Title: TFS League Match: Bascillus vs Davin

SketchedHero - June 8, 2007 03:36 PM (GMT)
Tatooine. A world of a binary star system, located in the Arkanis Sector of the Outer Rim Territories. It is characterized by its being covered by one large desert, and being one of the harshest of planets in the known galaxy. Thousands of moisture farms dot its surface, providing water for the planet's inhabitants.

It was in one of these farms that Davin Odyssomai, a young Jedi Knight, chose to spend his day. The Force had drawn him here, though the reason why was unclear. It was completely deserted, although the equipment was still running well. Clearly the farm's owners left in a hurry. Dozens of vaporators lined one side of the settlement, while adobe style houses and other buildings lined the other. A large wall, probably designed to keep out thieves and Tusken Raiders, surrounded the entire farm, with a gate at the front as the only entrance. Miles of desert surrounded the settlement on all sides, making escape without transportation impossible.

Davin turned his speeder bike off and hopped off, scanning the area through his blindfold. Nothing seemed out of place, aside from the lack of farmers, but the Jedi knew that, if the Force had led him here, there must have been a reason. So, he sat in the shade of a rather tall house towards the center, and crossed his legs, taking up a meditative pose. The obvious presence of the Force was calming, as he let it flow through him.

((There it is. So, I guess you can just enter however you please.))

0ctane - June 8, 2007 06:11 PM (GMT)
A black lizard type creature scurried under the speeder bike, taking shelter from the fierce Tatooine sun. Soon after getting under the bike, the lizard's skin started to bubble and wriggle, and suddenly a black scaly gorilla worth spikes on its back replaced the lizard, rabies foaming from the mouth and sharp filed teeth. It even had red eyes.

Bascillous' new body was to large to fit under the bike, and so knocked it flying with the force of the change. He had already spotted the Jedi, and he didn't plan on letting him leave Tatooine in one piece. Two maybe, but not one.

The Gorilla began to change shape, his skin mimicking that of the lizard's, forming into the scaled human/snake thing Bascillous favored most. The scaled man lifted a clawed hand, and smiled, showing sharp, long teeth. He pulled a long sharp claw across his neck, and started to walk towards the jedi at a leisurely pace. Bascillous would toy with his opponent before ending his stay in Tatooine.

((You can say how thew Speeder bike landed, since you could plausibly get up and stop it from landing violently. . .))

((. . .And a highspeed fight through Tatooine would possibly be one of the coolest things ever.))

SketchedHero - June 8, 2007 10:45 PM (GMT)
Davin sensed movement to his far right, and threw his hand instinctively in that direction. With the help of the Force, he managed to slow the fall of his speeder, then flip it to an upright position. This distraction had ripped his mind from its state of concentration, which was something that he didn't exactly appreciate. His mission, it seemed, would have to be put on hold for the time being.

The young Jedi stood from his silent meditation, brushing the sand from his pants and tabard. It seemed that something had been responsible for knocking his means of transportation over, whether it was accidental or on purpose. Davin scanned the area with his Force Sight, and found the one who had caused the disturbance. A humanoid, with dark scaley skin, and intimidating red eyes. Probably a frightening creature to behold for those of weaker minds than himself, but he pushed any thoughts of fear aside, and greeted the approaching... Thing.

"Hello." He stated, keeping a neutral tone. However, he could tell that the creature's intentions were far from neutral.

0ctane - June 8, 2007 10:53 PM (GMT)
"And good day to you, Sir Knight. I would enlighten you of my purpose, but it would do you no good." Said Bascillous in a heavy, deep voice, yet it was oddly snakelike in tone. Bascillous continued his slow pace, and unless something happened, walked all the way to Davin, smiling. If he reached the Jedi, his left hand would move from his side and into Davin's left shoulder.

((I obviously didn't leave.))

SketchedHero - June 8, 2007 11:00 PM (GMT)
((Yeah, I guessed as much.))

Davin watched as Bascillous moved ever closer, hoping that his Force-given senses would kick in, should he need them. They did, and the young Jedi twisted his entire left side backwards, out of the path of the serpent-like opponent's claw attack. He then used his own left hand to further block his opponent's hand from sweeping into his side. Shifting his weight, he pivoted sideways, then threw the heel of his right foot towards the thing's chest, backing the whole attack up with a gust of Force Push.

