This one was hard, where many were left out.
Dilated Peoples - Neighborhood Watch - This time around they kept the formula that has always worked. On pure content and quality, this is a top 5 album.
Pete Rock - Soul Survivor 2 - Just as good as the original. Nice to see people still wanting to work with him. His unique way of blending the right beat to an artist is a gift.
Leak Brothers - Waterworld - I think every year Cage wil ldrop an album and it will be one of the most slept on albums. He went the concept route again for the third time, this drug themed album with Tame-1, in his own right, a very slept on MC. Tame's rendidtion of La Di Da Di(Druggie Fresh) is a song of the year candidate.
Immortal Technique - Revolutionary Volume 2 - He might not be slept on this time next year. But one of the brightest rising stars did release this album. He has hunger more than anyone else trying hard to get noticed and to be at the top you need to have the hunger and his rhymes show it.
Eastern Conference All Stars IV - No one knew this came out. It did in September and with the usual High And Mighty that is better this time around, the Eastern Conference line-up, some can say is one of the best around with help from GURU & Freeway, this is a must have.
Akinyele - Live At The BBQ(Lost Classics 1991-1994) - There was rereleases this year and this one slipped under the radar. The original Juan Valdez, the one that was so cool and good and in 1994, made me like this person and in 1998, made me hate him with the part 2 that sucked. But this is all the tracks from the time he was also introduced to the world in that one famous track we all love.
Masta Killa - No Said Date - People were saying the Wu was dead this year. With Ghostface releasing his 4th critically acclaimed album, Masta Killa followed that up with this underrated joint. Once considered the weakest link in the group, showed that he is possibly top 3 in the group now. Funny how times have changed.
