The story so far:

Now that the Earth is no more, the humans live on Mars, it has been their twentieth year there and now the Republic has initiated a war of vengeance against the world that's people brought about the end of Earth, Faerie.

After two uneventful months on an island in the Western Faerie oceans. The order finally came for a single stealth unit, the cactus unit consisting of: Lubel, Frena, Bolts, and Colonel Cambridge to attack a base that contained a teleportation portal, which could be used to move onto another island. The cactus unit was successful in capturing the base and securing the portal. They were given a brief reprieve back to Mars for their success.

While on Mars, the cactus unit attended a meeting with the Martian senate, who appointed the cactus units commanding officer, Colonel Kenyon Cambridge, a seat in their ranks as the senator of espionage. They then discussed matters about a serial killer who had been terrorizing the colonies, merely known as Shears. It was also found out, in a message left by the killer, that it was actually an organization. After the meeting, The cactus unit met with the commanding official of the war effort. Senator Lawliet Quillish, who assigned them to buy him ice cream that evening. The cactus unit agreed.

Meanwhile, in the military labs run by Senator Sera Dukas, The prisoners from the cactus units raid on the Faerie base had been taken for experimentation, Lawliet however, spared one of them because they were of pure Faerie blood, and were designated a traitor by the Faerie army. Lawliet assigned the Faerie, Cador, to the cactus unit.

Later that night, the cactus unit bought Lawliet his ice cream and met the Colonel's girlfriend, October Gray. They then began to head home when Lubel spotted the glint of a pair of shears down an alleyway and gave chase along with Cador and Bolts, Frena caught up with them in minutes and they found that the serial killer had escaped but not before killing a victim who, in their dying breath, noted that herself and Lubel had similar scars.

Lubel decided to haul the body back to its home instead of having it rest in the alleyway. However, he, and the rest of the cactus unit, (minus Cambridge, who had gone home with his girlfriend) were spotted and given to the authorities to be put under arrest.

In jail, Lubel learned that the girl, who had mentioned his scars, might have been referring to the mark of insanity, given to people that were affected by the weather on Earth back in the days of Faerie rule. He learned that the mark, while not genetic itself, left scars on the offspring of children. Cambridge then appeared to his unit, disappointed and angry at them for tarnishing the squads name and bringing him away from his girlfriend. He said he would pay their bail but they would have to get out on their own. Without harming any guards, without being caught, and within a week.

Later that same night, in their cells, the cactus unit met Madd, a soldier who had been imprisoned because of his blood, being 1/3 dragon. Madd agreed to help them escape and so they did, with Lubels use of aquamancy, they were able to back up the prisons water systems and call the guards to the boiler room to fix the problem. they then escaped by busting oepn the locks and headed toward the Dukas labs.

That morning, Cambridge, Lawliet, and Senator Dukas appeared with announcements of a new training phase called the OE phase. The cactus unit was to be shipped out to join the rest of the military on an island where the operation would take place. They arrived that night to find, along with the rest of the soldiers, that the plan was for them to be hunted down by Dukas' experimental soldiers.

However, the island wasn't abandoned, a Faerie execution squad had arrived and are now hunting down the military and the experiments, they have already taken care of most of the experiments and are now focusing the attention on the humans. So far, the cactus unit has met one member, an elven alchemist/ martial artist named Vons..who claims that while the training against the experiments was for naught, they will learn a lesson: That the Faerie execution squad will defeat them all.

Vons escaped and the General of the humans, Andy Drakmore, has decided that the best option is to wait it out, as there are no means of escpae arriving for two days. Later, the human army congregated together and were confronted by the Faerie execution squad who announced that they had killed all the bio-soldiers and would now kill them. After a battle with one of their members, Hawkeye, a human traitor. The humans began to plan to put a wall up around their camp and wait for an evacuation ship. Unfortunately, the Faeries destroyed the evacuation ship, so the humans had to use a last resort and teleport to a random location in Faerie.

They teleported to a village of gnomes. Where they now rest with a new mission coming in to safeguard the senator of the treasury Faust Johann Goethe. The rest of the human military, not liking that their comrades were getting more attention and respect than them. Decided to stage a kidnapping of the senator in which they'd "save" him and take the credit as heroes. However, the senator was actualy kidnapped by a gang of bandits led by katschei the deathless. The party confronted the bandits and eventually locked Katshcei the deathless away in a pocket dimension. Faust then told the party that he was assigned to give all of the militay a time of leave to come to the festival of Earthfall, which commemorates the day on which the Earth was destroyed.

