran away as quickly as you could. He didn’t notice you for the second time, but that was probably because he was being too loud to really hear anything else.

Several hours later, when you were able to track your steps back to the elf, the fire had thankfully gone out. With seemingly nothing to fear, you advanced, hoping to meet the elf and at least get him to acknowledge you. However, when you got close, eh sprang up with his sword at hand, and began yelling. “Stop right there,” he shouted, brandishing a sword that looked ridiculously large in comparison to his small, slim body, “or I’ll use this!”

You stuttered, so surprised that you were on the verge of tears, that is, if you were capable of making tears. “I, I just wanted to say hello,” you muttered softly.

Hayate: (This is technically Hayate and Kio, but Kio will be referred to in third person, since his role isn’t significant enough at the moment to warrant his own post.)

You stormed into your house, only to find your parent weren’t home, they were probably working out in the fields, a fate you would soon share with them. You knew farming wasn’t a glamorous job, but it was better than risking your life being a knight. Why couldn’t those knights get it into their heads that you didn’t want to join them? Honestly, even after you telling them off, they were still following you, try to get you to slow down and listen, as if they didn’t take the hint. Surprisingly, when you entered your house, so did they, you had a feeling that they meant no harm, but the fact that they had entered your home without your permission was unsettling. Actually, only one of them had followed you in, the other one, the younger one, was still outside with Kio, while the cloaked one was just standing there in front of the door, staring at you.

After an intensely awkward minute, the man finally started to talk. “Listen,” he said through chapped lips, his voice deep, “you’re not really going to become a knight. There is something much more important in store for you and that other boy. But no sane man would believe our tale, and for good reason. However, while I wish to wait until we head for safer grounds before I tell you it… away from prying ears.” That last part was said in a peculiar tone, as if directed towards someone other than you; however that was on the least of your mind. The knights words had both intrigued, and infuriated you, he had either lied to you about going to become a knight, or was lying to you about this. Then again, it didn’t seem like the man was lying this time, as his voice seemed to be full of nothing but honesty, and perhaps suspicion. “I know you don’t want to be a farmer,” the knight said, “and you won’t if you come with us. I can’t tell you much, but I can tell you one thing,” he paused, “you’re going to impact the world.”

“Now, leave this house,” the knight stated with such authority and urgency that you couldn’t help but obey. “Oh, and one more thing,” the knight started as you were leaving the door, “once you decide what to do, tell your decision to my partner, he’ll be waiting for your answer.”

(BTW, Bolts, you DID NOT overhear the conversation. Also, TJ, DON’T have your character to Bolt’s character, at least not for a bit. Also, I would like it if you’d join, I’m fine with you making a post on how you’re thinking about it and eventually decide to do it, but, yeah, it would be a lot easier if you just joined. Then again, you’ve helped me introduce dark’s character, if you read the following.)

Darkshmoe:

“Come out,” the cloaked man said as the boy left the house. “I know you’re there.” This was awful, the man had somehow managed to discover you, and after all your hard work not to be caught.

You had first started following the two men in to mountains, you couldn’t explain why you decided to, but something about them had you genuinely intrigued. Their very presence was comforting yet joyful, and you couldn’t help but let out a smile when you first laid eyes on them. They made quite a ridiculous looking pair, the joyful ‘knight’ with a pen as his house’s symbol, one you had never heard of before, and the solemn ‘knight’ who looked like a monk, clad in a dirty burlap cloak, which covered most of his body. They were to interesting to resist learning more about, so you had been stalking them for days, following them through shortcuts in the Dvarg underground tunnel system.

And, despite all your hard work in remaining concealed, the strange cloaked man was able to spot you or hear you. You hoped that he hadn’t really spotted you, just heard something and gotten paranoid, but those hopes were quickly dashed when he began knocking on the cupboard you were hiding in.

“How long have you known about me?” you asked him, sulking.

“Since you started following us in the mountains,” he grinned, “you’ve only started being useful to us now.”

