Title: death what do you think is after life?

RyanHedge - February 10, 2006 12:08 AM (GMT)
Myself I'm not sure, I'm Christain but somethings still bug me about the afterlife...

Creepy - February 10, 2006 12:12 AM (GMT)
Why worry about it? You're going to find out eventually anyway.

RyanHedge - February 10, 2006 12:14 AM (GMT)
True but it's fun to think about it a bit.

So Creepy are you this care free about your veiws??? I'm not trying to be mean just wondering?

Creepy - February 10, 2006 12:16 AM (GMT)
Why wouldn't I be?

RyanHedge - February 10, 2006 12:21 AM (GMT)
I'm pretty car free myself just let things work themselves out and work with it. You know what I mean?

Easy-Phil - February 10, 2006 12:45 AM (GMT)
Seeing as I properly died in a dream once (couldn't feel heartbeat, couldn't breath etc.) I kinda think I have the closest thing to first hand experience with this subject. It was just darkness, nothing more, nothing less. Except my brain was still working and thinking things out (which I doubt would happen when you REALLY die) so it'll probably be a ton better than that nightmare. You know OBVIOUSLY I woke up in a cold sweat and couldn't go back to sleep afterwards, but I eventually got over it. After all, that's probably the WORST case senario, ANY afterlife would be better than experiencing that again. It was only probably a minute that I stopped breathing and couldn't feel my heart beating, but with my brain going into overdrive it felt a hell of alot longer.

But after that experience I honestly don't think I'm afraid of death, but obviously I don't jump at the chance to kill myself either. When it happens it'll happen n_n

u took the words out of my mouth

well there might be an unimaginably huge amount of realms and plains of existence out there for all we know

all things being the same ( a theoritical standard event with no complications)

we may achieve

a place (and i use "place" lightly) of absolute existence, which we become a part of

or a place (or rather noplace) of eternal void, an abyss of non existence where we cease to actually exist
I really wouldnt want to know what would cause us to end up in such a place...

u have to understand something though, void and infinity are quite alike. except one exists and the other doesnt, both are endless. 0 and user posted imageare infinite in size by their very nature

edit: u guys can now get a slight "gist" of what the hell iam talking about under my sig

After life, there is the nitrogen Cycle.

Rockman_SP - February 10, 2006 01:05 AM (GMT)
When you die, I think that there's a giant arcade machine named 'Life' waiting for you, asking you to put in another quarter.

Heh.

But I don't care about death, I suppose... Well, back THEN anyway... Nowadays, the only regret I'd ever have if I died would be that I would never have met my loved one.

Other than that, nothing else, really.

Mewchu11 - February 10, 2006 01:18 AM (GMT)
I try not to worry about it. It used to keep me up at night.

Ideally: I'll live forever in some form of myself on earth.

If one of the religions has it right: That person up there is hopefully less selective than everyone says... or I'll kick his ass :D

Realistically: Lots of clones and a kickass tombstone that produces it's own light show and has a weapons system.

Everyone knows that when you die, you wake up again as someone's child. Then you lose all memory about your previous life during painful childhood lifestyle.

Ha... I thought I was the only one who had that problem. >>

Anyway, I think that you'd have another life as another person, without any memory of your past life, but after watching most of What Dreams May Come (SHUT IT) I'm thinking there's a Heaven as well, that's everything you've always wanted.

Then there's how when you die, you come back to life and your life starts over, and time starts over as well, but I'm thinking that's a little off, since if that happens to you, wouldn't that happen to everybody else?

I'ma shut up now.

Detective Lance - February 10, 2006 02:47 AM (GMT)
I believe it all depends how we lived our life here on earth, and what we believed. I won't deny that I belive there is a God or something that designed everything, there is too much evidence suggesting that. As for what happens afterwards, I entertain the notion of reincarnation, be it here or someplace else.
However I think there is some place we go after so many reincarnations. After all our reincarnations are done, we are evaluated by a panel, and they decide if we should go to them pearly gates, or rot in whatever place they think we should.

To Quote a famous novel, The Callahan Chronicals

"More peaceful than Naptime in a monastery. If it wasn't so pleasant then I wouldn't be so damned scared of it."

Honestly, I have a few views on it. If there is an afterlife, then I would think it would be just one large, white space, where you could create what you wanted to exist. Kinda like a personal resort, instantly tailored to your tastes.

Or there is no afterlife, and it's a really, really peaceful nap.

Whatever it is, We won't know until we get there.

"What the hell would you want to be dead for?"--Chuck Samms, The Callahan Chronicals.

