Just came back from seeing it. Basically, the film amounts to this.

Hugh Jackman is bad-ass monster killer dude for the Vatican, who can't remember his past. Is sent to kill Dracula, along with little Friar guy.

Runs into Gypsy-Hot-Chick who helps 'em out. Beats up vampires. Kills a werewolf. Saves Frankensteins Monster. Blows up a palace full of Vampires. Hot Chick dies. So does Dracula. Van Helsing and Friar Dude ride off into the sunset.

An incredibly predicatble, cliché moive with no depth or substance. Which why it's so cool. Just mindless, utterly mindless, action for the duration.

To sum it up? James Bond in the 18th Century. Cool gadgets, hot chick, cool hero, evil villains scheme and super-weapon thwarted.

Go see it. Now.

Ah, so that's why I hear people complaining about the movie. It's a adrenal flick.

Guess I don't have any more excuses NOT to see it, huh?

The problem is people want films with in-depth plot, believable story and deep characters. Eh, if I wanted that, I'd read a book.

I like films with big explosions, lots of action and hot chicks.

How ironic. Mere minutes after I read Eastwood's first post, me and my mother took off the the local cineplex to see, suprise suprise, Van Helsing.

I kinda share what Eastwood likes in a movie. The more carnage, the better. And Van Helsing had quite a few of that.

But MAN, did Dracula's wives annoy me...

But yes... the movie was good, in my opinion. Oh, and its "Actually, I'm a friar, I can swear all I want... damn it!". XD

Now, the ending... that was messed up, for what it was. So, the chick dies, the comic relief gets laid, and the main character only gets a kiss? Bwaha. XD

That movie is awesome (except for teh air powered machine-gun cross bow, I think they went over board with that) especially teh warewolf scenes.

No, theres a plot, a pretty good one at that. but were trying not to spoil it for all of those who havebnt seen it yet (btw my dad wanted to see it since he didnt, and so i just saw it for teh second time)

Van Helsing....Oh my gosh that was one of the best movies I've ever seen! The graphics were amazing, the music was great and all the action... *drools* Heh warewolves are sexy.....and baby vampires are so cute....
