Haha, I really need to pick up this Mangaverse thing.
And I'm suprised Marvel didn't try to poke fun at yaoi as well. Come on, there ARE gay Marvel characters so it would be a good laugh.
And to be honest, seeing MJ and The Cat making out isn't as weird as seeing Spidey's costume. Seriously, what's up with the T-Shirt and bandages? o_o

In the Mangaverse, Peter is part of a clan of ninjas called the Spider Clan
The bandages, t-shirt and the claws attached to his gloves are part of his costume to make him look like a sort of modern ninja
I don't think he has any powers, his powers where replaced with 733t ninja tricks like shadow web and such
