Abbatoir - August 17, 2003 12:53 PM (GMT)
Read this? What did you think of it? Looking forward to the movie?
I loved it and I am so bloody irritated that they've delayed the movie until October.
BTW try the quiz! Just click the image of Hyde in my sig.

What the link?? It worked oky for me. I'm Mr Griffin.
Again, a little 'which one are you...' lists me as a male character. Same for the FF quiz.....
Film looks intersting. Saw a trailer back when i went to see X2 in May.
Abbatoir - August 18, 2003 11:20 AM (GMT)
The FF quiz had a "male or female" bit but there's only one woman in the League.
ferret - August 18, 2003 11:36 AM (GMT)
True, but even though I put female in the FF quiz, it came up as a guy.
Abbatoir - August 18, 2003 12:04 PM (GMT)
Naz - August 18, 2003 01:49 PM (GMT)
mayb it means summat? there r only 2 females in FF7 though!

ferret - October 3, 2003 04:10 PM (GMT)
Movie looks great!! Movie looks great!! If the actress who plays Mina was younger (more like teenage) we would have a Nemrith! We should cast a Realm of Darkness film, and mugs and stuff........I'm back to normal....
:hype:
fuzzy dice - October 3, 2003 07:30 PM (GMT)

I agree, I havent read it...but it looks HORRIBLE
Movie was cool though.
Abbatoir - April 11, 2004 09:56 AM (GMT)
What?!?!?!?!?
It rules! It's one of the greatest comics of all time! I once read the whole thing three times in one sitting!
And the movie? Oh, the movie! What a pile of sneck that was!

I wan't to read it but the art still stinks. :P
Well, it's art doesn't really "stink", I reserve the word "stink" for the new Venom comic art.
What was wrong with the movie? I thought it rocked.
Is it just me or does the HellBoy movie look nothing like the comic? It reminds me too much of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen movie to me.
(not that I've really read HellBoy yet mind you.)
ferret - April 12, 2004 09:06 AM (GMT)
I like both the movie and the comic.
The comic..Pollyanna....I had to put the book down at that point and laugh all the way downstairs to get a glass of cold water, which I subsequently choked on.
Abbatoir - April 12, 2004 11:35 AM (GMT)
"Although I've been mishandled by a demon, I'm determined to remain optimistic no matter what."
That line should make you buy it anyway.
The Invisible Man is one of the best comic villains ever!

That line has convinced me to read it.
WHAT!?!?! I thought the invisibleMan was a good guy!!
He was my favorite in the movie. <_<
Well....as long as he's a cool villain... -_-
ferret - April 13, 2004 11:41 AM (GMT)
The word pervert comes to mind.
They did so some serious character changes for the movie. And its worth you to know that in the movie the Invisible guy's called Skinner, right?/ Well, in the graphic novel he's known as Griffin.
Abbatoir - April 13, 2004 03:34 PM (GMT)
A viscious murderer rapist thing!
He's forced to join the League but still gets up to some pretty nasty things. Also Hyde is brilliant, unlike in the movie.
CutMan - April 13, 2004 05:02 PM (GMT)
I thought Hyde seemed a little stupid in the movie.
ferret - April 13, 2004 05:02 PM (GMT)
I'm kinda glad they changed the name of the Invisble man. That way, you can't really connect him as such to the comic book character. I know you'll probably disagree, but it's the way i see it....Hyde's good. I didn't think they got him quite right in the movie....I dunno, not bery mnsterous now was he?
Thing was, to appeal to a wide audience, they had to make it fir the 12A, PG-13 or whatever they have in other countrys, rating thing so more people coiuld go see it and therefore bring in more dosh. So they had to sugar it up a bit. It was quite good, but I'd love to see a true-to-comic film. Which begs the question - why did I like X2 so much?? Hello, Nightcrawler??? We have another murder of character here!!
Abbatoir - April 13, 2004 05:58 PM (GMT)
Hyde was awful. He just wanted to smash things, when in the comic he brutally rips people apart.
Nightcrawler was great! Brilliant effects and his character was good as well. The only bad thing was when Hall bloody Berry told him that his self-inflicted scars were "beautiful"!
ferret - April 13, 2004 08:17 PM (GMT)
Meh. After seeing the film several times, I...I didn't like the whole 'tattoo' thing with 'crawler in the first place, but I dunno. They coulda had real fun with shashbuckler Kurt.
The thing that grated most for me in the LXG film was the way Mina said 'Dorian'. *shudders*
Abbatoir - April 14, 2004 12:02 PM (GMT)
That was swashbuckler Kurt but in a restricted way.
CutMan - September 3, 2004 02:32 PM (GMT)
I take back everything I said. The comic is great.
*hugs his volume one tight*
Abbatoir - September 3, 2004 02:38 PM (GMT)
Thanks! I'm expecting Vol II to be mailed to me in a couple of weeks!
Favourite character and scene?
CutMan - September 3, 2004 02:52 PM (GMT)
That's a tough one.
I tend to like Griffin... and as for scene..hmm.
How about when they were stuck in that under-water room. Or..I liked that entire secret tunnel part of the story, it's hard to choose one scene.
Abbatoir - September 3, 2004 02:55 PM (GMT)
My favourite is Griffin along with Nemo and Hyde.
I like the bit with infrared and the scenes at the school. I also liked the big showdown at the end and the revalation of the true villain.

Wow, you like the same characters I do. Should I be afraid?
I also thought the scene where it revealed the true villain was well done, couldnt of been happier with the way it was done.
I think it's beginning to affect my art style too.
Abbatoir - September 3, 2004 03:04 PM (GMT)
I loved that scene because you know almost right away who he is. In the movie they just unmasked him and said "Oh, so you're X!"
Yeah, the art gets better as it goes along. The first few pages with Mina meeting Bond seemed a bit bad but then it instantly became brilliant. My favourite scene artwise was the full page image of the Nautilus. That was amazing.
CutMan - September 3, 2004 03:10 PM (GMT)
Yeah, back when I had said I didnt like it...... I'm ashamed to say I judged it by the very first three pages. How stupid of me.
Abbatoir - September 3, 2004 03:19 PM (GMT)
CutMan - September 3, 2004 04:26 PM (GMT)
I don't know if I like the way you're agreeing with me, but yeah, how stupid of me.
Also, the narrative at the end of each issue and the introduction at the begining was hilarious.