Back on Mars, Lubel, Frena, Bolts, and Madd have decided to sign up for the tournament of the festival, while Cambridge signs up for the final event, the race. Now, the festival is beginning in one day. What awaits our heroes in the ring...defeat. After an incredibly LONG tournament Senator Vera Lane eventually emerged as the victor.

After a return to Faerie, the human army continued on a new path through the northen mountains, the military attempted at one point, to abandon the cactus unit: however they were met with resistance a ta military outpost stationed nearby that the supreme general Plato Yerems was conducting an inspection that day. The cactus unit fought two of Yerem's personal entourage, Othello and Anako, who escaped only leaving the knowledge that the humans were getting beaten badly.

Upon arriving at the battlefield. General Yerems himself stepped in to help finish off the job, he duelled with Bolts and ultimately destroyed nearly everything nearby. The cactus unit survived however upon waking up, they realized that the rest of the military had left them, saying they were dead weight. The cactus unit awoke after remaining unconscious due to Yerems attack to see that they were being treated by the execution squad from the OE project. The squad told the cactus unit that they would nurse them back to health and direct them back to better climes, but then the hunt after them would resume.

Now, the cactus unit has reached a valley of moderately cool temperature where they are now fighting two members of the execution squad. Minos the homunculus, and Ero, the elf child.

background story: Frena lived her entire childhood on Earth with her mother. Her mother was a friend of a Faerie woman. Because of this, a Faerie hunter named Karis killed her mother. For the rest of her life, Frena lived a lonely life, until she met the Pompey family. She befriended the young Andrew Pompey and his mother. Frena became Andrew's nurse and went to Mars with the family to live in luxary. When Andrew became older, she made him her pupil. After she finished training him, she left the family and joined the military.

He has a strong sense of honor in battle and currently stalks the main party along with his team in search of a rematch for what happened on the island.

Background: Little is known about Rayne. He is the Ruseth execution squad sniper, and considered one of the best in Faerie. He was actually offered a job with the royal execution squad, but turned it down instead hoping to bring some pride to the town of Ruseth. He is a blind sniper, so he relies on his other senses to tell where his enemy is, he is second in command next to Tigris.

Background: By far the most enigmatic member of the Ruseth execution squad, he was created by a local scientist to be used in combat and eventually shown off to the Faerie government as a possible alternative to wasting living soldiers, he was rejected as being too unstable. He has no true form and must constantly remain fused into something or other. Though he can transform during the day as he just needs to constantly stay in contact with an actual item he can fuse into.

background story: Ichiaijou was the illegitamate daughter of the beautiful Warmonger Lady Akane Chishio and the Demon Entity of Nightmares Meikyou Makai; her existance was a complete secret. Before Earthfall, she was aducted by Sera Dukas. She became one of the original test subjects for a new form of gene therapy; to increase human performance with desirable genes from Faerie beings. Ichiaijou was the only one to survive the three-year long experiment. Though, she lost a chunk of her sanity from the experiments. Ultimately escaped with the help of Lady Magdalene, who wanted to recruit her for the Cowboys as the forth member. Luckily, Ichiaijou's demonic genes were dormant up until her escape, thus her true DNA structure wasn't recorded by Dukas. Upon mastering some of the Meikyou traits with the help of her step-mother, Gwen (Karis summoned her spirit from the afterlife), she recreated her appearence to that of a European woman. With her DNA no longer like that of the ones on record, she was able to start a new life with the name Juliet Zellious. Upon orders of the Cowboys, she and Karis influtrated the Senate by working their way up the ranks in Christo's department. Ichiaijou is the one behind many of the ordeals the Cactus Unit have faced, though her motives are enigmatic.

