Title: New: Fireyone
Description: Yep they may not be finished but....
Fireyone - December 6, 2006 02:52 AM (GMT)
I want to get out of the MMZ slump that TFS has entered and I need this experince I'm still learning how to be a better spriter myself.
This is the sheet and it needs to be upgraded. Even if it ain't finished. I was thinking about going with a few sheets from Jump super star like the Goku and possible Vegeta Sprites since they have some good punching and kicking sprites. Not to mention pose for firing a Blast of some kind! (In my characters case fire). So if anyone is willing to help me please please do! Also if you have some other ideas for a base I'm completely open to anything.
Sprite bases:
(currently going to get them)

Suggestions:
http://www.readyfyght.com/media/sprite/greatbases/Allen.gifAllen has a nice hairstyle that can be edited easily.
http://www.readyfyght.com/media/sprite/gre...s/let_sheet.gifcombine that hair with let's hair and I think you can get your style with careful editing.
http://www.readyfyght.com/media/sprite/gre.../haru_sheet.gifHaru has a great selection of legs, and they're easily edited.
http://www.readyfyght.com/media/sprite/greatbases/Sasuke.gifhttp://www.readyfyght.com/media/sprite/greatbases/Gohan.gifYay for variety!
It LOOKS like you have alot of melee attacks, and since you basically wear a T-shirt with flames on it, both Gohan and/or Sasuke would provide excellent torsos.
As for heads, that's your choice. Looks like Sasuke would have a nice head too. Just add the bangs of Allen onto it.
TeaOfJay - December 6, 2006 04:34 AM (GMT)
Made a new head for ya.

I used the same pallet from your sheet, except for shades.
I combined Allen's and Let's hair, like Betatronic suggested.

Something like this? Made using TeaOfJay's head and parts of Sauske and Haru.
Fireyone - December 6, 2006 08:53 PM (GMT)
Dang... Thats really good O_O I must say that that WAY BETTER than MMZ style SO much better I defiantly will do as you suggested Beta and use Teepo S.T. as something to work off =D

Well I editied the legs from Haru but, the legs look way to long and I did try to add the fire and that came out wrong as well. Also The hair and head were a bit of a problem. Anyone got some suggestions?
Grandy - December 7, 2006 12:14 AM (GMT)
I'd say that the leg being long is the least. It seems like the right legs is way too short, and is in the same direction as the left one. I also can't say whch arm is your left and which is your right, because they don't seem to start where his should should be.
I gave a shot at the leg, here:

Used Haru as well.
Sparks Fox - December 7, 2006 12:21 AM (GMT)
Yes, the legs ARE too long. But thats not the only problem.
I can't tell which is the right leg and which is the left leg, why? Piiilllloooow shaaadiing.
This kind of shading effectivly turns them legs into a bent cylinder.
Along with this that torso is WAY too small and the arms looks like noodles.
Theres nothing really wrong with the hair, don't worry about it as it DOES look like his hair is being blown back as he is running (If that is what you were going for.)
Now please excuse me while I patch this up proper like.
Betatronic - December 7, 2006 01:18 AM (GMT)
I was gonna nail that..
Oh well. Sparks da man.
Try to lighten up the shades on the pants.
Fireyone - December 7, 2006 01:21 AM (GMT)
Ok thanks Beta the pants are a little on the dark side (Obvious under statement)
Sparks Fox - December 7, 2006 01:29 AM (GMT)
Direct LinkThis is what I would assume you were shooting for.
I don't expect you to perfectly mimic this but examine it closely and learn from what I did from a side by side compatrison. It's not perfect either, it's a rush job. Also I did not change the hands.
Fireyone - December 7, 2006 01:46 AM (GMT)
Well I may use the pants coloring but, I'd like to stick to the normal shirt color and get the flames added to that. Also I gotta ask you how did you know where to put the shading on it? I'm still suffering from being unable to shade myself and I'd like to hear in detail about it. I want to get better honestly =/
Sparks Fox - December 7, 2006 01:53 AM (GMT)
It'd take a while to explain how I shade. Hopefully i'll be able to whip something up to explain it in depth soon.
The best I can explain how its done right now is, pay attention to clothing folds and muscle structure.

Oh thanks Beta thats gonna be helpful =D
Fireyone - December 9, 2006 12:32 AM (GMT)

Well I made this yesterday which is a edit off just Haru. I didn't think it would matter since he's hunched over but, I thought I'd get your opinion. Also I know the Shading and Fire on the shirt need some work. So your thoughts?

Whelp I'm trying to make some Walking poses so I can get back to doing my comics and all that. This is what I have so far the hand on the other arm which needs to be shrunk slightly but, My main grip is the legs and how can I get them to look like one is crossing over the each other. I also need to turn the bod more so it looks like its walking. But right now I'm trying to get the legs done so can anyone help me?
Athias - January 8, 2007 12:37 AM (GMT)
Pretty good, but there are some instantly noticable problems:
1. The arms are to thick in cmparison with the body.
2.The body is to thin in comparison with the legs
3. it's hard to se the shading on his shirt.
4. The pants are kind of buly and awkward.
5. The pants and (especially) the feet could use better shading.
On another note, where did you get the hair from?
Betatronic - January 8, 2007 05:50 AM (GMT)
Did you forget the impossible bend of the left arm and the fact the hands are facing the SAME DIRECTION!?
Fireyone - January 8, 2007 09:35 PM (GMT)
No beta I did not for get Right now I was trying for the legs but I needed a body to stick them on and also the hand will be different on the final product.
Translation in English Provided by Betatronic:"Well I was too lazy to finish it, but that's because he needed legs. For walking. I'll eventually make him humanly feasible, sometime in the future."
Betatronic - January 8, 2007 10:14 PM (GMT)
The shading still needs help. It almost looks to me you tried to emulate Sparks' tutorial without actually understanding the concepts. x_x;
Fireyone - January 8, 2007 10:36 PM (GMT)
YEah I guess you could say that I did try though with little success.