Instead of muttering "I, I just wanted to say hello," Corsage dutifully stopped, as was his nature, and came to a smart salute, chest out, stomach in, eyes with pride, if that's what you wanted to call it. Corsage then realized what he was doing, and almost broke the salute, until h realized he was obeying, which was alright. then he realized he was obeying someone who was being mean, which wasn't- or was it? He became so confused that he dropped his spear and broke the salute. He stumbled after his obsidian pride, muttering curses to himself and apologizing to the elf simultaneously- quite the site to behold, for sure.

TeaOfJay - February 19, 2008 03:23 AM (GMT)
"Great, just freaking great." Hayate fummed, complely ignoring the knight that was right there. He turned towards the knight, then looked back at the house. "It's either spend my days as a farmer, or help out on a quest that could potentially get me killed. Gee, this is an easy choice to make." The last bit had a little sarcasim in it. He turned to the knight, and sighed deeply. "Alright. Count me in on whatever the hell it is you're having me do. It sure would be a hell of a lot better than staying here farming for ungrateful bastards." It would appear that Hayate didn't think much of the knight, and showed his "true" self, so to speak.

Tahuman - February 19, 2008 05:58 AM (GMT)
Tahu lowered the broadsword as the kaguya stepped from the forest. He then sheathed his sword and apologized "sorry, It's just that I am rather tense at the moment" He then sat back down next to the ashes of the fire. "I apologize for threatening you, I am simply afraid that the man may come back. I realized you were not he as soon as I sensed you but I was merely erring on the side of caution." "What is your name?"

(Better?)

A brief muffled laughter came from the cupboard as the being moved away from the twin doors he had leaning on, humans were always so confident and commanding, the small Dvarg knew his own race could be at times, but they knew plenty more then most of these smaller species. Men acted as if they knew everything even when they knew so little, but the knight did deserve some credit for spotting him. Even since the mountains, it could be a lucky bluff but the spy couldn’t be sure. The feat deserved a small reward, the tiny creature shoved open the cupboard door the man had been knocking on, it only open a small way, despite no-one being in the near vicinity natural instinct made Derek cautious. But the gap was enough to reveal the Dvarg, standing upright with slight intrigue on his face as he stared up at the cloaked knight.

The knights had odd duties, he had spied and followed enough of them to know that they were where the power lied in the human kingdom, several plans and last resorts had been made in case the human race ever threatened the hidden Dvarg world, several poison specialists could be in position quickly to assassinate those at the top. But the ignorant peace they held was enough to satisfy the tiny peoples leaders, they were mere precautions. Still, Derek has heard few tales of a knight actually spotting a Dvarg and now that he had been found out he felt a little ashamed of himself, but this was covered by the interesting situation he was in.

“A Dvarg doesn’t work for a human unless there is some benefit for them. If you know enough to spot me, you should realise this. Though why you’ve allowed me to continue tailing you is a mystery to me, most knights are awfully paranoid about their work.” The same could be said about Dvarg spies, but he couldn’t care less for sounding like a hypocrite. “But, you’ve stated that I have some ‘use’, and I’m oddly intrigued. Explain.” Doing something for a human was not frowned upon by the Dvarg race if it brought gain to them, or at the least did not harm their existence.

Corsage hurriedly picked up his spear, then snapped back into his salute, only to drop it again after getting asked another question. He picked it up slowly this time, and didn't go back into salute.

"You . . . name? My name, you mean? Of course! Sorry, sorry, I'm . . . Corsage. And you are . . .?" Corsage answered the man, a slow question from a slow witted golem.

Kio stood outside with the other knight and waited for the cloaked one to return. "I don't see why we should be bothering this guy.....If he didn't want to become a knight then why are you and your friend in there so keen on forcing him into it?" He grumbled more and more as he crossed his arms and tapped his fingers across his forearms. "Maybe its just me but none of what we're doing now seems very 'knightly'."

Tahuman - February 21, 2008 06:00 AM (GMT)
"Tahuman" replied Tahu. "It's an odd name I know but I like it. "Listen, would you happen to know where a city might be? I've never been farther than this from the village before but now that the village is gone I may as well move to somewhere safer". Then he turned and poked at the ashes of the fire attempting to find a spark with which to relight the fire.