spells: Mastery of shamanistic magic. She can use this in battle to summon up lingering spirits as a sort of ammo for her shotgun. She can also summon spirits to channel their powers. She can also reconstruct her body with ashes and some earthy material.
-skills: She is extremely fast and can fly at high speeds. She's also very flexible, yet she's still very hard.
-appearance: Long, wavy blond hair. He eyes are a deep red. She's about 5'3". Her skin is perfectly tanned. Her wings are hawk-like. Her face looks pleasent and beautiful, but a great sadness hides behind it. When she was Karol, she was 5'9" and fat with short brown hair and blue eyes. The reason for the larger size was so she had room to hide her weapons and herself under the fake body.
-background story: She was born in a small village. Upon birth, the town's wiseman predicted that the small amount of Faerie blood in her would slowly grow and on her 50th birthday, she would ascend to the ranks of a pure-blood Faerie being. Seeing this is an Apocolyptic omen, she was cast away into the Great Desert as an infant. Luckly, an exiled group of schoolars found her minutes before her death. They revived her from her near-death experience and took her in. She was raised by the wise shaman of the group. She was largly mediocre when it came to magic, so she was largly taught figthing skills and only some shamanistic magic. However, those that she could learn were beyond mediocre in preformance. Though naturally inept in magic, that small amount of Faerie blood helped make up for it in battle. When she was 20 and on the night of her wedding, the caravan were attacked by bandits. In the end, only she survived. Half-dead herself, she stumbled out of the camp into the desert with only the bandit leader's musket and her husband Bart's two sabers.
She was again saved from near-death, though the near-death state and mental trauma kept her in a coma for nearly an entire year. When she finally came to, she snuck out of the camp, practically dragging herself. Again, she only took her weapons. She wanted to kill all Faerie beings as revenge for the curse they set upon her life. She had no idea that she had given birth to a daughter in her coma, and thus she thought her family was forever dead. The daughter was raised by an elderly couple and named Sylla Othilos, who decades later married Christo Pompey.
During the years, Karis killed Faeries and humans that had Faerie friends. One of the many she killed was Frena's mother and Butterly-Ryu teacher, leaving Frena alone in the world until, ironically, she met the Pompey family and befriended Sylla and Andrew--both of whom were actually related to Karis.
After decades of hunting, she met Andettle and Myros. Determined to kill Andettle, she joined them. Over the course of their adventures, she began to warm up to her comrades and lost a lot of her coldness. Upon her 50th birthday, the prophecy came true, and Karis warped, losing her human genes. However, she still kept up with her constant babbling of Fearie genocide.
After finally becoming happy in life again, she died after the party's failed attempt to attack the Emperor's Palace on Earth. However, determined to help Andettle, who had become family to her, she came back from the afterlife. She, with the help of Bart, created a new body out of glass made from sand and her ashes. Under the disguise of the Glass Knight, she teamed up with Andettle and her group for the final raid. Upon escaping Earth, she finally revealed herself to Andettle and wished her a happy life.
However, while crossing back to the afterlife, she saw Myros kill Andettle. No longer able to rest in peace, she soon returned to the living world and sought out Lady Luck, one of the few survivors. Together, they formed the Cowboys to destroy the Bandits. Using Karis as a medium, they trained Megwhyr, Ichiaijou, and Andrew with Gwen and Frena's master. Later on, she and Ichiaijou created fake identities and joined the senate.

-background story: He is the son of Christo and Sylla Pompey and the grandson of Karis Pompey. When he was three, he befriended Frena Tethus. The Pompeys took her in as a daughter. Once he was fourteen, she started to teach him Butterfly-Ryu. They trained for ten years together, though he had reached the same level as her when he was sixteen. After those ten years closely together, he decided to see the world himself. Shortly upon leaving his family, Frena joined the army, and Andrew met Ichiaijou. He sortly joined the Cowboys and intensely trained with his grandmother for five years. Despite being the newest member and being 13 years behind in training when compared to Megwhyr and Ichiaijou, he soon surpassed them all, becoming the strongest member of the Cowboys. During his time training, he fell in love with Ichiaijou and Megwhyr. He first dated Ichiaijou, but after three year together, they broke up, and he started to date Megwhyr. Together, they are to be the Cowboys' ultimate weapon.

-background story: She was once a lesser demonic entity that dictated luck. Decades ago, she met a desperate man named Ray Deensix. They made a bet: If he could beat her in a game of her choice without her using her powers, then she would marry him. Ray won. With her at his side, he became rich thanks to endless luck. He was also a member of the Death Merchants and bought his way into Gwen's team. Though she was never an official member, Maria worked closely with the Death Merchants once they teamed up with the resistance against Venux and Emperor Hyuak. She provide Andettle's party transportation with her airship the Blackjack, and she joined the group that raided the Emperor's Palace. She was one of the few to survive the raid.
Upon arriving on Mars, she learned the truth of the Bandits. Enraged, she and Karis formed the Cowboys. Maria then hunted down those with ties to original party members. She ultimately found Megwhyr, Ichiaijou, and Andrew. Though she had considered it, she decided to not take in Lubel as a child. Also, she was soon promoted to the rank of Entity of Lust and Greed by Leviathan, the only surviving member of the original Entities of Humanity's Sins.

I'm not really a fan of sprites personally, so I'm doing it good ol' sketches, quill pen, and photoshop.