0ctane - June 8, 2007 11:09 PM (GMT)
When Davin grabbed the hand, he felt it bubbled and wriggle, and suddenly becoming like that of a sword. Bascillous Right hand flew in front of the kick aimed for the chest, and took the full blow, cracking the bone inside.

The Demon's arm with the cracked bone began to wriggle and bubble, reforming into a sword as well. Bascillous stopped smiling. It was obvious it hurt, and that the kick would have probably killed him.

"This poses as a problem, little knight." Came the deep voice, as Bascillous pulled his left hand/sword back, rolling his shoulders and shrugging off the fact that his 'life' had been threatened. As a demon you don't really 'live', per say, you just are'.

((See, Bascillous can die if you kill the body he's in, or knock it unconscious and he'll be forced to retreat (AKA sucked back into Hell). He's hard core.))

SketchedHero - June 8, 2007 11:31 PM (GMT)
((Sounds like it... Also, I didn't grab your arm, I simply held my hand up in a block to avoid further attack. I probably should have been more specific.))

Davin was thankful that the attack had proven such a success, and would have backed it up with another, but was now presented with another problem. His opponent had apparently turned his entire left arm into some kind of sword, which certainly appeared to be able to do some damage. This was obvious when Davin took a quick glance at his palm, which was now bleeding from a cut he had received when blocking.

Instead of taking the offensive, Davin decided to do the opposite. The Jedi jumped backwards, curling into a somersault, then landed neatly about ten meters from where he had jumped. Immediately he assumed a defensive pose, his left leg pointing forward, the other back and pointed to his side, with his arms in similar positions.

"Your arm-to-sword trick comes as a surprise to me, sir, so I must even the odds a bit." He said, lowering one of his hands towards his belt.

A small, white, curved hilt floated off of the belt, landing neatly in his right hand, which then gripped it firmly. The hilt let out a lout crack-hiss, and quickly birthed a long, yellow blade. He grabbed the hilt firmly in both hands, then raised it above his head, pointing it at the lizard-man.

0ctane - June 8, 2007 11:43 PM (GMT)
Bascillous knew that the Jedi would use his saber at some point, and had prepared for the moment. The second Davin leaped back, the Lizard Man's body started to wriggle and bubble, and was suddenly replaced by a large spider, which leaped into the air and onto the side of the wall, as Bascillous waited for his newly formed web making spider abdomen to make the required liquids. Bascillous could mimic body parts, but couldn't add anything else- AKA, no web-making juices yet.

((When Bascillous changes, he sort of Molts, but the body he loses sort of explodes in a Gorey mess that disintegrates before it touches the ground.

Just thought I'd mention that.))

SketchedHero - June 9, 2007 12:55 AM (GMT)
The young Jedi stood, rooted to the spot. Although it was hidden by his blindfold, he was staring quite wide-eyed at his seemingly new opponent. The transformation that the creature had brought about itself was more extensive than any changeling he had ever encountered. Not only had it changed in appearance, but also in size.

The scariest thing about this was that it seemed to have been planned out by the creature, being triggered by his wielding of the lightsaber. This meant that the thing had probably planned its being here in the first place, and probably meant to bring the fight with him, as well. Of course, if he did know that Davin had a lightsaber, then what else did he know?

Davin straightened out his posture, keeping watch on the arachnid as he did so. These last few seconds had indeed caught him by surprise, but he hoped he might be able to even the fight out a little more. He held his left hand forward, summoning his second saber from the belt around his waist. It came to life, springing forth a viridian blade. I'm going to need to take the offensive on this, if I wish to survive.

Once again, he found himself springing from the ground, but this time he was flying towards his opponent. The Jedi traveled through the air at an amazing speed, aided by the Force, reaching the spider-man in a matter of moments. He swung his right hand down hard towards the head of his opponent, hoping to get luckier than he probably would.

0ctane - June 9, 2007 01:10 AM (GMT)
The spider shot a string of web out of its abdomen as the Jedi jumped, aiming for his face, and then promptly dropped to the floor, and fired another string of web at the Jedi's (LEFT) lightsaber handle. Bascillous knew he had the Jedi a little worried, he could tell by the attack he had just pulled. It had been possible for Bascillous to have changed into something larger and fully engulf the Jedi; but killing him wasn't the plan.

SketchedHero - June 9, 2007 07:13 PM (GMT)
The first string was and easy dodge, as Davin simply had to tilt his head to the side a bit. He continued his flight through the air, nearly reaching the spider, but it fell to the ground before he could quite get there. The Jedi caught himself on the wall, then kicked himself off, yet again diving at his opponent. But this time, he had the advantage of the high-ground.