0ctane - February 22, 2008 12:03 AM (GMT)
"Uhm, no, I don't think I . . . do? Do I?" Corsage had a dim memory of a city, and he started to get it back, until he sparked the fire. He dropped his spear a third time and ran behind a tree, pointing his finger.

"St-stop it!" He stammered, his deep voice shaky.

"Is something wrong?" Tahu asked. He stopped trying to light the fire and turned a little to see Corsage. Are you afraid of something? Then he stopped and said "Oh, the fire, Are you afraid of the fire?", "Is that it?"

((This update contains serious amount of suck, I had to get it done though…))
Derek:
“Only a few miles away from this village is a small forest, home to the Fae… among other things.” The Knight began, reaching into his pocket, “I need you to go to the very center of that forest, and tell me what you see.”

The task sounded like a simple one, though you wondered why the knight couldn’t do it himself, surely he didn’t need you in particular to do this for him. “Why can’t you do it,” you asked, some what puzzled.

The Knight grinned, “I thought you’d ask that,” he said cheerfully, “you see, humans would stand no chance in that forest, the Fae, being the tricksters that the are, would use their magic to alter the path if they saw humans coming, leading them back to where they started from, or worse. If the Fae see you, they’ll pay you no heed, since they’ll think of you as one of their own, and let you pass safely, as they do with any of the small folk. That being said, there are even worse things lurking deeper in the forest, the place is guarded by hungry vampires, who would gladly make a meal out of any human. But you’re so small that you wouldn’t be worth their time, and they’ll let you pass unharmed.”

After another few seconds of rummaging through it, the knight pulled a small brown bag out of his cloak, and handed it to you.

“You must only open this bag three times,” the knight said solemnly, “the first time you must open it is when you are ready to venture into the forest, the second time you must open is when the Fae begin to suspect you are not of their kin, the third when you are confronted by the Final guardians of the forest. Open it only three times, and only when the time is ripe, or else…”

“If you complete this task, you will be rewarded greatly, so if you choose to accept, open the bag for the first time, and begin your journey.” The knight walked out, leaving you to decide what to do.

((2 things:
1. The bag will teleport you to the forest.
2.THIS POST SUCKS SO MUCH))

Sukerton:
The outcome was pretty bad, but not entirely unexpected. Out of your ten-man squad, only three survived the attack. The Elves, despite their weakened state, had managed to kill seven of your men. The sad fact was, the elves were stronger than the Kaguya, they were better trained, and better prepared for battle, and their numbers were much greater. In addition, the Kaguya were starving, plague and famine were constant threats in the swamp, where the deer were scarce and mosquitoes ran rampant. Luckily, after you had killed the elven warriors, there were no more fatalities on your side. The women and children proved to be no threat, and aside from their screams, died painlessly (for you of course.).

However, you weren’t content, another was here not to long ago, judging by the tracks, it was that golem. You had seen him often during battles and spying on elf-camps. He was a friend to the elves, and that alone was enough reason to kill him. You told your surviving men to wait at the camp, you wanted to take this one out personally.

((Continued in next post.))

Tahuman (Also corsage, I didn’t feel like doing an individual post for you, sicne I just want to finish this one.):

As you were making Idle chatter with the rather slow flower-golem, a pervasive scent seemed to fill the air. It was a familiar scent, but after everything you had gone through, you weren’t able to identify it. Regardless, it got your blood racing, and you held your fingers up to the golem’s mouth in a shushing motion, listening for the source of the smell. After a minute, you heard it, it start out as a faint rustling and grew louder, as the smell grew stronger, someone was coming, and you had remembered what the scent was. It was the scent of a Kaguya, one filled with the scents of the swamp and bloodlust. You got your sword ready, and just in time, as the Kaguya leapt out of the bushes, going at Corsage. ((Rules- same as before, no godmodding, and only 3 posts per person, since it’s 2v1, this should be over fast…))

(((The Two humans don’t get an update, I’m still considering how to do what I plan to do with them. Also, Dark_Alfa’s role has been determined; he just won’t join until later.))

((And yes this post sucks, I whole-heartedly apologies, and next post WILL be better. Until then, I need to advance the storyline.))

