Title: Doctor Who
Jeffk38uk - March 25, 2005 11:35 PM (GMT)
Ah, the Doctor Who series. I'm not that old, but I quite enjoy the series and the subsequent movies. The story of Doctor Who travelling the galaxy in past and present against Daleks and all.
Why I bring this up? Well a new Doctor Who series will be airing tommorow on BBC1 at 7pm, new cast, new stories new action.
If you want more info then go here:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/Anyone else interested in this?
The BOFH - March 25, 2005 11:48 PM (GMT)
Yes. I've always been a great fan of Doctor Who, and have all the series on DVD at home. looking forward to this new one. Hope it's as good as the classics, eh?
Shaded Spriter - March 26, 2005 04:29 AM (GMT)
I am looking forward to it...watched some Dr. Who today on channel 4...
Jet - March 26, 2005 04:44 AM (GMT)
Never heard of it myself, much like a lot of the supposedly good series floating around. But what do ya get for avoiding the real world? =P
Eh, it might end up as one of those things I see later down the road when it stops airing and they make it available in the US, kinda like Red Dwarf and a few other series I've gotten recommendations for.
Jeffk38uk - March 26, 2005 12:08 PM (GMT)
Prob, that or some American pubslisher decides to make an american version of Doctor Who
*Twitches Dont even want to know.
Shaded Spriter - March 26, 2005 08:46 PM (GMT)

What Doctor?
Yes, yes cheap gag and all that, but really what Doctor? Heard about this so many times in popular culture, yet I have yet not grasped the knowledge of what it is.
So.... Doctor Who?
Hyperknucklesgc - March 26, 2005 09:24 PM (GMT)
The Doctor.
It was OK, but they need to get the Daleks back. They were the good parts of the old Doctor Who.
'You will be EXTERMINATED!!!'
Giant pepperpots that can't handle stairs. Scary.
Grand Master Eastwood - March 26, 2005 09:28 PM (GMT)
It's another reason why I hate work - It makes me miss Doctor Who.
Jeff - They did make an American Dr. Who... one of the films. it was godawful.

the link in the first post. has all the information...But here is some basics.
The first series was in 1963. This is the first new series for 15 years.
There has been nine different Doctors. (Seven different Doctors in the different series 1963-1989. The Eighth was in the Tv movie in 1996 and then there is the current one.)
A few things you might know about even if you never seen it.

The Daleks ("EX-TER-MIN-ATE! EX-TER-MIN-ATE!")

The TARDIS. (Time And Relitive Dimension In Space)
Hyperknucklesgc: The Daleks are coming sometime in the series.
V-202 - March 26, 2005 09:50 PM (GMT)
I enjoyed the first episode of the new Doctor Who also and so did my parents. I can't wait for next weeks episode. :D :D :D
I wounder if the Cybermen will make an appearance later in the series? I know the Daleks will that's for sure.

Jeffk38uk - March 26, 2005 10:11 PM (GMT)
I forgot about the movie. Huh, oh well. As for the Daleks, if you look into the episode list, you'll see the daleks may be seen in episode 6 labelled Daleks, as if that wasnt obvious enough.
The episode was quite good, a nice mix of comedy action and drama. Cant wait to see te next episode with the end of the world and the last human, whos just a brain in a jar and a stretch of skin.