A second string of web shot up at him, ensnaring his left hand in a glop of stringy silk. It wasn't the most pleasant feeling, but he managed to think of a way out within the second. His yellow lightsaber swung in a wide, vertical circle, severing the string. The sticky substance remained on his hand, though.

The young Jedi managed to twist himself into a forward somersault, spinning violently towards the large arachnid on the ground. He uncurled himself at the last moment, using the force from the spin to swing bothe lightsabers towards the head of his opponent.

0ctane - June 9, 2007 09:00 PM (GMT)
Bascillous frowned on the inside; the Jedi was a little more talented than he had expected. The tarantula's skin bubbled, and in it's place was the small lizard from before, the light saber missing its target, hopefully throwing the Jedi off balance, into the ground face first. Hopefully.

The lizard scurried behind the jedi, through/under his legs, and it changed again; this time into a scorpion of about the same size. Bascillous spun around and thrust his poison tipped tail at the Jedi, hoping to paralyze him.

SketchedHero - June 9, 2007 10:22 PM (GMT)
When the shifter changed back into his much smaller lizard form, Davin was caught a bit by surprise, but managed to regain his composure. He slowed his descent with the aid of the Force, and flipped to his feet, landing softly on the sandy Tatooine ground. The time for soft landings ended just a short moment later, though, when he sensed another attack coming from behind.

He leapt into a long, slow back-flip, looking down to see the stinger that he had so narrowly dodged. With his legs still pointing straight into the air, and passing a good a meter over the large scorpion, the Jedi decided to go for a non-lethal blow. The yellow lightsaber once again flashed through the air, aiming for the stalk of the probably poisonous stinger.

0ctane - June 9, 2007 10:58 PM (GMT)
The Stinger flew off, black blood squirting from the wound, and the skin of the Scorpion bubbling angrily. Bascillous was ticked off. The Scorpion was suddenly replaced by a spider the size of a small house, dripping black goo from its face, red glowing eyes; this spider put Shelob to shame (LotR Reference).

The large spider attempted to kick Davin with one of its front legs, and then trap him in closely knit webs.

((The spider is twice as tall as Davin, and ,with its legs, seven times wider. Bascillous is now his max size; 12 cubic yards.))

SketchedHero - June 9, 2007 11:26 PM (GMT)
The stinger was sliced off, causing a bit of joy to run through Davin as he realized he landed another hit. However, this joy quickly subsided as the scorpion's exo-skeleton began bubbling again. He could tell that this thing was angry by the raw emotion pouring off of it.

"I have a bad feeling about this." He said, helpless to the transormation.

Once again, the Jedi found himself horrified by the ugly creature. It had turned itself into yet another spider, but this time was much larger, and more frightening than the first. Its black goo and red eyes added alot to this, although the latter seemed to be present in all of this thing's transformations.

Due to his paying attention to the creature, he was caught a bit off-guard by the leg that flew at him. It smashed him hard under the jaw, sending him spiraling through the air. More webs then flew at him like nets, but he managed to cut through them as he spun, knowing that he would be dead if they had trapped him. The ground was the next thing to come at him, coming in hard, despite its being covered in fine sand. His breath remained, luckily.

Slowly, he rose, using his arms to pull himself up. A bit of blood trickled from the side of his mouth, but he wiped it off with the bandages on his arm. He was now sitting on his butt, gazing up at the monster before him. Realizing he was a bit too vulnerable for his own liking, he quickly stood, re-igniting both of his weapons.

"So." He started, as he resumed his defensive position. "I guess it's a bit late to talk about this?"

0ctane - June 9, 2007 11:33 PM (GMT)
The Tarantula seemed to smile, as another string of webs flew from its abdomen at Davin, even though Bascillous knew it wouldn't work. The second he shot the web, the Tarantula moved over the Jedi, ans side swiped him, hoping to knock him flying into the wall.

SketchedHero - June 10, 2007 12:00 AM (GMT)
Davin slashed frantically with his near-twin sabers, a bead of sweat running down his brow as he remembered that he was on Tatooine, which had two equally hot suns. Up, left, down with both, eventually finding the end of the webs, only to find something worse. Another leg-perhaps the same, he wasn't sure- sped towards him. Yet again, he was caught off-guard, and smashed in the shoulder.