I personally believe that once we die we instantaneously get reincarnated elsewhere as someone's baby, whether it be human or animal. You don't have memory of your previous life, but possibly still have the same desires as your previous self did.

Vengful Nightmare - February 10, 2006 03:47 AM (GMT)
I think you die, get reincarnated into somthing. Depending on what you did in your life, decides what you are next.

Psychotic Swordsman - February 10, 2006 03:51 AM (GMT)
I can only hope it's something like 'what dreams may come'

:< dude I was like seven. I think I could still have a fear of death back then. *sniff* those were dark days...

Oh and also, your mom :P

Zlade - February 10, 2006 04:08 AM (GMT)
I also belive in reincarnation but like humans come back as humans...apes come back as apes. I don't fear death I just know it.

Creepy - February 10, 2006 04:40 AM (GMT)
And friends:

It's not like "What Dreams May Come."

It's like "Deliverance."

Keep that in mind when you go to bed tonight. :D

SSBFreak - February 10, 2006 05:55 AM (GMT)
Being a Christian, I know I'm going to Heaven when I die, and I know it's going to be a great place. Thus, I look forward to one day seeing God and spending eternity with him in Heaven.

Death Bringer - February 10, 2006 06:19 AM (GMT)
As a Christian, I believe that when you believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you go to Heaven, and when you don't, you get a one way ticket to the big burner.

But I try not to think of those things. I just try to go about my life without worrying about what happens to me after.

sonic500 - February 10, 2006 10:14 AM (GMT)
i think when you die.....
nothing happens. you
just Chese to exist.
your dead nothing happens but your
bodey being Burried/cremated.

oO?Kodama - February 10, 2006 10:22 AM (GMT)
"Death" is nothing more than the body shutting down all functions thus ending the state which humans and all forms of animal and non-animal existences call "Life", nothing really elaborate to it unless you're one of those poor saps who gets eaten alive by a pack animal.

Your atrocious spelling makes your opinion discredited.

Anywho, I'm Catholic.

There's a whole lotta hell waiting for me when I die. Personally? I'm comitting a unique blend of sins and am aiming for my very own level.

Sven - February 10, 2006 05:27 PM (GMT)
i think Peter Griffin said it best where "if your all good, you will go to a magical place called heaven...nah im just screwing with you, you'll rot in the ground"

Detective Lance - February 10, 2006 05:41 PM (GMT)
OK Kodama, what happens afterwards?

Sine Diego - February 10, 2006 05:42 PM (GMT)
So long as it has a working t.v. and all the games in the universe, i would like to think that the afterlife is not that bad.

Lothar Hex - February 10, 2006 05:56 PM (GMT)

Not to metion that we're all gonna go that route some day.
If us humans have no other things in common, at least let this point be considered.

We do have other things in common, many things. We all breather air, we all need food and water, we all have skin...

I know that. It's just that We all have a time limit on this planet, and people are using the time for things that benefit themselves, but harms others. The sooner they realize that they're not gonna be around forever, the better off we are, and the better we get along.

Axel Hunt - February 10, 2006 07:33 PM (GMT)
I rather like the Real Live Dead aspect of things, where you go whereever your religion says you go, but no single belief is more 'right' or more 'wrong' than another. Quite an amusing theory.

As far as my personal opinion on the subject, the afterlife isn't too different from the world we live in. Think of it as sort of two sides of a mirror, and once your time on one side expires, you proceed to the other.

oO?Kodama - February 10, 2006 07:40 PM (GMT)
QUOTE (Detective Lance @ Feb 10 2006, 12:41 PM)
OK Kodama, what happens afterwards?

To quote a work by an English author John Donne called "Death be not Proud" in a non-metaphysical sense; Death is simply a deep sleep from which humanity shall awake one day, thusly, Death shall die.

Point of that comment really was to say that one does not believe in an afterlife or any other religious convictions like Heaven or Hell, Death is just simply DEATH to me, nothing more simple about it.

The Masochist - February 10, 2006 08:12 PM (GMT)
I think you either

A.) Are Re-Incarnated
B.) Go to Heaven or Hell
C.) Go to a Limbo-like place
D.) Become a ghost wander the earth forever. (Possesions are possible, etc.)
E.) Are stuck in a void of nothingness for all eternity.

My religous ideals are irrelevant.

RyanHedge - February 10, 2006 08:29 PM (GMT)
Alot of poeple like recarnation man..... I thought hevan would be hard to get to.. But living a endless life cicle would be hard!
