Wow. I check out the forums on a whim and I see that since I stopped posting this place has crumbled into a post-apocalyptic hellhole, reformed under the iron fist of a dictator, passed onto another and has experienced a revolution of sorts.

I may just hang about again. Maybe, we'll have to see. If I do, I'll probably just make the odd comment here and there, post some art or writing (when I get my arse to doing any) and so on.

Also, being the IRC-whore that I am, do we have such a thing up and running these days, or will that remain a thing of the past?

Anyway. Glad to see that things are beggining to change around here, it was my first real online community and I'll always have a certain degree of connection to it.

Fascism is something of a buzzword. Do you mean "The state sacrificed individual rights to attempt and make it's nation stronger," or "You kill jews"? =P

More the negative after-effects usually attributed to a Facist society. The whole 'OMG NO RIGHTS OPRESSION !!!!oneoneeleven!!11' kind of thing. But that's the vibe I'm picking up.

In theory, facism is a sound idea. Much like communism and capatalism and so on.

It's just us humans that fuck it up.

Capitalism and communism aren't governments, they're economic systems. They're only fucked up when someone CLAIMS they're governments and make it into a thinly veiled despotism, to their benefit alone. Communism is a little harder to work because some of the basic assumptions, but that's all. Capitalism assumes we're all greedy bastards that want profit, which is more realistic, but both forms work if they're regulated properly.

Totally with you on the fascism thing. Reasonable idea on paper, but not the best of results in reality.

I don't know actually. I'm not quite up to speed on the various happenings. Just whisperings and tidbits.

Most likely I'd be worse. I'm a horrible for abusing power. Course, I'm the kind of man who'd never promise anything remotely fair =D

Ahh, that's the trick, iddin't it? My personal rule was to only toss out people myself when I could point to a rule broken, and not to toss out people that weren't pissing on other people's heads. I didn't hit the mark as much as I wanted, but I tried for it.

'Course, toward the end everyone just went into the spam boards and didn't bother doing anything else, and I didn't like the spam boards and only went in when someone told me shit was going down and I had to look. That was the whole reason I retired; I wasn't paying as much attention as I should.

Then the next time someone did something stupid in the spam bin and someone poked me about it, I went and threatened to use the power I had left to be an unholy despot who wouldn't even PRETEND to play fair if they wouldn't shut up and play nice, and promptly went back to ignoring that section. Not a good idea in retrospect; I shouldn't have declared such, and if I was gonna be stupid enough to do it at all I should have followed through on it.
