| Gravedigging is taking older topics and posting on them. It is annoying because if a topic needs to be revived, then obviously it was done with. Topic revival is spam. That's the biggest problem with gravedigging. It encourages spam. Posting simply to keep a topic on the board is not contributing. It bumps down topics that are still active, too. There is no set time limit for graveyard posts. A week is a good indicator, but it's not an exact limit. Posting 10 or 15 minutes short of one week does not make it any different. When a topic gets old, and nobody can say anything intresting on it without spamming, it's dead. Now, I don't care how good anyone thinks a topic is. When a topic stops being intresting to everyone, they stop posting on it. If you have to revive it, then it was no longer good. Period. If, in 2 years, someone comes and posts in the Sonic Heroes thread, we'll probably be pissed. I don't see a difference between something 2 years dead and 2 weeks dead. Still dead, don't touch it. |
