Title: IRC?

Citizen Bill - May 6, 2007 06:48 PM (GMT)
IRC? Y/N?

Edge - May 6, 2007 06:58 PM (GMT)
As long as I don't have to manage it or anything, then I don't care one way or another. If it's made, I'll probably never do anything with it, and if it isn't made, I won't be sad that we don't have one.

Alastor Blackrose - May 6, 2007 07:20 PM (GMT)
AS long as it doesn't fail as hard as the last one.

Wolf - May 6, 2007 08:03 PM (GMT)
Wouldn't hurt, therefore Y.

Edwardo Rocket - May 6, 2007 08:20 PM (GMT)
I like the idea of having a 24/7 chat area, plus I already have XChat2 for Windows.

So yes, I vote for an IRC chat.

Shin Sephiroth - May 6, 2007 11:31 PM (GMT)
YES.

Myles Nairne - May 6, 2007 11:58 PM (GMT)
Sure, sounds kinda fun.

Kenji - May 7, 2007 12:09 AM (GMT)
Sounds like a good idea. Hell, it might just help with activity.

Ja.

Sarkos - May 7, 2007 12:54 PM (GMT)
I think this is a good idea.

I'll be able to talk to people when I cant sleep
"I'm not alone anymore"

Fireyone - May 7, 2007 07:51 PM (GMT)
Sure I'm game for it!

RockMaster - May 7, 2007 08:11 PM (GMT)
If you can point me to a nice free solution for making IRC work for Opera@USB 9.20 U3, sure.

Edwardo Rocket - May 7, 2007 09:12 PM (GMT)

RockMaster - May 8, 2007 08:17 PM (GMT)
Err, U3 was kinda the key there. I know that I can use those programs on a U3 drive, but a nice integrates solution would be nice.

Raptor_Shadow - May 19, 2007 11:50 AM (GMT)
I'm an IRC whore, it's the only thing that manages to drag me out of luker-dom. So I vote yes.

Anime Freak - May 19, 2007 08:41 PM (GMT)
*rubs his eyes* Huh? Raptor is still here? I though I killed you we lost you way back when. Anyways, I've tried and failed at getting any IRC program to download over here. I'm thinking that the Military has a block for those kind of programs. --.--;;

Iota - May 19, 2007 09:50 PM (GMT)
I'm cool with it as well.

DisgruntledPostalEmployee - May 19, 2007 11:53 PM (GMT)
So does anyone have a plan for implementing it, or what?

Tried HydraIRC? It's what I used back in the day.

Last I checked, it was free, easy to set-up, was a small size, and had a clean, customizable UI.

Sarkos - May 20, 2007 10:31 AM (GMT)
Soooo,
When are we going to actually going to get the IRC setup?

I'm bored :(

Kill? Me? No....

I just mysteriosuly disappeared. And accidentally clicked the TFS link and saw the revolution had taken place.

And damn, it's too late for me to be Trotsky... Oh well. I guess I'll need to find a better explanation for this ice-pick wound I have.

Cassidy - May 20, 2007 02:05 PM (GMT)
I'm in for the idea, just as long as you guys can keep it under control, unlike the last IRC we had.

Dr. Scar - May 20, 2007 02:15 PM (GMT)
I vote yes. It sounds like a really good idea to me. As long as there's a way to keep banned members out.

Jet - May 20, 2007 06:09 PM (GMT)
The problem with keeping banned members out is a little thing like their IP.

Some people have the ability to switch their IP around, so they can enter through several different windows. We can ban them by their name, but as we saw with a particular asshat of a member, they kept barging in and pretending to be other people so they wouldn't get caught.

Sad that they still haven't let their banning go, that they have to keep bothering the board altogether.

*rubs his eyes*  Huh?  Raptor is still here?  I though I killed you we lost you way back when.  Anyways, I've tried and failed at getting any IRC program to download over here.  I'm thinking that the Military has a block for those kind of programs.  --.--;;

That was the first one I tried, since it worked for me on my desktop. The Army, in it's infinite wisdom, has blocked that site on the network I use. All the other ones I have tried don't work either. I think my best bet is to simply use an online Java site like I did the first time I jumped in the IRC. Sad part is that those take a long time to load.

I should be back in the states in a few months, it looks like I might even get home sooner too. =3

Jet - May 21, 2007 04:46 AM (GMT)
The guys in charge of the military sound like dicks with each passing story I take in and each complaint that is noted.

It's a wonder how you've stayed there this long without going batshit insane, JAF.

Also, does anyone see a rather obvious win for the IRC being re-made? I think I may weep.

Nam-Ereh-Won - May 24, 2007 01:16 AM (GMT)
The problem last time was that we had a network set up for the forum when really a single channel on an existing network would have sufficed like, Espernet or ZiRC.

Sorry to barge in, but do you have FireFox, Freak? If you do, check the Add-ons section at Mozilla Site and head for the extensions. They have a IRC Chat thing called ChatZilla. Try that.

Darken Wolf - June 1, 2007 05:05 PM (GMT)
Sure, I'd be down. What server/ channel would it be?

Nate The Hedgehog - June 2, 2007 06:24 PM (GMT)
My answer is yes.

Trilo - June 4, 2007 05:25 PM (GMT)
Oh god yes I need a reason for IRC to take up memory on my computer.

Slash - June 8, 2007 06:32 AM (GMT)
I quite liked the old IRC so, yes.