The young Jedi was forced off of the ground again, and couldn't help but think to himself that he spent more time in the air during this fight than on the ground. Not much time was spent on this thought, as a more serious matter presented itself. He seemed to be rather close to crashing into a wall, which he guessed would not be fun.

In an attempt to slow his flight, he used the Force to make an invisible cushion of its energy, of sorts. However, as he progressed, the energy became ever more concentrated, and eventually punched a hole in the wall of the small building. He fell through it, landing on the floor, which seemed to be made of some sort of wood.

There he lay, barely conscious, one shoulder against the hard floor, and both lightsabers laying scattered in front of him. His opponent waited outside, perhaps ready to charge in at him. Was he ready to die? No. He still had to find out why he was led here in the first place. The Force wouldn't have led him to his death... Or would it? Perhaps his death would save those in the future? But, of course, if that was not the case, and he were to die not trying, then many more could die because he simply gave up. What a confusing circumstance he found himself in.

However, he slowly stood up, a new plan formulating in his mind. The lightsabers floated towards him, landing easily in each of his hands. The lightsabers crashed to life, humming as he twirled them through the air in attempt to regain the correct use of his limbs. A quick glance towards the ceiling, and he jumped, slicing a circular hole in it, then climbing through it.

He found himself in the attic of the building, but this was not his destination. He jumped up again, slicing a hole in the roof. This one took a few tries, but he managed to cut his way up. The roof was rounded, and it was easy to keep his footing. From here, he looked towards the spider, as his plan ran over and over through his mind. It was now his opponent's turn to make a move.

0ctane - June 10, 2007 12:53 AM (GMT)
Bascillous had changed the spider into the human again, but with a spider's abdomen and four spider legs instead of the normal, clumsy human pelvis. The scaled man was also equpiped with a pair of deadly looking sword arms. He had followed the Jedi through the hole, only to find a hole in the ceiling. Bascillous frowned, thinking of what dastardly deeds- or heroic, depending on how you look at it- had planned.

Bascillous changed his body to be a little smaller- small enough to fit through the hole Davin had made- and leaped through the holed ceiling. Bascillous threw his four spider limbs out to the sides of the hole, catching his body, and repeated the maneuver; jumping through the ceiling, landing neatly, and changed his forearms into axes. He waited for Davin to make his move.

((Talked it over with Sketch.))

SketchedHero - June 13, 2007 12:45 AM (GMT)
Davin sensed the spider-like being making its way to the roof of the two-story building. He showed no signs of attack, apparently waiting for the Jedi to make his own move, which he planned on doing anyway.

He dived to his side, deciding that now would be the best time to follow through with his plan. When he landed from his dive, he was right beside the edge of the fairly high roof. Davin knew he had to do this without hesitation, but couldn't help but feel the weariness from the fight start to take its toll. It was shoved to the side, and he jumped from the roof, slowing his fall slightly as he did so. A dull thudding noise marked his landing, and he rolled forward a bit. The young Jedi found his speeder still unharmed to his far left, and made a bolt for it.

He wasn't sure what this thing was, or why it was chasing him, but he did know that this fight could have disasterous results.

((Sorry about not replying for the past couple of days. Things came up.))

0ctane - June 13, 2007 01:33 AM (GMT)
((Hard core highspeed fight through Tatooine, here I come!))

Bascillous ran to the side of the roof, and leaped off, his body changing into that of winged...creature. It was strange, yet so awesome it requires its own paragraph of detail.

The creature was black, with red eyes, as all Bascillous shapes were. It had the wings of a Bat (Because feathers are arguably seperate from the body, depending on how you look at it), except the wingspan was twenty four feet. Between the wings was a deadly looking humanoid. A Cobra's head, a Man's torso, a spider's abdomen with blades for legs, and large, axes for arms. The body was small in comparison to the wings, but that was because the body was heavy. It was deadly, though not made for flight. Hence the wing size, and hollow bones, and helium pocket instead of silk making abdomen. ('course Sketched don't know that)

Bascillous moved the new body over Davin, towards the speeder. He was a few seconds late, but he doubted the Jedi would beat him to the speeder.

SketchedHero - June 13, 2007 02:16 AM (GMT)
Indeed, things did seem a bit against the odds of the Miralukan teen. His shape-shifting opposer now took on the shape of something seemingly capable of flight. This was no good, at all.

