I just stuck a phone jack in my mouth and started sucking on it. I shocked myself twice before I started to feel pain and pulled the Darn thing out.
What the hell is wrong with threshold for pain?

As for Pain Threshold, it isn't something that comes naturally, it is learned. The body adapts to minor pains so that it can become more efficient. Simple things that it encounters everyday, like stubbing your toe, or muscle burn. If you're doing thing like sucking on a live electrical wire everyday, you will adapt to the pain. This of course doesn't mean you aren't being hurt by it, you just wont notice it right away.

If it rings while you're sucking on that thing, you're probably going to die. Just a heads up.

This reminds me of that time I liked to put 9v batteries in my mouth. When I was, what? 5?

I don't do that anymore. Numbing one's ability to taste makes one find another hobby.

Just so you know, I didn't start sucking on it consciously or anything. I have some sort of oral fixation(No jokes plz) from way back in pacifier days, so I'm constantly chewing or sucking on something. The phone jack probably wasn't even the weirdest thing, just the most dangerous. Pens, hangers, velcro, my cellphone, those are all things I can remember that somehow ended up in my mouth without me consciously putting them there.

Maybe its your mind subconciously trying to remove you from the genepool for the good of all mankind?

Or maybe your an electrical fanatic like me...

...Err, how old are you? 14? Surely by that age you have to learn to expect the occasional neurotransmitter misfire. We all have those, "why the HECK did I do that?" or "What the HECK was I thinking?" moments.

I've had my share...watching "Shin Chan", googling "Renamon", eating NECCO products...
