Title: Elements of Art

Xa Far - August 26, 2007 06:46 AM (GMT)
Finally saw it a good idea to dump all my stuffs into one topic rather than make a new one each time.

Character Bin
Yan Athy
1(Sketch)- *sigh* I know I've been trying to refuse it, wanting at least one character to not greatly change from the original idea, but her is the newest look of Yan Athy.

Benjamin R. Colkinson
1(Sketch)- As good as it is said to be by others, I'm still quite disappointed with several things in this one, mainly the face, arms, and legs... Oh well. I guess it at least shows some improvements.

Elizabeth L. Kyrles
(sketch)(Corel-ed)- Probably the best one I've got so far.

Creature Bin
Skeletal Wyvern(GotSK)(Sketch)- Originally, this was just supposed to be one of those things that I draw that looks cool and all, but lacks any true purpose. Fortunately, I've decided a great place to put it to use. Any of ya'll who keep close tabs on the RP section can expect to see this 'little' doozy in combat soon...

???1- Not too sure what to call it at the moment. Kind of intresting, but not quite the kind of creature I was wanting to make. Still, I've heard some good things about it, so I'll probably use this 'thing' again somewhere.

???2- Again not too sure what to call it at the moment. Didn't turn out as well as I hade hoped, but gives a better idea of how to make it next time should there ever be a next.

Weapons Bin
(sketch)- Only one of the strange hybrid weapons that my mind has put to gether. This one being a combination of a revolver and a sniper rifle. Since I'm not too creative with weapon names or titles right now, this one will go nameless.

Chain Harvest- The latest in examples of unholy mixes that occur in my head. All it took to spark this was overhearing the words scythe and chainsaw in the same sentence. A few minutes later I had this.

Vehicle Bin
Triclops Dropship- An starting shot at larger crafts. Mostly it’s based off the Pelican with a few other bits thrown in. Over all, it’s an idea I hope to keep and use soon.

Art class Bin
Skull-Done back at Halloween, mostly it was practice in value. Personally I like how it turned out.

Haunted House -Also done at Halloween time. Would have made it better, but I wanted to hurry up and draw the skull, so it was rushed, which is why there’s fewer windows than there should be.

Ink-Completely done using a fountain pen and ink. Some details are iffy, but a good picture none the less. Also it’s a small preview to something I have in store, but more on that later…

Paper Cutout-Based on that weird circle thingy that was in my avy a while back

Thumbnail sketches for cutout-Just the sketches done before doing the cutout above. Thought it looked interesting enough to show

Ancient Bin (Basically, this is where I shall put some of my oldest, more embarrassing pictures that I've drawn. Every odd number of pages this topic gets up to, I will fill this bin with another picture)
-view at your own risk-
???- *Grumble grumble* How I ever thought that was really good is way beyond me, however, I am quite glad that I kept this eyesore. Why you might ask and the answer being that from this pore image of a small Link-like character came the current Xa Far as well as the start of Oka Mora.

So there's some of my more resent stuff. More will come eventually as well as some being CORELed (<--My Photoshop equivalent) for improvements.

Please C&C

I like the new stuff, and the old.... we all have skeletons in our closets.

I have 42.

Anyways, I like the picture of Ben, it looks the best, to me. The one of Yan Athy looks a little awkward, don't know why though.

Only two more to show for now. Both are only early sketches, but I think they’re fairly interesting.

Triclops Dropship- An starting shot at larger crafts. Mostly it’s based off the Pelican with a few other bits thrown in. Over all, it’s an idea I hope to keep and use soon.

Chain Harvest- The latest in examples of unholy mixes that occur in my head. All it took to spark this was overhearing the words scythe and chainsaw in the same sentence. A few minutes later I had this.

Regarding your Elizabeth picture, the coloring you did looks fantastic. Very clean and vibrant.
If I may say, the pose looks a bit stiff, but other than that, very nice work. Good detail, simple and direct shading, and a nice composition to the character.

Good job, man.

Got more stuff to show, all of it done in art class.

Skull-Done back at Halloween, mostly it was practice in value. Personally I like how it turned out.

Got two free time pics finished this time and a look into my concept sketches

Concept 1- Not much on this one, but I thought it was good enough to show, mainly for the large truck-like vehicle I call a Mammoth.

Concept 2- Several more crafts including earlier Mammoth sketches, improving the Triclops, a nameless Frigate, and a space craft titled the Terra. As long as things keep going smoothly and my ideas keep flowing, I should be able to include all of these things in an RP or story, shootin’ for the RP, but if that falls face first then it’s off to plan B.

A scene...- Not necessarily an image for my head, but from a friend. He gave me the details of how he wanted it and this is the outcome.

Night Eyes- Probably could’ve done it better if I could remember where I put my bloody ruler, but none the less one of my better works if I do say so myself.

P.S.- sorry for the gihugent

Abord the Mammoth- (Follow link for picture and my comment on it, I just hope I didn't make a DA noobish mistake in linking *Crosses fingers hoping link works*)

Sketched page of above pic

What's with the smilies in the sketch?

Wow, that looks really good. Her left arm is slightly thin, and her hands are a bit small going from there, but the coloring is pretty damn amazing. A bit thicker lineart would have been preferred, but it still- that's great.

And there's some messed up coloring in the background, but, ya know, that's alright since you "half-assed" it.