Davin raced towards the speeder, tapping into the power of the Force to push him just that much more. Perhaps this extra boost would give him the edge against his airborne enemy, allowing him to reach the speeder-bike in time. No matter, he was almost there.

Finally, after what seemed like hours, he neared the speeder. With only meters left, he could see that his opponent and himself were close, and decided to jump for it. The young Jedi leapt towards the bike, landing his hand on the ignition button, and starting it up. The rest of his body, however, was still managing to fight its way onto the seat of the small speeder.

As he finally got atop the speeder, Davin took a quick glance towards his opponent's progress.

0ctane - June 13, 2007 02:25 AM (GMT)
Bascillous frowned on the inside. He knew he should have gotten rid of the bike. The Demon was a few meters off of the jedi, and the snake head was gnashing its pink, pointy teeth of death. The snake head changed, but only to that of the Spitting Cobra, which spit venom.

Fancy that.

The insides of the snake's mouth began to work at high speed, the enom glands over working. Just to end little Davin's life.

What a pity.

SketchedHero - June 13, 2007 02:43 AM (GMT)
Davin stared into the gnashing jaws of the demon's head, nearly petrified with fear. He knew that this was a forbidden emotion, but this was a moment in which he could not help but feel it. Luckily, he was not completely petrified, and his reflexes kicked in, allowing him to escape harm caused by any venom spit his way. His fingers turned the throttle to full power, and, in moments, he was speeding through the gate of the settlement.

It didn't take long to snap back into his senses after the burst of speed, but he kept an eye on his opponent, holding the throttle with one hand, and a lit yellow lightsaber in the other. There was no telling what speeds the shifter was capable of achieving, so he would need to be on his guard.

0ctane - June 13, 2007 02:50 AM (GMT)
((Didn't spit any venom. Not enough time for the glands to produce it, ya know?))

Bascillous charged forwards, a burst of speed as he flapped his wings, gaining on the bike. He was flying low enough to the ground to be able to push along with his legs, further increasing speed. Close enough to be in range, Bascillous started to spit venom, four quick, smaller bursts, one a little bit to each side of Davin, so that if he didn't move, he would be hit with the poisonous, acid like substance, and then another, larger shot after the four smaller ones, this time centered exactly on Davin's position at the time.

SketchedHero - June 13, 2007 03:08 AM (GMT)
((Aha. Wasn't sure, so I played it safe. Oh well.))

Davin could feel the acid coming straight at him, and knew that outrunning it was out of the question. Instead he knew that a dodge, likely a jump, would need to work. This, unfortunately, would lead to his exposure to his opponent. He debated this in his mind for a moment, then decided to live a few more seconds.

The Jedi kicked up with his legs, flying half a dozen meters into the air with the aid of the Force, angled slightly backwards. The speeder underneath him putted a few times, then came to a stop. His body twisted, and he flung his arms - now both with lightsabers in grasp - straight out. Davin then plummeted towards the ground, landing softly on the hot sand, facing the deadly shape-shifter.

The lightsabers were crossed in front of him, appearing to be a defensive 'x' shape. His left knee remained on the ground for a moment, then he jumped forwards, landing a few meters in front of the charging demon.

"Alright, bub," He started, resuming his sabers' crossed stance. "Let's finish this."

0ctane - June 13, 2007 08:21 PM (GMT)
Bascillous reacted to Davin's jump in the air by changing his shape. The Flying creature exploded into nothingness, replaced by the Gorilla from earlier. It was a little bigger, with a much larger set of jaws which it could unhinge, and an expanding belly. A belly (And mouth, lungs... all his innards) which was Lightsaber resistant on the inside. Stomach acids not included.

He planned on swallowing the Jedi.

The Gorilla hit the ground with a thud, and then leaped forwards, unhinging the jaws to make swallowing Davin an easy task. Eating the Jedi would be an easy task, just the matter of disposing of him later.

Though it was possible Bascillous would have a rematch with the jedi later, and let him live. Eh, he'd think about it after the job was done.

SketchedHero - June 13, 2007 08:34 PM (GMT)
A certain unexpected reaction came from the demon. A gorilla, who had obvious intentions of swallowing him whole, took the snake-dude-thing's place. What an unpleasant way to go. So unpleasant, in fact, that most Jedi would probably not wish it upon themselves, or fall into such a plan easily.