I see they haven't put a title for episode 12 - maybe because it will spoil the plot or something...
I am also looking forward to the last human.
Jeffk38uk - March 27, 2005 12:15 PM (GMT)
You do wonder why by the year 5 billion she is ther last human. You would have thought we'd have an empire/federation/confederation by now.
DCE - March 27, 2005 03:00 PM (GMT)
My problem with it is... the doctor looks more like a geezer
to those who are not sure what that means
Geezer = the man or something like that
he looks too much like an extra from Lock Stock and two smoking barrels
Dr.Who: Allright daarling, I'm a time lord fancy a snog
I don't think of Dr.Who new or Old, this new one looks pants and too hollywoody
Jeffk38uk - March 27, 2005 06:20 PM (GMT)
Well the style of the doctor was always in relation with the times, besides this, I think he looks quite cool really. Has thar certain aura about him. Plus he mingles well with that times society, compared to the other doctors, well, fashion sense was really out of the window.
Slash - March 27, 2005 06:22 PM (GMT)
I didn't watch it I was watching old school (unseen). I may watch the rest.
Hyperknucklesgc - April 2, 2005 06:57 PM (GMT)
Well, the second episode is over.
It was good. Better than the first one? Not sure.
Watching the last 'pure' human blow up at the end was cool though, and watching the two guys burn and the woman get killed by the spider creatures. Yep, cool.
Still a month away from the Daleks though.
Shaded Spriter - April 2, 2005 07:18 PM (GMT)
I think the same as you HkGC,
I heard on the radio early this week that Christopher Eccleston isn't coming back for a second series. They are taking bets - (Jonny Vagas 1000 to 1) But I didn't here all of it and didn't here who the fav. was.
Hyperknucklesgc - April 2, 2005 07:23 PM (GMT)
After watching the recent episode, I believe that the current Doctor IS good. He showed good 'Doctor' personality in that episode. The fact that he has quit after 1 year shows that while he's good, he doesn't have commitment.
Oh well, (Ian McKellan=3000-1)
Jet - April 5, 2005 02:32 AM (GMT)
Grave-digging is bad, mmkay? :[
Hyperknucklesgc - April 5, 2005 03:12 PM (GMT)
Replying in a topic based on a weekly show, when the show is on, 6 days after the last post is considered grave digging? :wth:
Slash - April 5, 2005 07:25 PM (GMT)
The cool thing is that the first episode was filmed in Cardiff where I live.
And yes gravedigging is back but there are exeptions.
Jeffk38uk - April 5, 2005 09:58 PM (GMT)
I still how a week old one is grave digging considering that the porgram is shown once every week, cant blame them really.
4 days till they go back to the past, though currently, Its a little vague as to whats going on.
Slash - April 5, 2005 10:03 PM (GMT)
The preview doesn't seem to give much away... something to do with a ghost I think.
LordVader - April 5, 2005 10:06 PM (GMT)
i missed episode 2 cos i was out at the time (my parents forgot to record grrrr) so at least u said what happened. yes the current Dr.Who is good but ashame he leaving after the first sieres, sucks tbh.
V-202 - April 22, 2005 07:18 PM (GMT)
Since nobody has said anything about episodes 3 & 4, I'll tell'ya what happens.
Episode 3: The Doctor & Rose meet Charles Dickinson (the guy who created A Christmas Carol).
Episode 4: Aliens disguised as humans come to invade London (Funny thing about it is because they FART).
The next episode continues last weeks episode.
Jeffk38uk - April 22, 2005 09:41 PM (GMT)
I would have said something, just that the topic ws a little more lively in EN forums. heh heh.
But yeh, we will find out what happens. And the episode after that is the first look at the daleks!
Hyperknucklesgc - April 22, 2005 09:48 PM (GMT)
Missed episode 4 dammit.
Saw number 3 but it wasn't that good.
HURRY UP WITH THE DALEKS ALREADY!!
Jeffk38uk - April 23, 2005 06:47 PM (GMT)
World War 3 episode was on. Kind of a good episode, though it felt slighlt ytoo easy for them to escape from the Slitheen at points. still, the story was quite good, and at the end where Mickey and the Doctor discuss the title of the newspaper "Alien Hoax", kinda berings forth that we believe what we can see, yet when its right in front of us, we think its something else.
The trailer for the next episode looks pretty good. Only 7 days to go.
Darkshmoe - April 23, 2005 06:49 PM (GMT)
Episode 5 just finished! all the freak farty aleins are dead..YAY
also when they show what happens in the next episode it has a darlek who shouts"exterminate, exterminate, exterminate" gotta be crazy. also say something about a towns entire population being destroyed
Hyperknucklesgc - April 23, 2005 07:46 PM (GMT)
Daleks ALWAYS shout 'Exterminate!!' or 'You will be EXTERMINATED!!' or something along those lines.
Goodbye Salt Lake City with any luck.
Looks like that Dalek hadn't washed in a while.
'Dirt is irrelavent. YOU WILL BE EXTERMINATED!!'
LordVader - April 23, 2005 07:52 PM (GMT)
FINALLY. THE DALEKS ARE COMING! THE DALEKS ARE COMING! can't wait for the 'EXTEMINATE! EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!'
Jeffk38uk - April 23, 2005 09:36 PM (GMT)
Wouldnt it be a strange change if they said "Exterminate Exterminate! Resistance is futile!!"
o.0
Darkshmoe - April 24, 2005 06:50 AM (GMT)
that darlek at the end of the docter who thing did sound pretty crazy
Shaded Spriter - April 24, 2005 11:10 AM (GMT)
I missed the episode last night - going to watch it tonight on BBC3.
I been inside a darlek in the museum of (can't remember the exact name for the next part) moving image.

I said that through the darlek voice changer thing.
Slash - April 24, 2005 01:55 PM (GMT)
Yep it would be sttrange if they changed it. I'm glad they haven't chaged the darleks appearence.
LordVader - April 25, 2005 09:51 AM (GMT)
ditto. can't wait to see them all run for thier lives! >:D
Darkshmoe - April 25, 2005 07:25 PM (GMT)
I really need my own army of loyal Darleks. :cmon:
