Alright... here goes... I have this friend that i've known for a while, a pretty good friend. He's had a rough life. His pregnant wife shot herself in front of him, he's had relationship after relationship end in tears. Earlier this year, he's had a meeting planned with an online friend that he's grown attached to. From what I hear, she had a relationship going that was a little rocky. Her partner had proposed before, but she turned them down. For the longest time my friend was worried that her partner would propose again, and she'd say yes, basically meaning she couldn't see him. That worry passed, as her relationship ended just a week or so ago.

Now comes the worse part. Now he has a court summons for credit problems in the area of 2,000 dollars. At the moment, he's a little between jobs because of an old drug charge, and it is likely he'll get sent to jail, missing his appointment with her some three months down the road. Because of this, he came to me earlier saying that if he gets jailtime that would cause him to miss her, he'll kill himself... i've spent the better part of the day trying to talk to him, but he won't listen to me.

At this point i'm at the end of my rope... i need to know just what the high holy hell i can do!