He sensed the speeder-bike - which was silent, at the moment - several yards behind him. Hopefully, this would work as planned. Otherwise, he may just have to find a way to survive being trapped inside a demon's stomache.

Davin jumped back to dodge the gorilla's progression, then reached out with the Force, grabbing the speeder. The small vehicle shot in their direction, then hummed back to life. It was soon speeding at near-full speed, running directly under the airborne Jedi, who then used the Force to angle it towards the charging demon. Perhaps he would swallow it, or perhaps he would dodge it. Either way, Davin hoped his plan worked, as it was certainly a long shot.

0ctane - June 13, 2007 09:18 PM (GMT)
Bascillous got nothing but sand, but he didn't care. The Speeder was his new problem. He pushed up his head to headbutt Davin, but missed the jedi as he jumped up. Then came the speeder. The gorilla was large, and strong, and so pushed both hands out in front of him, grabbing the speeder by the front, and then throwing the thing at Davin, whether in the air or on land.

The Jedi was definitely crafty.

((He's obviously moving back slowly as the speeder pushes him, the ground being sand and not solid.))

SketchedHero - June 13, 2007 09:31 PM (GMT)
Davin certainly didn't expect the speeder to do much against the hulking beast, but what did happen worked all the better. The speeder flew at the Jedi, but he was already ready for it. He halted it's progress with the Force, then jumped atop it and just as soon jumped off, projecting himselfover the head of the gorilla-thing.

His lightsabers were once again ignited, and he spun as he fell just past the beast. They struck out at their target countless times, though the number landed was unknown as Davin, once again, met the ground. The sand felt good against the soles of his boots as it cushioned the impact, but that didn't help with the nuisance behind him. He wheeled about, sabers held to his side.

0ctane - June 13, 2007 09:46 PM (GMT)
The gorilla ducked and covered its head as Bascillous changed teh body. the back was cut a few times, the hands totally lobbed off, but that soon didn't matter, as the human snake was back from before, with modifications. The man looked the same, a bit meatier, but at the same time, seemed taller. His legs were longer, and he was made for speed this time. He had long clawed hands. He looked at Davin as he landed, smiling.

"You make for an interesting toy. We'll have to do this again sometime..." He said, flexing the fingers, going for effect. every demon had a style- Bascillous's was more showy than others. He went for the effect.

"But you'll have to pay for the pain you just put me through." he said, his smile turning into the meanest frown he could must, which was pretty mean. He leaned in a little, and sped at Davin, moving his left set of claws at Davin's hands, the right set straight at his stomach.

((Yeah... Bascillous is a little pissed. Still in the mood to show off, but pissed.))

SketchedHero - June 13, 2007 10:06 PM (GMT)
It was obvious that this demon had an incredibly cocky attitude, but the young Jedi he was facing could identify. He smiled back at the lizardman, who appeared all too confident. His eyes, though hidden, showed the fierceness of his expression.

His reptilian opponent rant towards him, covering the distance between them in a short moment, then swung its claws towards him. The Jedi, on the other hand, jumped to his left, swinging his sabers vertically to the right at the arms of the shifter. The demon's right claw managed to graze his side, tearing through his shirt and ripping through his oblique muscle.

The Jedi growled, trying to get past the pain, a single tear forcing itself to the surface of his eye. He almost faltered, but knew that would give his opponent an edge. This was an edge that Davin was determined not to give up so easily. From where they were, Davin swung his lightsabers horizontally, aiming one at the abdominal area, and the other at the chest.

0ctane - June 13, 2007 10:20 PM (GMT)
The arm was lobbed off, but it was easily replaced, and Bascillous knew he had made contact. The demon also changed his left arm to be strong enough to stop the lightsabers, and he pulled his other hand of claws to cut across Davin's face, hoping to make contact.

SketchedHero - June 13, 2007 10:42 PM (GMT)
Davin gazed in awe-struck horror as both sabers were blocked by his opponent's left arm, which they had severed not one minute ago. This was not a good situation, when his only weapons couldn't reach the demon.

Then, still a bit dumb-struck, he felt a horrible trio of claws rip through his face, scratching from his jaw and across his eye. His blindfold was torn off with the flesh, and the Jedi was pushed back a few feet. A moment was filled with sorrow, as he looked on at his possible demise, but was replaced completely with rage.

His pale flesh began sending off a very light pink hue, and he straightened himself up, crossing the hilts of his now doused sabers across his abdomen. He cut a rather scary image, actually. His rent face sent crimson liquid towards the ground of Tatooine, but it was quickly soaked up by the greedy sand. His torso bled into his clothes, soaking the grey and black garments.