Tahuman - February 26, 2008 03:54 AM (GMT)
Tahu grabbed his broadsword and leapt towards the Kaguya with a powerful backhand swing yet slightly clumsy as he had not been expecting the attack from that direction. No matter though, it would at least strike a blow if not a serious one (He might miss or hit it could be either)

Sukeruton - February 26, 2008 08:58 PM (GMT)
Sukerton quickly readied to swing at the Golem with his needle peirced arm, when an elven warrior swung at him first. Sukerton stopped his attack. Out of his stomach protruded severel spikes looping inward on each other, as to make the bone formation look like a small bird cage. This defensive manuver was done by him to trap the elfs sword in it as to leave it vunerable to attack. He had about a 75% chance of success and... the fish took the bait. The elf's sword was caught in the bones and now he would be ready to attack.

Tahuman - February 26, 2008 09:29 PM (GMT)
Tahuman was caught by surprise as the bones wrapped around his sword and, muttering a quick incantation, he transported himself into the void and the sword as well. He moved his position and then materialized behind the kaguya with a well aimed powerful vertical strike to cleave it in half!

(Meaning starting from above the head and swinging down. Not the other way around.)

(It'll definitly hit but death is avoidable if you manage to realize what's happening and dodge to the left or the right. You might lose an arm though :D)

The bag was slightly larger than Derek had wished it to be, he could carry it, but traversing through a forest was going to be a hassle. But stating that would be a sign of weakness, the spy fully intended to showcase his race as reliable; talk of improving relations with humans had been a muster in the long cave dwellings, it was argued that the humans shared the same interests as the Dvarg, riches and advancement, even if they were deemed ‘inferior’. It was also that same interest which drove his desire to not ask questions, again reliability, but simply whistled.

As the Dvarg let out the sharp note, a lizard scurried from the wall, having remained unnoticed in a high ceiling corner since he had first followed the knight in. The creature was aware of the sudden alliance, despite its masters insistence of remaining hidden for so long when near the knights. As the Dvarg spy began to climb up, the gecko lowered itself to a squat. Derek was not sure whether the knight was aware that his kind used such steeds, or had ever seen such a large type of its species; though it was likely his new client did, he’d known about being trailed and seemed to have some knowledge.

“I accept, and expect the good reward, I can’t say some of the trinkets you carry haven’t caught my eye.” Some plans had been thrown about in his small head, but it was against policy when spying. “And extra for any dire event I may have to put up with.”

Without waiting for a response, the spy opened the bag, planning to peer inside and get an idea, all the while his steed launching away and towards the door. It was only when the lizard came to a quick halt that he bothered to look up from the unfortunately empty bag, he had presumed a set up. Instead he got an eye full of forest.

The lizard had stopped as the end of a long thick branch, cracked and old but still holding. An ancient looking brown and well weathered greens which sprung from each tree, in their own right enormous compared to those you found in human settlements. Each tree had its own shade and withered bark, old trees of many varieties all gathered up in the forest. Dvarg’s tended to live in cave settlements or mountain retreats, rarely did one step deep into the forest unless spying on forest dwellers. However, this forest did share some qualities of a cave, the sky was hidden by a thick roof of leaves and vines, and the floor covered with mosses and stones.

And not a single Fae or other creature in sight.

Derek and his gecko simply stayed still, the spy scanning the deep structure of the over hanging vegetation, the lizard squatting low as if resting. The stillness only kept for a short time, the steed drew the riders attention to it first, a great furry creature on four legs came scouring from out of a large shrub. An oversized wolf, baring its teeth and picking its way through the many roots and branches which seemed to create the floor of the forest, just above the mossy floor. As predicted, it paid no attention to the lizard perching up high, not even spotting its rider, instead lurching away slowly.

A sharp kick and they were gone, the lizard launching at a surprising pace from the branch look out and crawling through the vast network of wood and vines, the rider of constant alert for signs of life, whilst holding the magical bag close, remembering when he was supposed to use and disregarding the though of taking a peek before then.

((Guess I'll just traverse him through the forest till you want some event to occur.))
