After the mysterious brutal death of an old friend, a group of teenagers find themselves in possession of Stay Alive, a next generation horror survival videogame based on the spine-chilling true story of a 17th century noblewoman known as “The Blood Countess.”

It's got an American rating of PG-13, which is pretty much the UK equivalent of a twelve.

How the @#$% do you make a HORROR movie for 12/13 year olds? Really?

The basic plot is that a load of people play a game, and if they die in said game, they later die in real life in exactly the same manner.

Here's a thought...STOP PLAYING THE @#$%ING GAME YOU IDIOTS!

Kinda the same premise as "The Ring", then?

With people shouting the same things at the movie screen, I'd imagine. "People that (Insert interaction here) with that (Insert object here) die/are maimed/have generally unpleasant times, you jackass! You heard all about it! SO DON'T DO IT, ASSHAT."

Seriously, would anyone play a game that you hear kills people? I'd think I would do some research on the damn thing first, at the very LEAST.

Gotta say though, thats one @#$%ing big bug the developers missed.

It sounds like a interesting idea, but that's where the stupidity comes in with the whole "I'M GOING TO KEEP PLAYING AND RISK GETTING KILLED IN REAL LIFE" thing.

Isn't that the plot to a sega genesis game?

Seriously though isn't this the plot to Kid Chameleon for Sega Genesis?

It's TTA meets Resident Evil Castlevania, only much, much, worse!

Somehow, it seems that with every lame movie made that creativity in Hollywood is going down the drain.

so its a "the ring" rip off.

wow, its even crappier that that space board game thats an exact rip off from "jumanji"

its hard to be original these days

Except that 'Zathura' is about a million times better than the cinematic skid mark that is 'Jumanji'.

It'd be even better if they played 'Prince Of Persia: Two Thrones'. I'd love to see how they'd fit floor spikes and giant crushing stone pillars into real life.

Seriously, a movie that kills, a website that kills, and now this.

Fantastic job, Hollywood.

I wonder what our old friend Jack Thomson will have to say about this. :P

I wounder what console the game they're playing is for?

Otaku no M - March 5, 2006 07:05 AM (GMT)
Trailer won't play for me, but to be honest I don't really care. And I think I've seen a trailer for this on TV.

Anyway, seems pretty unoriginal so far.

Reminds me of jumanji, The Ring, all The Ring wannabes, Yu-Gi-Oh manga volumes 1-7 before it became boring and Parappa The Rapper 2. Only in Parappa it was noodles instead of death.

So will I be watching it?

Depends on how good everything else will be. Everything else but the basic plot I mean.

I bet Jack Thompson secretly funded this whole thing under a code name.
