In some undertermined time period, humans are forced to live underground for reasons that they themselves don't know. Only the few brave ones that dare venture above ground mostly end up being killed. The ones that do survive are forced to fight day after day against the Beastmen hunting them. The Beastman, a mix between animal and human, pilot a mech known as a Ganmen. A Ganmen can easily be described as a giant face by those not in the know.

Those that live underground have to fear earthquakes that might kill them, which are caused by Ganmen. Some dig to expand their respective villages. Most people would only have contact with those in their own village, as the villages are very widespread.

This is a story of a man who has yet to realize the scope of his destiny.

Species

Human
Standard human. Can work mechanics, fire arms, and mostly drills and other tools. Most live underground except for the few that live in Leora Village. Also have the ability to pilot Ganmen at night using "Fighting Spirit", as it's dubbed, unlike Beastmen.

BeastMan
As the name would probably tell you, they are animals that have a human appearance. A better term for them is "furries". They pilot Ganmen, but they can't pilot them at night. The reason has yet to be explained.

Villages

Jiha Village
A bright village, and first home for Sen, the main character of this story. The village is actually nice, having electricity and mole pigs for meat. It's a nice peaceful place... That is, until a Ganmen falls from above.

Leora Village
Essentially an armory, filled with weapons that most humans have never seen before. The people living here all know how to fight, or are considered expert mechanics. They spend most of their days fighting Ganmen.

"Face-God" Village
Basically, the village is filled with followers of the Face-God, which is really just a really old broken down Ganmen. The village has a rule that only supports 50 people. Any more, and they are "Released into Heaven", as it is called.

Capitol
Not really a village, but it's the only civilization where all Beastmen come from. Humans don't obviously know about this place. The Beastmen all answer to five people: The Spiral King, and the Four Heavenly Generals.

Ganmen
Ganmen are giant mechs whose torso looks like a face. The face can move while the pilot is talking, for a more realistic feel in battle(Or so we think). Humans and Beastmen can pilot Ganmen, but only Humans can pilot them at night. The reason why is unknown, but many theorize that it has to do with one's "Fighting Spirit", which Beastmen don't seem to have.