The young Jedi decided to try one more trick before resorting to desperate measures. He charged at the reptilian, the Force feeding his rage with added strength and energy, and both sabers re-igniting with their ever familiar crack-hiss. When he reached the demon, he swung the saber in his right hand towards the creature's skull, a yellow blur humming its death note.

0ctane - June 13, 2007 10:51 PM (GMT)
Bascillous stepped to the left of the saber, smiling on the outside, a little bit worried on the inside. The Jedi obviously had some sort of fail-safe berserk mode, and Bascillous did not. He didn't plan on needing it, as he was now under the Jedi's arms.

Bascillous knew the human body, and threw up a clawed hand to (ATTEMPT) cut through some nerves in Davin's arm with the lightsaber that was previously aimed for Bascillous's head. He used his other hand of claws in an attempt to do the same with his other hand, and then use his leg to knee Davin in the groin.

Davin managed move his arm to the side, and back to a defensive position. The shifter was now aiming for multiple targets on his body, including his left hand and groin. This was easily enough dodged when he jumped back, but he jumped forward once again, bringing both lightsabers in angling down at his opponent's shoulders.

Hold on just a little longer, Davin. He thought as he pushed himself to swing the sabers. The Force is on your side... I think.

In a split second, Bascillous made himself a little smaller, the lightsabers flying to the left and right. Bascillous then returned to his normal size in the rest of that second, and then tried to pull his arms around Davin's, attempting to crush Davin's bicep between Bascillous' own, then headbutt/ knee Davin in the groin AGAIN. Practice makes perfect.

((Bascillous has, or is trying to have, both of Davin's biceps on the inside of the joint where you bend your arm, and he's trying to use his larger size/muscle content to crush you.

Fancy that.))

((I'm assuming, here, that you forgot about the lightsabers in my hands? Or perhaps I missed something? Despite my arms being crossed, I do believe this to be completely possible...))

As he was squeezed by the large demon, Davin figured he knew what was coming next. Some close-quarter act of bashing his already mishapen face in, or crushing some bone that would immobilize him. But, what the lizard thing may not have noticed was the two lightsabers still in the Jedi's hands. He crossed the blades of the sabers behind Basciluss' back, preparing for the blow he was almost knowing that he would receive.

Sure enough, almost matching blows aimed at his groin and head, both with the power to knock him back. And back he fell, still crossing the sabers in his hands. They would certainly have sliced the strange demon in two, unless he did something extremely unexpected.

The Jedi nearly fell out of consciousness, and the wind was knocked out of him, as he hit the sandy, Tatooine floor.

((From what I gather, you never mentioned cutting Bascillous with the sabers, just falling back, trying to cut him on the way down. Bascillous never let go.))

Still not letting go of Davin, Bascillous pulled his head back, feeling the light sabers cut his upper back a little, frowned, and let go of Davin, ducking, and examiong the fallen Jedi.

"Guess you fail, mate." Said the demon, changing into a large bird and flying off.

The young Jedi watched helplessly as his opponent flew away, tempted to somehow bring him back, but knowing that the negatives of doing such a thing far out-weighed the positives. Instead, Davin struggled to get back to his feet, feeling the aching that came from running about half of the planet. He pulled a small device from his pocket at his unwounded side, then brought it up to his lips.

"Hey, bring the ship to my coordinates." He called through it. "I'm pretty beat up, and doubt I would be able to get back on the speeder, which is also pretty beat up."

"Roger." Came the young female's response. "Well be there in no time."

As he placed the device back in his pocket, he gazed up at the sky, half of his face crusted with dried blood from his wound. The fingers tracing the three claw-marks stung a little, but not nearly as bad as his pride.

Of course, what bugged him the most was that the creature, whose original form he still wasn't sure of, knew more about him than he could possibly know of it. It seemed to be on some sort of mission, but this also escaped the young Jedi. Oh, how he wished he could have asked the demon about all of this, but that would simply break his concentration from the fight, and probably get him killed.

Finally, the old freighter - known to most as the Bloody Diathim - appeared over the horizon. Behind it were the twin suns of the desert planet Tatooine, which were now setting. A fitting end for all of this, really, although he was a bit sore about losing.

Perhaps I will see this shifter again, when I am a bit more skilled...
