Title: 8 Stages Of Blood
Description: Prepare to Decide Fate, Let's Dance

Edwurdo - November 5, 2007 05:00 PM (GMT)
This game is a simple series of 1 Vs. X number of opponents in increasing difficultly. Anyone familiar with the 'Arcade' mode of most fighting games will understand how this might work

I had planned to do a simple one-on-one against anyone who wanted a go of this, but I decided that since I'm a fighting game nerd of rather high caliber, a series of 8 battles against different opponents may be more suitable considering that I love the genre. Besides, doing this way lets me work on 8 characters, rather then just one :D

"8 Stages Of Blood" is a series of eight separate battles with randomly selected opponents from my own list of original characters. I have plenty of characters, so if I decide to do this a second time, the opponents won't be the same. Special opponents exist on Stages 4 and 8, and if you should be able to do well enough, you might get a chance at the Extra Stage too :D

If you want to attempt the 8 Stages Of Blood then you may do so by using the profile below. Anyone who wants to try can enter, but I decide who's first. If I don't pick you even though you posted first, no hard feelings, it's not because I don't like you

Name:
Appearance:
Weaponry:
Abilities:
Command List:
Special Strikes: (MAX. = 6)
Special Moves are character-specific standard attacks
You can pull these kind of moves off whenever you're not being injured
Examples include Ryu's Hadoken and Rugal Bernstein's Genocide Cutter

Chaos Drives: (MAX. = 3)
Chaos Drives are super-powered, energy consuming attacks
These moves will require a certain amount of special power to perform but are very strong
Examples include Sol Badguy's Tyrant Rave and Sagat's Tiger Genocide

Finishing Touch: (MAX. = 1)
The Finishing Touch is the ultimate execution move that can be activated under certain conditions
You may choose to attempt such a move when the conditions are met
FTs are like the Instant Kills of Guilty Gear, or the Fatalities of Mortal Kombat

That's pretty much all you will need. My characters (Your opponents) will not be introduced, you'll find out and learn about their abilities and powers when you fight them

Few important things to remember:
  • All battles are one round, no time limit. No ifs or buts or about it. You must either win, or face the GAME OVER screen
  • After I post my retaliation to your attack. I'll post the Life level for both players, plus their Chaos Ability (Super Meter). Take note of the changes to your opponent's life level, and see what deals the most damage to them
  • No matter how hard your opponent may be, they all have a weakness of some kind. Try to figure it out and exploit it
  • Do remember that the Mid-Boss (Stage #4) and End-Boss (Stage #8) will have some kind of advantage, or be very strong. Don't complain about it, bosses in fighting games are MEANT to hard as nails
  • For the love of Christ. NO SCRIPT RP. AT ALL. Actually put some effort into your posts, describing your choice of attacks/tactics in detail. No one-sentence post bullshit either
  • Don't get pissy if I don't choose you. If this goes well, I might decide to do it again
  • If I do pick you, then try to have fun with this. I enjoy writing stuff concerning my characters and hopefully you'll be the same
If there is anything else that should be added, let me know. Typical profile info like Age and that I left out since they're not exactly relavent. But if you believe they reall are needed, add them

((Well, I somehow doubt anyone else will offer to take part and I' rather get this thing started sooner rather then later, so here we go~))

The steel blocks slide and crash gently into one another, their positions forming a grid of metal cubes. The world around them reeking of a heavy industrial theme with dark metal overtones, gears and cogs shift behind steel plating as the boxes began to stir.

The lid of each container rolls away, and the sound of simple machinery is heard, along with the combined sound of moans and growls. The heads of many individuals begin to slowly peer above the sides of the crates, soon the surfaces of the myriad of crates are covered with the figures of many fighters, each one more bizarre and dangerous then the last. Some are here to fight for love, others to fight for justice, some for power, some for revenge, some for honor. Regardless of their motives, there is little doubt that any of them would hesitate to maim or even kill whomever stands against them in their respective quests

Within the darkness of the area, a single light shines upon a single figure. The light shifts from one warrior to the next, until it illuminates a bald figure near the back rows of combatants. It changes its hue from red to gold as the name of the chosen figure is spoken out loud by a female voice with a heavenly and angelic tone that contrasts to the dank and dinginess of the massive room

"Nevermore..." speaks the voice, her tone gentle and pure. Another light appears and acts in the same strange behavior as the one that selected the madman. The light chooses its warrior, a man wrapped in leather and belt, his face hidden behind a gas mask and filthy, stringy hair smelling of wet dog. The voice announces his name as before

"Rolando..." the voice says as the light changes color from blue to gold. The other fighters vanish almost instantly and darkness engulfs the entire room

When the light returns, the two opponents find themselves face to face, little more then a few meters from the other. The lust for violence can be seen in each others eyes, burning brightly against the shabby and dull streets they find themselves upon. Completely ignorant of the state of the street and the blood that has already been split here, the two wait patiently for the command to do battle

The voice makes itself heard

"Time of Judgment... Prepare to decide fate... Let's dance~"

The Madman cackled with glee at the chance to have some fun. When he saw his opponent though, he frowned in disappointment. That mask made it too hard to see the emotion the madman craved so much, it would have to go eventually. Still, just because he was crazy, didn't mean he didn't know how to fight. First priority would be to create an opertunity. Nevermore lunged forward ad swung an arm attempting to wap his opponent up for a Twisted Fate.

Edwurdo - November 7, 2007 05:31 PM (GMT)
The gas-masked man stepped back, lifting himself off the ground by a few inches, avoiding the attempted attack. The moment he regained his footing, the man known only as Rolando curled up, then suddenly arched back, revealing two hands fulls of knives, sparks of a brilliant gold color surged through the blades, an obvious hint that they were no normal knives

"Die!" Rolando said, despite the dry and raspy tone of his voice, it was easy to tell that he was much younger then her looked, young adult at least. Rolando flung both handfuls of knives towards the madman one at a time, hoping to catch him off guard as he recovered from his attempt to wrap him up

((Ugh, sorry, been sick))

Nevermore was barely able to bring his arms backn into a guarding position for the first wave of knives. The second, on the other hand, he simply leaned backwards, bending at the ankle, or was that the lower shin? Regardless dodge the second hadful of knives and lifted himself back upright, cackling like, well, a madman. He then curled up and launched himself at his opponent in an Insanity Roll.

Edwurdo - November 14, 2007 09:54 PM (GMT)
Rolando hopped back twice more, arching his hands behind his back. He pulled forth two more batches of his knives and threw them directly into the ground at his feet, the spark of gold power flowed through them, illuminating the dirty roadway where the blades had found home. Rolando smirked behind his mask, his sly laughter could be heard along with the disturbing noise he made naturally whenever he breathed

"Eat this..." he said as he crouched down and jumped up, throwing his belt strapped and leather-clad figure high into the air. The moon in the distant sky glowed behind him in mid-air, forming his pitch black silhouette flawlessly

~ Terrible aim or cunning plan? Oh my!

duskstalker - November 15, 2007 04:29 PM (GMT)
The madman loked at the knives briefly. He didn't really understand their significance, but he did understand his opponent's emotions. Confidence, for now, likely meant he had a plan. It would be best to hold back for a moment and see what time does to the opponent's mood.

((Now, the question is, were you baiting me over the knives, or avoiding your own ground-affecting attack?))

Edwurdo - November 16, 2007 04:24 PM (GMT)
Giving no thought to the possible consequences, Rolando landed, ducked down, and curled forwards, twisting his legs and ankles, aiming himself towards his opponent, a spark of power formed in the tiny patch of ground behind his feet

"Murder... HOUSE OF LOVE!" he screamed, as an aura of blue energy and light shone brightly, announcing the use of one of Rolando's Chaos Drive attacks. The tarmac behind his feet exploded as he threw himself forwards, the force of the blast adding to his initial momentum. His skinny figure flew at Nevermore, he pulled out two knives, longer and more serrated then his usual choice of throwing knives and raised them above and behind his head. Surely an attack with a name made up of the word 'Murder' was one best avoided, especially as the attacker seems driven by adrenaline and the urge, no, the absolute need to cause pain

With the speed of his attack, the chances of avoiding such a technique were slim, counter-attacking even less so...
