Welcome to the gaming boards: Game Central!

This is Mewchu, leader of all you see before you! Now I know your excited about discussing all your gaming needs and favorites, but before you go out unto the world there are a few things you should know. So listen up and try not to forget! (hey if you can do the Konami Code, this is easier)

THINGS THAT DON'T BELONG HERE

None of the below really matters if your posting something that doesn't belong here! This little list will help make sure your in the right place.

-This is not the place to show off your fancy rips/edits/recolors/custom sprites. The correct forum is Bit By Bit, in the Bragging Rights board

-This is not the place to talk about computer games. Computer game (computer anything really) topics belong in our brother board, User-Friendly.

-This is not the place to talk about a game you're making. Game Central is for the discussion of outside productions by established gaming companies and etc. Depending on the state of your game it can go in several places. If it is completed it belongs in Bragging Rights, if it is not completed and you need help it belongs in Promotions, which is under Bragging Rights.

-This is not the place to show off your game related Sig/Avatar. Signature Piece in Bragging Rights covers that.

THINGS THAT BELONG IN GAME CENTRAL MAIN

- Multiplatform topics
- Non Video Game Game topics
- Worst/Best topics
- Anything not covered by the below

THINGS THAT BELONG IN GAME CENTRAL SUB-BOARDS

- Console specific topics (Mario, Megaman, etc.)
- Arcade topics
- Squaresoft topics
- Old Console topics

A NOTE ON GRAVEDIGGING

Sometimes you'll see a topic on the first page you like and want to reply to, no problem right? WRONG. Posting on topics older than one week is an action usually frowned upon known as gravedigging. Please check the date of last post to see if it's still a live topic. This rule is not set in stone, if what you have to add is big and adds new discussion to the topic on hand then it may be considered useful gravedigging. When in doubt, ASK. PM us and ask about the topic on hand, we'll let you know.

THINGS TO AVOID

Sensitive topics can erupt in flame wars, and poor behavior can earn warnings. Avoiding these actions to keep yourself out of the gray area of good posting.

- Do not make "(console) is better than (console)" topics
- Do not make "(game) is better than (game of a different genre)" topics
- Do not make "This game sucks" topics
- Do not make "People who like this game are stupid" topics
- Do not make ANY judgment topics unless you have a well thought out post of admirable size to which there is a visible counterpoint
- Keep rabid fanboyism to minimum
- Never insult others on their gaming preference
- Try not to swear excessively
- Try not to double post
- Do not make topics for a subject a topic already exists for
- Don't bother make posts saying "I've never played this game so I have no idea"

If any other things come up I will be sure to update this topic. If anything seems ambiguous or wrong feel free to PM me about it.

- Have fun!

Not even 60 views! Shaaame... well besides being a bump I would like to say something while I'm here... I don't check my mail so often, maybe once every 2 days. Ergo if you report a post even though I'm online I might not know of it right away. Your much more likely to get my attention if you PM me about it (since it forces a pop-up)

So yeah

*grumbles* I'm a nice guy, I rarely warn people when they gravedig here, I just delete it and keep the peace... but it's getting SICKENING, I can count 20 different instances of gravedigging in the last three months, and they were done by no more than SEVEN people. No more niceness on the issue folks, if a repeat offender does it again you WILL be warned, even if is your fourth. If you absolutely MUST revive a topic ASK ME FIRST SO I CAN GIVE IT MY APPROVAL.

It IS labor day weekend after all, figures of authority get a little stricter :D

Got a new one folks:

Please give all "Judgement" style topics a neutral name, even if your view is clearly in favor or against it.

Ergo the title "New Revolution Controller Revealed!" is fine, as it doesn't make you sound like your bashing or praising it, only wanting to discuss of it (though of course the post ITSELF is, as always, totally your choice to bash, praise, or meh.)

Two not so neutral ones might be "Nintendo's stupid remote thingy" or on the other side of the deck "Nintendos device of mass Sony-Pwning"

This is mostly to stop bandwagoners from mearly looking at the title to draw a generic opinon. Of course this applies to all such opinionated conjecture.

This really isn't a warnable offence, just don't be shocked if your title changes

PSA guys: I don't like people who's only post here in the Game Central. I mean I know you guys enjoy video games but god EXPAND... all the "monocentral" people here at TFS have a tendancy to be... really stupid and ignorent of the rules of gravedigging...

Look around...

Please?
