Title: The Amazing race
Description: Run darn you, RUN!

Well, another installment of this "well-at-least-it's-not-American-Idol" reality show starts tonight (at least where I am). I got a bit turned off last time with the whole family gimmick, but it appears they are going back to what brought them to the dance.

So, I simply ask yet again: are you going to watch?

Wil - February 28, 2006 04:19 PM (GMT)
Freakin' yes! Thanks for the notice, I would've missed it!

Chadisuffda - March 1, 2006 02:00 AM (GMT)
My pleasure your Wil-ness.

It's because of shows like this that I miss television. But then again, eh. I was never really into any of the shows.

But, at least they got rid of that family thing, I guess. That sucked

**has been watching** Geeze, just about all those teams are dumber than dirt...

And it's only the first leg too...could make for interesting watching.

Wil - March 1, 2006 04:00 AM (GMT)
CRAP! I was recording with Psy for the next Wha-Chow and I missed the end- who got eliminated?

Chadisuffda - March 1, 2006 03:23 PM (GMT)
It was John and Scott who got eliminated

Tenjen Kouken - March 1, 2006 03:35 PM (GMT)
ah the amazing race

always interesting to watch

Another espisode in the books:

- I love it when there is this big rush to the next clue, only to find out that the place the box is at opens up at a later time. It amuses me to see them make a huge deal about getting there first, only to get stuck waiting with every other team.

- That Grandpa/Grandma team must be the luckiest couple in the world. Considering all the struggles they have been in so far (climbing, looking for clue boxes, cars breaking down, etc) they are still in the race.

- Hooray for Starsky and Hutch! (my pet name for BJ and Tyler)

- No more Glamazons...though my Dad spent most of the night laughing at the one who couldn;t drive the VW Bug. He pointed out that he has had no less than 4 Volkswagons in his life and has had no trouble whatsoever in driving them...

And now, on to Moscow...

You know, I'm looking forward to next week's episode, I wanna watch them go through all those Russian Dolls, it sounds kind'a silly. :P

TEH RECAP!!1~ONE

- a quick zipline trip leads to the airport

- everyone gets on the same plane for Moscow (I love it when everybody makes a mad dash somewhere, only to be foiled by someone else's schedual)

- a trip to an outdoor pool leads to some high diving

- ...followed by a little reflection at a monastary, and a Roadblock

- between trying to clean a trolley or search for a tiny clue in some dolls...

- ...they eventually reached Phil at Red Square...who proceeded to tell the first team to arrive "This leg of the race isn;t over, you're still racing"

Opinions:

- yet again that Southern married couple prove they have the worst sense of direction: everybody went to the right to get to the zipline, so naturally they went to the left

- surely the contestants must be allowed to read the entire Roadblock clue before blurting out "I'll do it", maybe then that Latina mom/daughter team wouldn;t of had nearly as much trouble at the pool (Mom doesn;t like going underwater, but it was kind of funny to watch some of the locals at the pool cheer her on)

- everybody wanted to avoid those stacking dolls like the plauge, but apparently very few cab drivers in Moscow knew where the trolley car garage was...

- for those of you with VCRs, TiVito or one of those fancy recording DVD players, you can probably pin-point the exact second when Phil stops the hearts of the leading team (Jeremy & Eric) when he tells them to keep racing and hands them that next clue...

- judging from the previews, the next stop is Germany

Why? It's just another STUPID REALITY SHOW. I will never watch it for as long as it exsists. *Votes no*

Kojjiro - March 16, 2006 05:28 PM (GMT)
It's intresting to watch because you get to see other places. Don't be so biased towards reality shows

Chadisuffda - March 16, 2006 08:31 PM (GMT)
It's not like they are singing, or living on an island, or in a house with cameras everywhere.

To me it's an actual competition, as opposed to a popularity contest. I wouldn't even classify TAR as a reality show...

Ah, well, you're right, I shouldn't be so stupid for just saying I don't like it because it's a reality show. What I should have said was: "I don't usually even watch TV these days, so I doubt I will have an urge to start watching it, so I vote no."

Thanks for helping me correct myself. ;-)

Ze report boss, ze report!!

- immediately headed for Germany

- a quick ride on the Wall of Death at Mercedes-Benz (sp)

- some product placement with Travelocity and gnomes...

- ...send them to a movie/TV studio inspired Detour

- and the pit stop in Munich

Ze opinons boss, ze...**shot**

- an early lead was established as three teams managed to get out of Moscow before everyone else

- that Wall of Death looked interesting...driving parallel to the ground FTW!

- it amazes me how some people have great senses of direction and others don't...I exepcted the Southern couple to be the ones to get horribly lost, not the Pink Girls/Latinas

- Heh...the Travelocity Roaming Gnome...

- it was plain stupid how lucky that Southern couple got at the Detour. Was it the second beer bottle broken before they got out of there?

- it almost looked as if the Grandparents made yet another bone-headed decsion trying to dance, but they pulled it off and got out of last place...

- judging from the previews it is either Greece or Italy (I am basing this on the statue making bit)
