Well I've recently become obssessed with a awesome show on the history channel called dogfights. Recently they showed two of the greatest naval ships I have every seen. Germanys Great battleship the Bismark and Japans own IJN Yamato. Now my dad and I have been obssessed with trying to find out which was the better ship in terms of Firepower, Range and Rate of fire, and speed. So I got the Wikipedias of both ships right here.
Here's the Yamato and
heres the The Bismarck the German ship named after a pastry XD. Now I'm personally leaning towards the Yamato for it is bigger, heavier, and has some pretty powerful gun. So your thoughts?

I personally like the Bismarck due to the reasons that it was scuttled and not destroyed like the yamato and Johnny Horton wrote a song about it : D

Depends, would the Yamato have it's escortes of KamiKazi fighters?

No, this is just the Yamato vs the Bismarck.

The Bismark Was one of the MOST Heaviest and Powerfullest Battleships ever made in world war II....untill they found out planes > Ships.

Indeed they did indeed they did but, this situation is a more of what if the two ships went against each other NO PLANES invovled what so ever.

Battleships started becoming obsolete due to the rise of carrier power, the Operation Ten-Go was a good example as the Yamato and the fleet were decimated by hundreds of airplanes launched from aircraft carriers. Now as for the showdown betweeen the Bismarck and the Yamato, I'm going for the Yamato because it had to take dozens of torpedoes just to pound it to hell, not to mention it had 12 cannons, 4 more than the Bismarck, and 3 more than the Iowa-class battleships.
