Title: WIP: Raymond Nicholson
Description: Latest: Attack Gadget frames
GrooveMan.exe - January 11, 2007 11:28 AM (GMT)
My old topic got purged... ;_;

The latest. Ignore the pink BG.
Most of the combat poses are made from splces of Goku and Vegeta. Goku is one wide shouldered MoFo. I also redesigned the Atack Gadget a teeny bit from the old MMZX model I had. 'Cuz the gadget is heavy, Ray is gonna have to walk while wielding it, but all the JSS sprites run. >_>
C+C? Pie?

[no really how can we ignore all that cotton candy pish posh?]
Well their good but i dont see how those legs can surport that body. I can figure wether its his body thats big and buffed or his legs that are thin and short.
and he might need some more shadi...OH!...nevermind. The shadings good enough.
Betatronic - January 11, 2007 10:50 PM (GMT)
Actually, the shading on the shirt is awful. I might need to show you how that's done.
GrooveMan.exe - January 13, 2007 01:00 PM (GMT)
Bad lab coat shading? Ok, you have me there. >_> And thicker legs. Got it.
Hah, I'm surprised I got replys so quickly!
Strife_Hiro - January 13, 2007 05:25 PM (GMT)
I think this may give a good idea on how to fix the coat's shading:

Use more contrasted blue-ish shading when going from lighter to darker shades of white.
GrooveMan.exe - January 21, 2007 10:25 AM (GMT)

Thickened the legs, administered new colour scheme. But I'd still appreciate that shading example, Beta.
Betatronic - January 21, 2007 07:58 PM (GMT)
Strife really got what I was going for, but darken the blue up a bit more.
GrooveMan.exe - January 22, 2007 05:08 PM (GMT)
Sure, but what I'm afraid of happening is loosing the fact that it's a white coat.
Like how I did glasses for a character once, but they complained that the lenses were too pale, and by the time everyone was satisfied, they'd become sunglasses. But hey, I'll give it a shot.
GrooveMan.exe - February 6, 2007 08:40 PM (GMT)
Ok, the blue has started to get to me slightly. So I've tried to give the coat definition and contrast, but kept the shades more grey.
http://img164.imageshack.us/img164/3772/an...rattemptzu7.pngOh, and does anyone have ideas for JSS bases for Jennifer?

>___> I've tried, but for some reason I can't sprite girls very well. Suggested bases would help.

XD I recognise that! Kirbs must have used her to make the modern Flamegirl poses!
I don't think I can use those. Partly because I'm going for Jump Superstars style, and I want to have as little to do with TTA as possible. Sure, my flash series is nothing like it, but people are always falling over themselves to make comparisons. I'll tell you what; I'll try to have another crack at this, and maybe I can get suggestions from there.
Betatronic - February 8, 2007 10:14 PM (GMT)
Yes, Ellie was the base for FlameGirl's new set of battle poses. Try not to dwell on that fact. She makes a great female base.
Darth Kiari - February 8, 2007 11:46 PM (GMT)
O.o she was. I knew I saw that base somewhere!
Hazzardous - February 9, 2007 02:17 AM (GMT)
Well, theres no shortage of JSS female poses to use Groove...The Database should have most of them, if not all of them...of course, you probably already knew that didn't you?
Betatronic - February 9, 2007 09:41 AM (GMT)
And I have them all in my archive.
GrooveMan.exe - February 9, 2007 09:49 PM (GMT)
So you do, so you do. I overlooked that.
FlameGirl aside, Ellie's idle pose is ugly, IMO. I'll just keep experimenting.
GrooveMan.exe - February 24, 2007 12:44 PM (GMT)
Here's a spriting equation for you.
http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/2833/newjennyad7.pngOld Jenny * Yugi * Nami * Eve = New Jenny * 2(New Jenny)
>_> Yeah. So I quite like this new one, but I'm having trouble with the head. It goes down to an even sahoulder length at the back, and 2 smaller bangs fro the middle of the forehead. So far all I've managed is a recolor of Nami's, with a small edit. Help prz.
Hazzardous - February 24, 2007 01:13 PM (GMT)
Yeah the head definitly needs a minor shrink down as she looks like she will break her neck if she tries to look down...
But the body looks well done, I always find it neat how folks can take different bases (Even if they are from the same game) and just merge them together...
GrooveMan.exe - February 24, 2007 01:44 PM (GMT)
Better?

I've also noticed that this version ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE A GIRL over the MMZX version.

It's cause you didn't give Jenny those femmenine eyebrow things female sprites always have. XP Anyway, it looks nice, save the shading on the arms and pants.
GrooveMan.exe - February 24, 2007 03:33 PM (GMT)

Stole Yugi's leg shading pattern, and realised that the face had an additional skin shade that I hadn't used.
GrooveMan.exe - March 20, 2007 04:20 PM (GMT)

More Jenny 4 ya. I must find a way to get Sakura's chest on all of my sprites... >_>

The blue-eyed black man in a lab coat speaks the truth.
